Definitions

  • the invention relates to the use of defined detergent mixtures as self-thickening non-ionic surfactant components for the production of cleaning agents based on cationic surfactants.
  • AZR all-purpose cleaners
  • Low-foaming AZR are those that develop a small volume of foam when used manually, which decreases significantly further within a few minutes.
  • Means of this kind have been known for a long time and are established on the market.
  • These are essentially aqueous surfactant solutions of various types with or without the addition of builders, hydrotropes or solvents.
  • a disinfectant effect is often also desirable, which is why agents of this type usually contain cationic surfactants as active ingredients, in particular those with two long and two short alkyl chains.
  • agents of the type mentioned are usually formulated with low-foaming nonionic surfactants, for example mixed ethers or alcohol alkoxylates, in particular oxo alcohol ethoxylates. All-purpose cleaners based on cationic surfactants and alcohol ethoxylates are difficult to thicken. Usually, considerable amounts of carboxymethyl cellulose, fatty acid alkanolamides and / or electrolyte salts must be added to regulate the viscosity, which can adversely affect the property profile of the agents.
  • the object of the invention was therefore to provide low-foaming cleaning agents To provide the basis of cationic surfactants that are free from the disadvantages described.
  • the invention relates to the use of mixtures of
  • the agents obtainable within the meaning of the invention are not only are low foaming and have an excellent cleaning and disinfection performance but by adding the selected non-ionic surfactant mixture without using it typical thickeners have a sufficiently high viscosity, even after prolonged storage preserved.
  • quaternary ammonium compounds are usually suitable as cationic compounds, ie derivatives of ammonium ion preferably with two long and two short alkyl chains, such as, for example, dimethyldistearylammonium chloride.
  • Quaternary benzylammonium compounds of the formula (III) are preferably used in which R 3 and R 4 independently of one another are an optionally hydroxy-substituted alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R 5 is an alkyl and / or alkenyl radical with 12 to 22 carbon atoms, Ph is a phenyl radical and X is halide. Typical examples of these are dimethyldodecylbenzylammonium chloride and bromide.
  • the all-purpose cleaners can contain the cationic surfactants in amounts of 1 to 5, preferably 2 to 3% by weight, based on the detergents.
  • the nonionic surfactants are used as a self-thickening mixture of strictly linear fatty alcohol and more or less branched oxoalcohol-EO adducts.
  • Both types of ethoxylate are known substances which are produced on an industrial scale by base-catalyzed ethoxylation of primary alcohols.
  • the ethoxylates can have a conventional or narrow homolog distribution. Accordingly, addition products of an average of 1 to 10 mol of ethylene oxide onto fatty alcohols having 12 to 18 carbon atoms are suitable as component (a).
  • Fatty alcohol polyethylene glycol ethers of the formula (I) are preferably used in which R 1 is an alkyl radical having 12 to 14 carbon atoms and m is a number from 1 to 4. Typical examples of this are adducts of 2, 3 or 4 mol ethylene oxide with lauryl alcohol or technical C 12/14 coconut fatty alcohol. Addition products of an average of 1 to 10 moles of ethylene oxide onto oxo alcohols with 11 to 15 carbon atoms are suitable as component (b).
  • oxo alcohol is to be understood as primary alcohols which are prepared by hydrogenation of aldehydes from Rolen's oxosynthesis and which have a proportion of branched homologues of usually 15 to 25% by weight.
  • Oxoalcohol polyethylene glycol ethers of the formula (II) are preferably used, in which R 2 represents an alkyl radical having 11 to 13 carbon atoms and n represents numbers from 5 to 10. Typical examples are the adducts of 5, 7 or 9 moles of ethylene oxide with a technical C 11/13 oxo alcohol cut.
  • the proportion of the polyethylene glycol ethers can total 5 to 10, preferably 6 to 8% by weight, based on the composition.
  • the low-foaming cleaning agents according to the invention can contain other conventional ingredients contain. These include, for example, solubilizers, such as ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, Ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol or preferably butyl diglycol, foam regulators such as, for example Soaps or mixed ethers as well as soluble builders, such as citric acid or sodium citrate, EDTA or NTA.
  • solubilizers such as ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, Ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol or preferably butyl diglycol
  • foam regulators such as, for example Soaps or mixed ethers as well as soluble builders, such as citric acid or sodium citrate, EDTA or NTA.
  • the proportion of these additives can be 1 to 8, preferably 4 to 6% by weight on the means - make up.
  • the agents are preferred by adding sodium hydroxide and / or soda is made alkaline, a pH in the range from 9 to 10 being preferred.
  • the active substance content the average can be between 20 and 80% by weight and depends on whether a Concentrate is desired by the consumer before cleaning to the application concentration is diluted or a correspondingly diluted agent is to be marketed. In the latter case the active substance content is typically around 20% by weight. It is for making the funds sufficient to mix the feed materials purely mechanically if necessary at elevated temperature; there is no chemical reaction.
  • the viscosity of the formulations 1 and 2 according to the invention and of the comparison formulations V1 to V3 was determined after storage at 40 ° C. over a period of 24 hours and 2, 8, 12 and 26 weeks using a Brookfield viscometer (model RVT, spindle no. 1 , 12 rpm). The results are summarized in Table 1; the quantities are understood as% by weight.
