  • the leaves pass first first screen cylinder 7 where they are partially printed in a first color, then they pass the second screen cylinder 8 where they are printed in a different color in at least one area not superimposed, therefore outside the areas printed by the first screen cylinder 7, without first having a drying of the areas printed by cylinder 7 is necessary.
  • printing is done by conventional means, that is, the ink is introduced to inside each of the screen cylinders and when from the rotation of the cylinder it flows inside and is pushed by a corresponding doctor blade, or other device equivalent, to pass through the sieve representing the drawing to print.
  • the aforementioned offset of the different colored areas is obtained by the fact that the screen cylinder 8 has at least one raised part on which is arranged a sieve allowing the printing of the second zone, the whole being positioned and sized for that the raised part (s) of the screen cylinder 8 do not come into contact with the areas printed by cylinder 7, which is of a construction as already proposed by the applicant.
  • the second screen cylinder 8 according to the present invention can be realized according to three constructions different, as shown in the following figures; this second door screen cylinder, according to the first embodiment, reference 18, according to the second embodiment, reference 28 and according to the third form of execution, reference 48.
  • FIG. 2 shows, according to the first embodiment, a screen cylinder 18 provided with raised parts 19 which have the form of concentric rings at the cylinder 18, arranged axially apart from each other others, as best shown in Figure 8.
  • a screen cylinder 18 provided with raised parts 19 which have the form of concentric rings at the cylinder 18, arranged axially apart from each other others, as best shown in Figure 8.
  • the front edge of which is adapted to the shape of the inner periphery of the screen cylinder 18, and therefore has the shape of a comb, whose teeth 12a correspond, both in dimension only in arrangement, to the annular parts 19 embossed to push the ink during printing to through the sieve covering the raised parts 19.
  • the screen cylinder 28 according to the second form as shown in Figures 4 and 9, is provided of raised parts in the form of axial zones 29, spaced apart from each other and spanning the entire length of the cylinder and on which a sieve.
  • the doctor blade 13 mounted inside this cylinder 28 is a conventional doctor blade as shown Figure 5, the front edge is straight. Because axial raised areas of the cylinder 28, this doctor blade 13 is provided with a device allowing it to retract as the cylinder rotates 28 to pass the recessed parts between the zones in relief 29.
  • Figures 6 and 8 in which there is shown schematically the two screen cylinders 7 and 18 as well as a printed sheet of paper 40 shown in Figure 8 in development.
  • the diameter of the screen cylinder 7 and 18 is equal to a third of the diameter of the printing cylinder 6, whose surface corresponds to three leaves.
  • the machine according to FIG. 6 comprises the printing cylinder 6 provided with three rows of pliers 31 housed in notches 30, said clamps 31 being intended to hold the anterior end of a sheet 40 which comes from the transfer cylinder 5 (figure 1) to pass it in front of the two cylinders screen holder 7 and 18.
  • the screen holder cylinder 7 is type proposed in European patent application 0 723 864, and allows conventional printing of the character "a" in a specific color on each bank note printing.
  • This cylinder 7 is provided on its axis of a cam 17 rotating with it and acting on a lever in the form of a square 15, one end of which is provided with a roller 16 corresponding with the cam 17, this angle being under the action of a spring not shown pushing it radially outside towards the sieve.
  • doctor blade by other means including a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder controlled by an electronic, electromechanical device, etc.
  • the paper 40 passes in front of the second cylinder screen holder 18 for printing the second zone constituted by the character "B".
  • This cylinder 18 is provided with annular raised portions 19 on each from which a sieve is stretched with the drawing to be printed, in this case the letter "B".
  • the raised portions 19 of cylinder 18 are laterally offset in relation to the printing areas of the cylinder 7 including the letter "a”. So when passing from the sheet 40 between the cylinders 6 and 18, the zones already printed by cylinder 7, do not come in contact with cylinder 18 since these areas comprising the "a" are in front of the recessed spaces between two annular zones 19. Thus, the impression can be done in a single pass using the same cylinder without waiting for the printed areas by the cylinder 7 are dried beforehand.
  • This arrangement of the annular zones allows printing zones offset perpendicular to the direction of moving paper 40.
