Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for protecting the crew of a military vehicle according to the features specified in the preamble of claim 1.
- armored vehicles of this type which have a tailgate or tailgate for the entry and exit of a vehicle crew, such as, for example, team transport vehicles or rifle combat vehicles
- their mission is characterized in that the crew very often sits on and off.
- the flap is arranged at the rear, since only there is a safe exit, which is best protected against shelling, when the vehicle is standing or rolling in the direction of the fight.
- loopholes or battle hatches are attached to the side or top of the vehicle in known designs. These openings in the vehicle housing often have the disadvantage that they represent dangerous breakthroughs in the armored interior, by which the crew is endangered by enemy weaponry. Overall, ensuring a balanced level of protection for the crew in the vehicle is of primary importance.
- DE 19633329 and 19633331 propose a combat vehicle with a diesel-electric drive and rear hatch, which provides various options for the arrangement and design of the tailgate and the rear exit through variants in the stowage of the energy generating system.
- the flap including part of the vehicle floor, is opened and lowered, or the power generation system located in the rear area is raised or swiveled to the side to ensure that the crew can get in and out.
- DE 19717734 proposes a combat vehicle that arranges the drive components in the housing so that a rear exit can be installed asymmetrically to the center of the vehicle.
- the object of the invention is to improve a generic tailgate and by introducing a higher functionality in connection with the flap to achieve at least partial effectiveness of the crew externally, without the interior as a shelter with loopholes or battle hatches is perforated as necessary.
- the tailgate hinged at the bottom through its design and additional parts, creates a partially open standby space for the crew and the crew can act and observe through the partial opening to the outside under partial protection, the original function of the tailgate being maintained and even improved . Further advantageous properties are specified by the subclaims.
- the tailgate is designed so that when the flap is opened, for example, an extension of the inner contour (5, FIG. 4) is formed for the footprint of a soldier.
- the tailgate (1) has a motor drive by means of an electric or hydraulic drive for opening and closing due to the weight of the flap and, in some cases, manual emergency operation for the failure of the drive energy.
- the plate (3) can be manually pivoted with the aid of spring force or can also be powered by external power like the flap (1).
- the opening angles of the flap (1) are approached by means of position sensors and the flap is locked in the corresponding position.
- the one-piece design of the tailgate (1) ensures optimal tightness against the vehicle housing when elastic seals are used when the flap is closed. If a seal is appropriately attached to the sides of the flap against the housing walls (19), the standby space (6, 9) could also be largely sealed off from splash water, for example.
- Fig. 1 illustrates that in a direction 17 with wheels 14 and rotating Chains 15 moving armored tracked vehicle 10 by means of a horizontal axis 16 a tailgate 1 is articulated at the rear.
- This tailgate 1 is with an edge 2 and also by means of a horizontal axis 18 formed on the flap 1 articulated plate 3 so that when closed Plate 3 forms a storage space 4 between plate 3 and flap 1.
- the tailgate 1 is shown in partial section in the fully closed functional position.
- the flap 1 is shown in the partially open functional position A, the Plate 3 is pivoted up about the axis 18 in a functional position.
- Readiness space 9 is formed, which is visible to the rear by means of the plate 3 and shelling is protected.
- Storage space 4 is now open.
- the top edge of the Plate 3 can be positioned so that, for example, with a crossbar 7 a standby space 9 which is even better closed to the rear is formed, since the plate 3 rests on the cross member 7.
- the flap 1 is shown in the partially open functional position B, the Plate 3 is pivoted upwards in FIG. 3.
- a Partially protected standby space 6 is formed on all sides, with the vehicle interior connected and by means of the flap 1 to the rear, the plate 3 upwards and the chain sides or the housing extensions 19 laterally on both sides is covered.
- FIG. 5 shows plate 3 under otherwise identical conditions pivoted all the way down, so that an upwardly open fighting space 9 is formed is in which a soldier 11 with a hand weapon 12 can act outwards.

Abstract
