Definitions
- the invention relates to a device and a method for the continuous production of a ridge and ridge cover strip from a strip of plastically deformable material with the features of the preamble of claim 1 or 9.
- Such ridge and ridge cover strips are placed on a ridge or ridge slat of a roof and fastened, for example, by nailing, screwing or stapling.
- the ridge and ridge cover strip protrudes laterally over the ridge or ridge batten, it rests on roof covering panels that laterally adjoin the ridge or ridge batten.
- Ridge tiles are laid over the ridge and ridge cover strips.
- the ridge and ridge cover strips are used to ensure that the eaves to ridge are ventilated under the roof in accordance with the provisions of DIN 4108 (3) and to drain water that penetrates under the ridge tiles onto the roof covering panels.
- a device and a method for producing a ridge and ridge cover strip is known from DE 197 29 504.
- the known device has two shaping rolls with two interlocking and intermeshing wave profiles, the waves of which are transverse, ie. H. run axially parallel.
- a strip of plastically deformable material, in particular metal (sheet metal strip) is pulled off, for example, from a reel and carried out between the two shaping rollers.
- the shaping rollers shape the strip, they provide it with a corrugation with waves running transversely to the strip, the forming being a bending.
- the corrugation is used to drain water penetrating under the ridge tiles to the side onto the roofing slabs.
- the waves form flow channels for an air flow caused by wind between the ridge tiles and the ridge and ridge cover strip.
- the corrugation also has the purpose that the ridge and ridge cover strips can be shaped and adapted to corrugations of the roofing panels on which it is placed with its side region. In order to adapt to the thickness of the strip, the distance between the two shaping rollers can be adjusted.
- Ventilation openings are made in the corrugation crests of the corrugation.
- the ventilation openings allow air from under the roof to escape and thus vent the under-roof area.
- the air outlet occurs due to a thermal, upward air flow and / or due to a suction effect which the air flow caused by wind exerts across the ridge or ridge of the roof between the ridge tiles and the ridge and ridge cover strip.
- the ventilation openings are cut by sawing, milling or broaching in counter and / or synchronism in the wave crests of the Strip attached.
- the invention is based on the object of proposing a device and a method which enables the production of the ventilation openings with full functionality and with a reduced amount of waste, ideally without waste.
- the device according to the invention has a rotating cutting tool, which is arranged behind the forming rollers in the running direction of the strip to be processed, and which runs in synchronism with the forming rollers.
- the cutting tool has raised cutting elements which protrude from its circumference and which are at a distance from one another in the circumferential direction which corresponds to the distance between the wave crests of the ridge and ridge cover stiffener.
- the corrugated ridge and ridge cover strip is guided over the circumference of the cutting tool, the cutting elements of which make cuts in the wave crests of the ridge and ridge cover strip. Ideally, the cuts do not produce any chips or other material waste, at least a waste amount is reduced.
- the ridge and ridge cover strip is guided along the cutting tool in such a way that the cutting elements pass through the ridge and ridge cover strip from an inner or concave side of the wave crests and deform cut edges of the incisions away from the cutting tool.
- the incisions are widened by reshaping the cut edges, so that ventilation openings with an air passage surface are created.
- the reshaped cut edges form a collar surrounding the ventilation openings, which the Vents surround and protrudes from a convex side of the crests of the ridge and ridge cover strip.
- the collar When the ridge and ridge cover strips are attached to the ridge or ridge slat, the collar protrudes upwards or the collar determines which side is the top of the ridge and ridge cover strip.
- the cut edges which are formed into the collars surrounding the ventilation openings, protect the ventilation openings of the ridge and ridge cover strips against the ingress of water, in particular also in the event of driving rain and against snow driven under the ridge tiles by wind.
- the collars create a turbulence of the air flow caused by wind between the ridge tiles and the ridge and ridge cover strip. The swirling currents increase the suction effect of the air flow and thus improve the ventilation of the roof interior.
- the cutting tool of the device according to the invention can, for example, be disc-shaped.
- the cutting tool is preferably designed as a cutting roller with side-by-side and with cutting elements arranged one behind the other in the circumferential direction of the cutting roller, the cutting roller being able to be composed of disk-shaped cutting tools, which in particular are placed next to one another in a rotationally fixed manner and optionally held at an axial distance from one another with interposed spacers are.
- the spacing of the cutting elements in the circumferential direction corresponds to the spacing of the wave crests of the ridge and ridge cover strips from one another.
- the arrangement of cutting elements next to each other increases a ventilation cross section per length of the area of the ridge and ridge cover strip, which means that the regulations of DIN 4108 paragraph 3 can be easily met.
- the corrugation can be formed with waves running transversely or obliquely to a transverse direction of the ridge and ridge cover strip. This is meant by waves running from longitudinal edge to longitudinal edge.
- the waves don't have to be formed continuously from the longitudinal edge to the longitudinal edge of the ridge and ridge cover strip, they can be interrupted, for example, by longitudinal bending beads.
- the cutting elements of the cutting tool of the device according to the invention are preferably designed as cutting teeth which protrude from the circumference of the cutting tool.
