- a tricycle sports wheelchair from Sopur with a frame which has a rear axle tube connecting the axles of the rear wheels, from which a central, approximately horizontal side member extends forward.
- Side members are two plates in front as a footrest and in front of the footrest, that is foremost on the side member, the front wheel arranged.
- Lateral, longitudinally extending seat tubes are on this cross member appropriate.
- the disadvantage of this wheelchair is its partially lack of lateral stability, which is due to the specific frame construction.
- Another tricycle sports wheelchair from Off.Carr namely the Top Spin model
- the frame stability slightly better, as it instead of diagonally backwards upwards directed side member of the wheelchair described above two from the attachment point of the front wheel, directed obliquely backwards upwards and outwards, has a V-forming carrier, the free ends of which are bent below the seat are and form obliquely rearward and downward side members which a seat is installed. Additional struts connect the side rails with the central, horizontal side member and with the axle tube, and this too additional struts are connected.
- the frame of this wheelchair is as already mentioned, a little more stable than the frame of the former wheelchair, but has the disadvantage of a very complicated, complex construction.
- the inclination of the seat should be adjustable.
- Various wheelchairs are known, in which the inclination of the seat is adjusted leaves, however, they have the disadvantage that adjustments of the seat are not independent can be performed by other elements. So it requires a change the inclination of the seat in general the reassembly of certain other parts of the wheelchair.
- a bike is a device with a front wheel, a drive and a steering.
- the wheelchair is attached to the bike and forms together with the bike a motor-driven unit.
- This unit runs on three Wheels, namely the wheel of the bike, which forms a driving wheel arranged at the front, and the rear racks of the wheelchair, which form rear wheels.
- This arrangement is weighty Disadvantage, namely the tendency of the wheelchair and thus the unit, to tip backwards.
- the wheelchair with front wheel carrier according to the invention has a very simple U-like, but three-dimensional integral support with free ends are connected to the axle tube, creating a closed and therefore very stable frame arises.
- the U-like integral support is shaped so that the middle leg of the U is a Cross member is which is the front wheel carrier for attaching the front wheel device forms the adjoining parts of the lateral legs of the U approximately vertically and are directed approximately parallel to the longitudinal median plane of the wheelchair, and the ends of the free Form legs of the U side member or at least approximately parallel to the direction of travel are arranged. Because of this frame construction, which develops a spring effect the driving behavior of the new wheelchair very comfortable and light, so that it is the user gives the feeling of being able to overcome uneven terrain almost on the fly.
- a front wheel device used with a single, central front wheel.
- the fourth wheel with the bracket of the fork is saved, which is advantageous in terms of weight and cost.
- the front wheel device Especially for wheelchairs in which the front wheel device only has a single front wheel or two front wheels mounted very close to each other, is the footprint of the wheelchair in principle less than with a conventional wheelchair with side-mounted Front wheels.
- the front wheel In order to have the largest possible footprint and therefore one To maintain high stability, it is advantageous to arrange the front wheel so that it forms the front part of the wheelchair.
- the front wheel attachment not at the bottom or at the rear but at the front of the front wheel carrier.
- the arrangement of the front wheel attachment on the front of the front wheel carrier helps one another advantage.
- the space behind the front wheel carrier is free and offers space for one continuous, comfortable, not divided by a longitudinal front wheel carrier Footrest.
- Arrangement in front of the footrest also protects the front wheel carrier Footrest or for the user's feet resting on the footrest; this works turns out to be beneficial since most users have no nerves due to their infirmity and thus have no sensitivity to pain in the foot and leg area, so that no warning Pain occurs before major injuries that occur when the feet are struck the forward movement of the wheelchair can occur.
- the position of the footrest is preferably selectable, both with respect to it Distance from the front wheel carrier as well as their height and their Angle of inclination.
- the footrest can be attached to foot braces attached to the Inclined beams are mounted and their dimensions and mounting height the distance of the Determine the footrest of the cross member and the height of the footrest.
- foot struts with different dimensions always the same foot braces are installed at different heights.
