Definitions

  • the present invention relates to small devices for removing hair from superfluous hairs of the type comprising in an elongated housing and capable of being held in the hand, a depilation head comprising a rotary hair removal roller fitted with a drive shaft, several series of epilation blades as well as means ensuring periodically the pinching of the hairs to be plucked, at least once per turn of the roller.
  • the pinching of the bristles is carried out against one of the faces of the rotating discs, and this, by the blades of a movable comb which are nested between these discs.
  • Appropriate means are then provided to ensure periodically the axial displacement of this comb in order to apply the pinch blades of it against the rotating discs for trap the hairs to be plucked. These are then torn from the rotates the hair removal roller.
  • the housing of the device known from patent FR 2,556,939 is subdivided into two half-shells following a median plane passing through the shaft of the rotary roller and the axis of the drive motor, a partition oblique transverse integral with a housing half-shell separating almost entirely inside the case in two compartments, one of which contains the rotary roller and the other the drive motor.
  • the present invention aims to achieve a device of the same general type as that previously defined, but which, pinches the hairs to be pulled between two discs or successive blades with improved efficiency.
  • the apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that the epilation blades are mounted movably on the drive shaft so to be able to pivot each around a separate axis perpendicular to the axis of said drive shaft, that at one of its ends, the housing is closed by a cover provided with an opening and constituting for the epilation head a removable frame relative to the housing, and that the ends of the shaft of the epilation head are mounted in bearings of rotation provided in two flanges integral with said removable frame.
  • the mounting of the blades can be carried out with greater tolerance without suffering the regularity of the pinching which only depends on the precision of the mechanical means roller blade actuation.
  • the blades roller can be positioned so as to have a gap relatively large facilitating the engagement of the bristles between these blades, this which greatly increases the efficiency of the device.
  • the design of the housing cover as a removable roller frame rotary and bearings of the latter makes it easier to assemble the different components of said roller and the mounting thereof in the housing.
  • the case of the hair removal device known from patent FR 2,556,939 includes, of course, also a removable cover. But in this case, it is not used only to allow the evacuation of hairs that have fallen into the compartment housing containing the rotary roller without the latter being removable in same time as this cover.
  • the drive shaft of the epilation blades has a section polygonal so as to have two pairs of opposite faces, one of which first pair of opposite faces is associated with holding members for the epilation blades and opposite each side of the other pair opposite sides are slidably mounted parallel to the axis of the drive shaft the actuating members of said blades hair removal.
  • Each epilation blade with an opening crossed by the shaft drive is engaged in a transverse groove of the corresponding maintenance, within which it has a freedom of travel allowing it to pivot about an axis perpendicular to the training tree.
  • each transverse groove usefully comprises, in the middle of each of its opposite walls, a transverse rib, the two ribs of each groove materializing the pivot axis of the blade corresponding hair removal.
  • the holding members are constituted by strips which are applied against the faces of the first pair of faces opposite of the drive shaft and which include the grooves transverse in each of which is pivotally mounted one of the hair removal blades.
  • Each blade in a series of blades is coupled to a strip by through a transverse groove made in the bar and a tooth provided on the corresponding blade and engaged in one of the grooves while on the side of the opening of the removable frame and the head of a bar of the rotary roller, at least one roller or cam is provided capable of cause, in the direction of pinching the hairs, the displacement of said bar against a return spring each time it arrives opposite this roller during the rotation of said rotary roller.
  • the hair removal device advantageously comprises at least one pair bars, each bar of which is slidably mounted parallel to the drive shaft and has a series of transverse grooves offset from the series of grooves in the other bar, so that all epilation blades are coupled alternately with one or the other of the two bars of a pair of bars, which are likely to be actuated by one or other of the corresponding rollers or cams of so as to move in opposite directions to each other in order to rotate in reverse two successive epilation blades and ensure the tightening of their respective parts lying at the place of the work surface and thus the pinching of the hairs.