- the cutting teeth can be pyramid-shaped, prisms or roof-shaped or conical, for example.
- the device has a circumferential counter-tool assigned to the cutting tool, which forms a support for the ridge and ridge cover strips when cutting and reshaping the cut edges.
- the counter tool has recesses in its circumference, in which the cutting elements of the cutting tool engage during cutting.
- the depressions in the counter tool can be complementary to the cutting elements. It is also possible to design the depressions as transverse or circumferential grooves or grooves. Grooves or grooves simplify and cheapen the manufacture of the counter tool, and the counter tool still has sufficient support for the ridge and ridge cover strips when cutting and reshaping the cut edges.
- the distance between the counter tool and the cutting tool is adjustable.
- the distance setting serves on the one hand to adapt to the thickness of the ridge and ridge cover strip and on the other hand to adjust the size of the air passage area of the ventilation openings.
- two form rollers are provided in one embodiment of the invention, which have at least two circumferential corrugated shape profiles arranged next to one another at a distance. These two form rollers provide the ridge and ridge cover strips with bending beads running in their longitudinal direction.
- more than two corrugation profiles or bending corrugations can be provided in embodiments of the invention.
- the bead-shaped profiles can be formed on the shaping rollers having the corrugated profiles or also on separate shaping rollers.
- the cutting elements are arranged at a distance from the longitudinal edges of the ridge and ridge cover strip on the cutting tool; the ridge and ridge cover strip is provided with the incisions forming the ventilation openings only at a distance from its longitudinal edges.
- the ridge and ridge cover strip remains without incisions or openings.
- the ridge and ridge cover strips have no openings in the area which projects laterally under the ridge tiles and can fall on the rain.
- the ridge and ridge cover strip can also remain without ventilation openings.
- the device 10 according to the invention shown in the drawing for the continuous production of a corrugated ridge and ridge covering strip 30 having ventilation openings from a strip 28 made of plastically deformable material has two pairs of rollers, namely two shaping rollers 12, and a cutting roller 22 which interacts with a counter roller 16 ,
- the cutting roller 22 forms a rotating cutting tool and the counter roller 16 a rotating counter tool of the device 10.
- the two shaping rollers 12 have wave profiles 18, the waves of which are also designated 18 run axially parallel.
- the wave profiles 18 of the two shaping rollers 12 mesh with one another.
- the shafts 18 are interrupted by circumferential bead-shaped profiles 20 which are formed in one of the shaping rolls 12 as grooves which are angular or rounded in cross-section and in the other shaping roll 12 as ribs with a complementary cross-section.
- the bead shape profiles 20 of the two form rollers 12 interlock and work together. A total of four bead-shaped profiles 20 are formed on each shaping roller 12.
- a center distance of the two forming rollers 12 can be adjusted to adapt to the thickness of the strip 28 to be processed.
- the cutting roller 22 and the counter roller 16 are arranged in a throughflow direction behind the shaping rollers 12.
- the cutting roller 22 has two sets of cutting disks 14 which are non-rotatably and placed next to one another on the cutting roller 22.
- the cutting disks 14 have cutting teeth 24 on their Scope on.
- the cutting teeth 24 are roof-shaped or prism-shaped with two trapezoidal and two triangular outer surfaces.
- the trapezoidal surfaces are arranged in the circumferential direction, the triangular surfaces transversely to the circumferential direction of the cutting disks 14.
- a common edge of the two trapezoidal surfaces forms a cutting edge of the cutting teeth 24 which runs in the circumferential direction of the cutting disks 14.
- the cutting teeth 24 are arranged next to one another on the circumference of the cutting roller 14 in the circumferential direction without offset.
- the cutting roller 22 with the cutting teeth 24 can also be made in one piece.
- the two groups of cutting disks 14 are arranged laterally outside of the bead shape profiles 20, the cutting disks 14 adjoin the bead shape profiles 20 at the side with a small distance.
- the cutting disks 14 occupy a smaller area in the axial direction than corresponds to an axial length of the shaping rollers 12, i. H. the wave profiles 18 of the shaping rollers 12 project laterally beyond the cutting disks 14.
- the counter roller 16 has depressions in the form of circumferential grooves 26 which are trapezoidal in cross section and into which the cutting teeth 24 of the cutting disks 14 and the cutting roller 22 engage. A center distance of the cutting roller 22 from the counter roller 16 is adjustable.
- the counter-roller 16 forms a support when cutting a strip 28 made of plastically deformable material, which will be described later.
- a corrugated ridge and ridge covering strip 30 having ventilation openings is produced from a strip 28 made of plastically deformable material.
- a metal strip 28 made of aluminum, copper, lead or zinc is used as the plastically deformable material.
- the metal strip 28 is unwound, for example, from a reel, not shown, and in the illustration in FIG fed to the rear of the device 10.
- the production runs endlessly.
- the metal strip 28 is first carried out between the two shaping rollers 12, the wave profiles 18 of which mesh with one another.
- the shaping rollers 12 shape the metal strip 28, they bend it to form a corrugated profile 32, the waves of which, also denoted by 32, run transversely to the metal strip 28 from one longitudinal edge to the other.
