- the invention relates to a container with a pressure compensation device consisting of a container body, a container lid and at least one closure element consisting essentially of a threaded bolt, by means of which the container lid can be fixed on the container body.
- spring safety valves are known. These work on the principle that a sealing cone is raised against the force of a spring. There are different designs here, which differ in the articulation of the sealing cone or its kinematics. In the known spring safety valves, the valve is opened in that the internal pressure and the force associated therewith overcomes the counterpressure of the spring which presses the sealing cone into its seat.
- this principle has the disadvantage that such safety valves are more or less directly connected to the ingredients, especially if the structural conditions do not permit any other solution. If the valves of this type are used, for example, in special waste containers, they must be mounted on the lid of the respective container in order to enable proper functioning.
- the spring safety valves also have the disadvantage that they are very susceptible to contamination. Another disadvantage is that they are expensive to build and are therefore very expensive to purchase if they are to work in small pressure areas. Furthermore, if a container is retrofitted accordingly, it often has to be structurally changed.
- rupture disks Another known system for avoiding internal pressures is the so-called rupture disks. These rupture disks consist of a membrane with a much thinner material than other system parts. If there is now a negative pressure or positive pressure in the container, the membrane deforms in such a way that it bursts when a previously defined pressure is exceeded. Since even slight effects of corrosion, which are insignificant for other components, would lead to premature bursting in the case of a rupture disc, these are always made of corrosion-resistant materials, e.g. Monell, tantalum or VA steel. The disadvantage of this system is that the rupture discs are destroyed after a single response. In addition, the bursting of such a rupture disc can e.g. cause the material contained in the container to escape during transport of the container.

- the cover 14 presses against the force of the plate spring 20 via the tab 28 and the threaded bolt 16 Force on the lid is greater than force opposed by the spring 20 or a plurality of springs 20, the lid 14 is raised slightly. This creates a gap between the container edge 38 and the sealing rubber 36, so that pressure equalization with the surrounding atmosphere is made possible. As soon as the excess pressure is released, the lid lowers again.
