- An articulated arm of the type mentioned is at a certain Type of awnings, the so-called Gelenkarm- or Used articulated awnings.
- Such awning has an awning cloth on, on a cloth winding shaft and unwound is included.
- a leading end of the awning fabric is attached to a drop bar, which when unwinding the Awning cloth from the cloth winding shaft moved away from this is, and moved to the winding of the awning on this becomes.
- the drop bar, at the leading end of the awning is attached, is about the at least one, in the Usually via two articulated arms with a supporting part of the awning, For example, a support tube, connected.
- Such an articulated arm has at least two arm parts, the are connected to each other via a joint whose hinge axis runs transversely to the longitudinal axis of the arm parts.
- the one arm part which is also referred to as the upper arm, is doing with his Joint end facing hinged to the supporting part of the Awning, i. the support tube, connected.
- the other arm part the Also referred to as the forearm is with his the joint opposite end hingedly connected to the drop bar.
- the articulated arm In the fully retracted condition of the awning, in which the Awning cloth completely wound up on the cloth winding shaft is, the articulated arm is maximally bent, i. the first and the second arm are almost parallel to each other and run approximately parallel to the drop rod and to the support tube. In the maximum extended condition of the awning, i. at completely from the Cloth winding shaft unwound awning cloth is the articulated arm stretched.
- the articulated arm or the articulated arms of the awning have the function the drop bar when unwinding the awning cloth from push the cloth winding shaft away to clear the cloth when unwinding pull away from the cloth winding shaft under tension.
- This is in one of the arm parts, for example in the upper arm of the articulated arm, at least arranged a spring, whose one end on the first arm part is fixed, and at the other end of an end at least a flexible Buchlements, for example in the form of a wire rope or a chain that is fastened over the joint, the connecting the two arm parts, guided in the second arm part and fixed there with its other end to the second arm part is.