- the shafts 32 are only interrupted by bending beads 34 which run through in the longitudinal direction of the metal strip 28 and which are formed by the bead shape profiles 20 of the shaping rollers 12.
- the four corrugated shape profiles 20 of the two shaping rollers 12 form four bending corrugations 34 in the metal strip 28.
- a different number (for example two or six) bending corrugations 34 can be formed with a corresponding number of corrugation shape profiles 20.
- a central region 36 of the metal strip 28 extending in the longitudinal direction of the ridge and ridge cover strip 30 between the bending beads 34 is provided for placing the ridge and ridge cover strip 30 made of the metal strip 28 on a ridge or ridge batten, not shown.
- the ridge and ridge cover strip 30 can be angled at the upper side edges of the ridge and ridge slat to adapt to sloping roofs.
- the four (two, six) bending beads 34 allow the ridge and ridge cover strip 30 to be easily adapted to ridge or ridge battens of different widths.
- the metal strip 28 selected by the forming rollers 12 runs between the cutting roller 22 and the counter roller 16.
- the metal strip 28 lies on a circumference of the counter roller 16.
- the cutting teeth 24 of the cutting roller 22 are at the same distance from one another in the circumferential direction as the shafts 18 of the shaping rollers 12 and thus like the shafts 32 of the metal strip 28 bent by the shaping rollers 12.
- the cutting teeth 24 initially align the shafts 32 of the metal strip 28 such that the cutting teeth 24 engage in the concave sides of wave crests of the waves 32 of the metal strip 28.
- the cutting teeth 24 cut the metal strip 28 on the wave crests from the concave or inside and form cut edges of the incisions 38 into collars surrounding the incisions 38, which protrude from the convex side of the wave crests of the metal strip 28.
- the cutting teeth 24 widen the incisions 38 into ventilation openings, which are shown in FIG. 1 only as incisions 38.
- the metal strip 28 is supported by the counter-roller 16, the collars being deformed into the circumferential grooves 26 of the counter-roller 16.
- the cutting roller 22 is at the top and the counter roller 16 is at the bottom, that is to say the collars of the ventilation openings 38 are shaped so as to protrude downwards or outwards from the metal strip 28.
- the side on which the collars protrude forms the top of the finished ridge and ridge cover strip 30, ie the ridge and ridge cover strip 30 is to be laid so that the formed collars stand up.
- the top side of the ridge and ridge cover strip 30 is thus at the bottom when it is manufactured in the device 10.
- the ridge and ridge covering strip 30 After the ridge and ridge covering strip 30 has passed through the device 10, it is rolled up into a roll (not shown) and cut off, for example, after a few meters.
- longitudinal adhesive strips with adhesive nozzles between the ventilation openings and the longitudinal edges of the ridge and ridge cover strip 30 can be applied in a manner not shown, as disclosed in EP 890 687 A2, and covered with masking tapes , Such adhesive strips are used to attach the ridge and ridge cover strip 30 to roofing panels.
- the ventilation openings 38 are located exclusively in the wave crests of the waves 32 of the ridge and ridge cover strip 30, the wave crests in FIG. 1 being at the bottom, since the ridge and ridge cover strip 30 is produced with the top turned downward.
- the cutting edges 24 of the cutting roller 22 move at the same speed as the metal strip 28, so there is no relative movement when cutting and reshaping the cutting edges between the cutting teeth 24 and the metal strip 28 in the longitudinal or transverse direction of the metal strip 28.
- the cutting teeth 24 move essentially only perpendicularly to the plane of the metal strip 28 through the metal strip 28 and back out of the metal strip 28 during the cutting and reshaping of the cutting edges.
- the cutting teeth 24 penetrate the wave crests of the ridge and ridge cover strip 30, which are directed downwards in the drawing, from an inner or concave side of the wave crests, the cut edges are formed into collars which protrude from the convex side of the wave crests and surround the incisions 38 which are widened into ventilation openings ,
- the drive of the rollers 12, 16, 22 of the device 10 is provided with a common electric motor, not shown, which drives the rollers 12, 16, 22 via gear transmissions or chain drives (not shown).
- the rollers 12, 16, 22 all have the same (nominal) diameter and are driven at the same speed. They are mechanically synchronized by the gear or chain drive. It would also be conceivable to pull the metal strip 28 through the device 10 in the direction of passage behind the cutting roller 22 and the counter roller 16 with drive rollers which have a corrugation corresponding to the shaping rollers 12 and not to drive the rollers 12, 16, 22 shown (not shown). , In this case, the synchronization of the cutting roller 22 with the shaping rollers 12 takes place via the corrugation 32 of the metal strip 28.
- the incisions 38 are located in a ventilation area 40 running in the longitudinal direction of the ridge and ridge covering strip 30.
- This ventilation area 40 is located laterally outside the bending beads 34, to which it is directly connected.
- the ventilation area 40 ends at a distance from the longitudinal edge of the ridge and ridge cover strip 30.
- the ridge and ridge cover strip 30 has a longitudinal side strip 42 on the side outside of the ventilation area 40, which has no incisions or ventilation openings.