  • doctor blade 12 Inside the screen cylinder 18 is the doctor blade 12, as illustrated in FIG. 3, in the form of a comb with teeth 12a; this doctor blade 12 is mounted, as in the case of the first screen cylinder 7, with one end of a square 21 articulated at its top around a fixed axis 20 and bearing at its other end a roller 22 which is in permanent contact with the surface of a cam 23 provided with a projecting part 23a.
  • This cam 23 therefore has the same configuration as the cam 17 of cylinder 7 and acts for the same purpose, namely remove the doctor blade 12 from the inside of the screen when passing in front of the printing slot of a notches 30 of the printing cylinder 6.
  • the second embodiment according to Figures 7 and 9 allows the printing of zones, in the form of characters "a” and "B", offset in the direction of movement of the sheets of paper 41 which again have 5 x 9 ticket prints.
  • the screen cylinder 7, with its doctor blade, its square and the cam 17, 17a, is identical to that of figure 6 and prints the first zones with the letter "a”; the printing cylinder 6 also the same construction as that described in relation with figure 6.
  • the second screen cylinder 28 comprising axial raised areas 29 extending over its entire length has a sieve on each of the parts relief 29 for printing the letter "B" in a other color than the letter "a". This impression is, as can be seen on sheet 41 (figure 9) printed offset in the direction of paper movement.
  • the doctor blade 13 is controlled by a cam 27 fixed to the axis of the cylinder 28 and rotating in synchronism with this one. This doctor blade 13 is fixed at one end a square 25 articulated at its top on an axis fixed 24 and provided at its other end with a roller 26 in permanent contact with a cam 27.
  • this cam 27 reproduces, on a smaller scale, the outline of the screen cylinder 28, in negative, to allow the guide of the doctor blade 13 inside said cylinder 28 so that the doctor blade 13 follows the configuration inside the periphery of cylinder 28. It is provided at the periphery of this cam 27 a portion protruding 27a, corresponding to the part not in relief 28a of the cylinder 28 adapted to a notch 30 of the cylinder 6 and still pushing the print slot simultaneously with one of these notches 30, for remove the doctor blade 13 during the passage. The rest of the periphery of this cam has projecting parts 27b which correspond to the parts 28b located between the raised parts 29 of the cylinder 28.
  • Figure 10 shows the third embodiment, a screen cylinder 48, provided with a screen 49 capable of be elastically deformed.
  • a doctor blade 51 secured to a bracket 52, one end of which is provided with a roller guide 53 collaborating with a cam 50 driven in synchronous rotation with the cylinder 48.
  • the bracket 52 is subjected to the action of a spring pushing the cam 51 radially against the screen 49.
  • the top of the square 52 is articulated at a fixed point 54.
  • the purpose of the cam 50 is to guide the doctor blade 51 as for the first cylinder screen holder 7, so that it moves away from the printing slot when a notch 30 in the cylinder 6 is located in the printing slot.
  • the cylinder screen holder 48 has no raised part, but the raised parts are created in the slot printing by the collaboration of the front edge doctor blade 51 which has teeth 51a and the possibility to elastically deform the screen 49.
  • areas that are in contact with the printing cylinder 6 are the zones of the screen 49 located under the pressure of the teeth 51a of the doctor blade 51.
  • the parts set back 51b of the doctor blade correspond to the printed areas by cylinder 7 or areas you don't want not print, the screen 49 in these areas does not not in contact with the printing cylinder 6. It is obviously essential that the screen 49 does not enter contact with the areas already printed because the ink has not not had time to dry and the dimensions of these zones 51b of the doctor blade are provided accordingly.
  • the screen cylinder 48 is provided between two zones consecutive printing of two distance rings 55.
  • the role of these rings is to ensure that the sieve under the push of the doctor blade 51 will not enter parts in contact with the printing cylinder.
  • the rings 55 have a diameter less than the diameter allowing contact of the screen 49 with the printing cylinder.
  • the rings 55 are located preferably at the ends of areas not in front not come into contact with the printing cylinder.
  • the rings 55 are arranged, preferably but not exclusively on the outside surface of the screen.
  • the invention is not limited to embodiments which have just been described and other variants could be considered, particularly with regard to the configuration of the raised parts of the second screen cylinder, as well as the means to move the doctor blades radially inside these cylinders. Furthermore, the invention also relates to roll printing machines.