  • the drive shaft carries two pairs of bars for actuation of the epilation blades, these two pairs of bars being sliding mounted against two opposite sides of this tree training.
  • the epilation blades each have a central opening of polygonal section whose shape is such that it allows passage at the same time drive shaft, crimps and bars, while the edge parts of this opening, located opposite the strips are engaged in transverse grooves for pivoting these strips, the edge of this opening also having projecting teeth engaged alternately in grooves of one and the other bars of a pair of bars.
  • Each epilation blade can have at least one protruding area pinch bordered by two recessed parts facilitating the engagement of hairs inside the rotary hair removal roller.
  • the device shown has a small box 1 that can be hand-held and inside which all the organs are contained mechanics of this device.
  • This case has an elongated shape and one of its ends is closed by a cover 2 constituting in some the frame of the working head or the epilation head of the device. So this epilation head is removable relative to the housing 1.
  • the cover 2 has an elongated opening 3 behind which is located a rotary depilation roller 4.
  • This consists of a series of thin blades arranged one after the other on a tree 6, and designated alternately by the references 5a and 5b.
  • the drive of this rotating shaft is provided by a small motor electric 7 via a gear reduction train 8, or another mechanical system for obtaining optimum speed.
  • This motor is powered by an electric battery 9, also housed inside of the housing 1.
  • the motor shaft 7 is equipped with a rotor 10 of turbine so as to create an overpressure inside the housing 1 in order to oppose the penetration of plucked hairs, through orifice 11 of passage of one of the drive pinions of the drive shaft 6.
  • the drive shaft 6 of the epilation head is disposed between two flanges 12 integral with the cover 2 and which include the bearings of rotation of the ends of this tree. As it appears in Figures 5 and 7, it has a polygonal section, for example square. Against two opposite faces of this shaft are arranged two flat strips 13 intended to serve as members for holding the epilation blades 5a, 5b. against each of the other two faces of this tree are placed two bars 14a, 14b, or respectively 15a, 15b, which are mounted sliding parallel to the axis of the shaft 6. As will be explained by thereafter, these bars constitute the means for actuating the blades depilation 5a, 5b to periodically cause the tightening of their zone of pinching.
  • each of them does not have the shape of circular contour discs. Indeed, as shown in Figure 11, each of them has at its periphery two projecting parts 16 arranged diametrically opposite and intended to constitute the pinch zones of the corresponding blade. Relative to circle C circumscribed around the set, so there are somehow two recessed portions 26 between the protruding portions 16. This has the effect of facilitate the engagement of the hairs inside the hair removal roller. Outside protruding parts 16, each blade may have a circular outline or other, this contour being determined so as to facilitate the engagement of hairs to be pulled between the blades.
  • the sliding bars 14a, 14b and 15a, 15b of each pair for their part have a series of transverse grooves 20. However, in each pair of such bars, there is a mismatch between the grooves of one and the other corresponding bars.
  • blades 5 they have, on the edge of their central opening 17, a protruding tooth 21a for the blades 5a and 21b for the blades 5b.
  • the teeth 21a of the blades 5a are engaged in the grooves 20 of the two bars 14a and 15a.
  • the teeth 21b of the blades 5b they are engaged in the grooves 20 of the bars 14b and 15b. So the blades are combined alternately with one and the other of the two sliding bars of the same pair.
  • Each sliding bar 14a, 14b or 15a, 15b carries a head of maneuver 22a or 22b, and in each pair 14a, 14b or 15a, 15b, the head for example 22a of one 14a of the strips 14a, 14b is located at a end and the head for example 22b of the other bar 14b at the end opposite.
  • the head for example 22a of one 14a of the strips 14a, 14b is located at a end and the head for example 22b of the other bar 14b at the end opposite.
  • springs 24 provided at the ends of the sliding bars 14a, 14b; 15a, 15b tend to maintain these normally in positions ensuring normally maintaining a spacing between the different blades 5a and 5b.
