Definitions
- the invention relates to a cooling plate for shaft furnaces provided with a refractory lining, in particular blast furnaces, consisting of copper or a low-alloy copper alloy with coolant channels arranged in their interior, the cooling plate being made from a forged or rolled ingot and the cooling channels being arranged as vertically running blind bores .
- Such cooling plates are usually arranged between the furnace shell and the furnace lining and connected to the cooling system of the shaft furnace. On the side facing the inside of the furnace, the cooling elements are partially provided with refractory material.
- a cooling plate is known in which the cooling channels are formed by pipes cast in cast iron and the lower edge of the plate body is designed as a support lug for the refractory masonry.
- the support nose is also connected to the cooling system.
- Plates made of cast copper are also known, in which the cooling channels are either formed by cast pipes or are cast directly.
- the structure of cast copper is not as homogeneous and dense as that of forged or rolled copper. As a result, the heat conduction of copper casting is poorer and the strength is lower.
- an oxide layer between the pipe and the copper block prevents heat conduction.
- a cooling plate which is made from a forged or rolled ingot and where the cooling channels are vertical blind holes which are made by deep mechanical drilling.
- the structure of the cooling plate is much denser and more homogeneous than that of a cast copper plate; Blowholes, as they often occur with cast copper plates, are excluded.
- the strength values are higher and the thermal conductivity is more uniform and higher than that of the cast copper plates.
- the target position of the holes according to height and side is adhered to exactly, thereby ensuring even heat dissipation.
- the cooling plate is lined with refractory bricks or with a refractory ramming compound on the side facing the furnace interior. This reduces the cooling surface of the plate and, in the event of wear or loss of the refractory furnace lining, the heat removal from the furnace is limited. Furthermore, the cooling of the plate should be so intensive that the temperature of the hot plate side is kept well below the softening temperature of copper.
- a cooling plate made from a forged or rolled copper ingot in which cooling channels are introduced to cool the edge zones in addition to the vertical blind holes, which are vertical or horizontal blind holes of smaller diameter around the vertically arranged blind holes in the edges are introduced.
- a disadvantage of these rolled or forged copper cooling plates is, however, that the load-bearing capacity of the masonry or the facing masonry at the head ends of the cooling plate is not optimal and the service life of the refractory ramming masses or ff-stones is therefore not sufficient.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a cooling plate in which the reinforced head ends are included in the cooling system and the heat dissipation in this area of the plates is also carried out uniformly and homogeneously, so that there is also an improved cooling of the refractory furnace lining and the furnace shell is guaranteed.
- an additional cooling element is therefore detachably attached to the forged or rolled copper cooling plate in the upper or lower area, into which vertical and horizontal blind bores are made. These vertical and horizontal blind bores are sealed in a known manner at the ends by welded or soldered plugs and connected to the blast furnace cooling system via copper pipe sockets.
- a bead for the refractory masonry can also be forged from the copper raw block, the drilling of the vertical and horizontal cooling tubes in this bead takes place in the known manner.
- Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the cooling plate (1) with, for example, four vertically arranged blind holes (2, 3) and with the vertical (5) and horizontal (6) blind holes introduced in the cooling element (4).
- the cooling water for the blind bores (3) is supplied from below via the pipe attachments (2) connected to the coolant supply lines, and for the vertical and horizontal blind bores (5, 6) of the cooling element (4) also via pipe sections (2).
- the cooling circuits of the cooling plate (1) and the cooling element (4) are connected to the cooling system of the blast furnace as separate cooling circuits.
- Fig. 2 shows a section through the cooling plate (1) with the vertically arranged blind holes (3), which are known Are closed at the lower end by welding or soldering points.
- the cooling water is supplied and removed via the pipe sections (2).
- cooling plate (1) In the upper part of the cooling plate (1) there is a detachable cooling segment (4) into which vertical (5) and horizontal blind bores (6) are made.
- the horizontal blind bores (6) are also arranged in the cooling plate (1) in order to ensure the cooling water supply and discharge via the pipe attachments (2) through the wall of the blast furnace shell (10).
- grooves (8) are worked into the cooling plate (1) and into the cooling element (4) on the side facing the inside of the furnace, each of which is delimited by webs (7) become.
- Fig. 3 shows a cooling plate (1) with a bead (9) forged from the ingot, in which vertical (5) and horizontal (6) blind holes are made.
- the horizontal blind bores (6) are connected to the cooling circuit of the blast furnace by means of pipe extensions (2) through the wall of the blast furnace shell (10).

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1
- einen Längsschnitt durch die Kühlplatte
- Fig. 2