  • springs 24 provided for ends of the bars as in the example shown in Figure 6, it is possible to provide a single spring disposed in the middle.
  • the arrangement is such that the clamping zones are tightened 16 takes place while these are located opposite opening 3 of the cover 2 of the epilation head.
  • X-X 'pivot axes of the blades hair removal are then arranged in a substantially parallel plane tangent to the working surface of the rotary roller in contact with the skin. However, there may be an angular shift in one direction or in the other.
  • the diagram in Figure 8 illustrates the different successive phases bringing the pinch zones 16 of the blades closer and apart hair removal.
  • the reference F indicates the closing phase of these pinch zones
  • the reference P the actual phase of tightening
  • the reference O the opening phase.
  • the hairs to be plucked engage between the projecting parts 16 of the epilation blades during phase F before tightening.
  • these hairs are pinched between the protruding areas of two successive blades during phase P and during this phase the rotary movement of the rotary epilation roller 4 hair removal has the effect of plucking pinched hairs.
  • these are found ejected by centrifugal force during the opening phase of the pinch 16 of the epilation blades.
  • the control strips 14a, 14b and 15a, 15b can have an action indirect, as provided in the diagram in Figure 10.
  • the rollers 23a, 23b are arranged in a diametrically opposite position relative to the axis Y-Y 'of the drive shaft 6. The arrangement is then such that the control strips act in opposite directions, depending on the arrows F2 and F3, on two successive blades 5a and 5b so as to separate their corresponding parts. This causes these blades to pivot as previously so that their pinching parts 16, located on the side opposite, are pressed against each other. The operation is therefore thus the same as in the previous case.
  • the rollers 23a and 23b can be replaced by cams or all other suitable members capable of causing the displacement of the bars pivot control 14a, 14b and 15a, 15b whenever these come next to these organs.
  • the angular position of these cams or control rollers is determined so that the tightening pinching zones of the epilation blades are performed at the right time by function of the ergonomic position of the device in relation to the skin depilate. It is possible to provide only one pinching of the epilation blades per rotation tower. But conversely, it is also possible to provide a number of pinches greater than two during each turn in using more pairs of control strips.
  • the pinch discs need only be differently coupled with the control strips of the different pairs of bars.
  • the arrangement can be such that the first pair of bars acts on the discs in the positions 1 and 2, etc., while the second pair acts on the discs found in positions 2 and 3, etc.
  • many variant embodiments can be considered, for example to increase the number of pinches per turn in order to reduce the speed of rotation of the epilation roller in the purpose of avoiding excessive brutality when pulling the hairs, and consequently a risk of breakage of these.
  • the tear blades may have a contour other than the blades 5a and 5b illustrated in the Figure 11 and which are provided in the apparatus shown in Figures 1 to 7.
  • Figure 13 shows a variant in which the blades corresponding 5d have a single projecting part 16d of pinching on either side of which two recessed zones 26d are provided.
  • the epilation head is designed to ensure only one pinching per rotation tower.
  • the recessed parts, provided between the pinch protrusions, are intended to facilitate the engagement of hairs to be torn off inside the hair removal roller. These parts have also intended to create a combing effect on the hairs which are thus driven oriented parallel to the blades, which is also likely to facilitate the engagement of the hairs between them.
  • the protruding parts in contact with the skin may be longer important than that of the actual pinch area (see par example the case of variants according to Figures 12 and 13). These parties to skin contact then serve to protect it.
  • an advantage of the device according to the invention lies in the ease of mounting the epilation head in the case, and in the pinching mode of the epilation blades by pivoting thanks to which it is possible to provide an initial spacing relatively important between the different blades, which facilitates the penetration of the hairs inside the hair removal roller. Furthermore, this solution has the advantage to be much simpler than that provided in the device mentioned previously and in which there is a movable comb ensuring the nipping the bristles against the blades of the rotating roller.
