Definitions

  • the invention relates to a razor head with a plastic body with a cover cap and a front protective strip, which form a surface for attacking the skin of the user and in the plastic body a razor blade unit is arranged with at least one cutting edge, with a row of wires above and at right angles to this extend at least one cutting edge of the blade unit.
  • a razor head which carries the single or double razor blade, is arranged at the front end of a handle.
  • the razor head can be integrally formed with the handle in the form of a molded plastic part. If the razor head is designed separately from the handle and can be exchangeably attached to it by means of a corresponding mechanism, one speaks of a so-called razor blade unit, in which a single or double razor blade is embedded in a plastic housing so that it cannot be detached.
  • a razor head in the form of such a razor blade unit is disclosed in EP-A 0 389 007.
  • a wire with a number of adjacent turns is wound around the plastic body in which the double razor blade is embedded.
  • the individual turns extend at a distance from one another and parallel to the shaving direction, while the turns extend on the underside of the plastic body at an angle thereto.
  • This characteristic winding protective wire improves the Shaving characteristics.
  • the wire prevents, for example, the formation of wrinkles or swellings on the skin, so that injuries to the skin can also be prevented in areas which are not perceptible to the eye.
  • the wire reduces the actual shaving resistance because it reduces the frictional forces.
  • the protective wire still prevents the user from accidentally cutting himself if he improperly handles the razor blade unit.
  • a generic razor head with the features described at the outset is disclosed in EP-A 0 453 718, a reproducible shaving geometry being able to be produced by a special design of the individual elements such as blade carrier and upper part with a front guide bar and rear cover cap.
  • This document already discloses a so-called curvature, the cutting edge of the at least one razor blade protruding from the plane of contact which is formed by the surfaces attacking the skin.
  • curvature the cutting edge of the at least one razor blade protruding from the plane of contact which is formed by the surfaces attacking the skin.
  • no connection is made between the type of curvature and a desired shaving geometry and the associated results.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a razor head, in particular a razor blade unit of a wet razor of the type mentioned, in which the geometric assignment of the parts of the razor head is improved with a simple assembly suitable for mass production.
  • the invention proposes a technical solution . that the at least one cutting edge protrudes beyond the contact plane by at least 0.02 mm, which is formed by the skin-attacking surfaces of the front protective strip and the rear cover cap, that the wires are arranged at least 2 mm apart and have a thickness of at least 0.1 mm have, and at least one of the contact lengths is at least 1mm and at most 5mm.
  • the protective wires are immovably connected to the blade unit so that there is no danger that the wires will move sideways during use.
  • a double razor blade it is proposed in a further development that the two razor blades are attached to both sides of a spacer arranged therebetween, the razor blade / spacer / razor blade unit thus formed being placed essentially from above on a platform or carrier unit of the plastic body .
  • the advantages noted in connection with a single razor blade are also applicable to this embodiment.
  • the razor head has a rear cover cap and a front protective strip, which is preferably provided with a graduated, longitudinal profile.
  • the protective wires in the area of the protective strip and the cover cap under these components and covered by them. Accordingly, the protective wires extend between the protective strip or the cover cap and the actual plastic body with its blade support unit. Alternatively, the wires can be embedded in the parts of the protective strip and the cover cap.
  • the function of the front protective strip in particular with its stepped, longitudinally extending profile, has not been impaired by the wire areas which reduce friction, since the front protective strip is required in particular to pretension the skin. The same is applicable to the function of the cover cap, which is not adversely affected by the protective wires extending thereon.
  • the protective strip and the cover cap are connected to one another via side walls, while a central opening remains in the region of the cutting edge or edges of the razor blade unit.
  • This upper part of the plastic body designed in this way is placed on the base part of the plastic body with its razor blade unit containing the protective wires, which is fixed to a support unit of the base part, and then securely connected to this base part.
  • this one-piece upper part which is formed from the front protective strip, the rear cover cap and the side strips, a simple construction of the razor head and in particular of the razor blade unit is created.
  • the single or in particular the double razor blade is fixed in the support unit of the base part, it is only necessary to place the upper part onto the base part essentially from above and to securely connect it to the base part. This can be done, for example, by meshing or any other appropriate way.
  • the position of the blades in relation to the surfaces attacking the skin, in particular the protective strip and the cover cap, is just as critical for the balance between brevity and safety. Decisive for this are the three factors bulging, length of contact and shaving angle.
  • the protrusion is the distance by which the cutting edges protrude beyond the plane of contact which is formed by the areas of the protective strip and the cover cap which attack the skin first. If two blades are used, each can have a different curvature.
  • the touch length can be different for each blade.
  • the contact length is the distance between the point of contact on the protective strip and the cutting edge of the lower blade.
  • the contact length is the distance between the cutting edge of the lower blade and the cutting edge of the upper blade.
  • the shaving angle is the angle between the plane of the blades and the plane of contact that is created by the points attacking the skin.
  • the bulge is in a range of 0.02 mm and 0.4 mm, the shaving angle in a range of 15 ° to 30 ° and the contact length in a range of 1 mm to 5 mm.
  • the risk of scratching the skin increases if the protrusion is too large.
  • a longer touch length improves the shortness of the shave.
  • the risk of wrinkles and swelling of the skin increases due to the entry between the protective strip and the blades, which increases the risk of accidental cutting. If protective wires are used, the problem of wrinkles and swellings is eliminated and there is the possibility of increasing the contact length.
  • the advantage of the invention is therefore to provide a razor head that enables a consistently safe and gentle as well as effective and short shave.
  • a razor head in the form of a so-called razor blade unit for a wet or safety razor which can be attached to the front end of a handle, not shown, consists of a plastic body 1, in which two razor blades 2 are arranged, the cutting edges 3 of which run parallel and offset one behind the other.
  • the plastic body 1 consists of a base part 4 with the razor blades 2 and an upper part 5 placed on this base part 4.
  • the base part 4 of the plastic body 1 initially has feed-through slots 6 in the interior.
  • the base part 4 defines a platform or carrying unit 7 for the razor blades 2.
  • the two razor blades 2 are firmly connected to this spacer 8.
  • These components thus form a razor blade / spacer / razor blade unit 9, which is placed on the carrying unit 7 of the base part 4 from above.
  • the spacer 8 comprises projections 17 which extend from the rear and the two ends of the spacer 8 and which are accommodated in indentations or slots 10 in the sides of the base part 4.
  • the projections 17 on both ends of the spacer 8 serve to precisely arrange the razor blade / spacer / razor blade unit 9 with respect to the base part 4 and in accordance with the skin attack surface. It can be seen that the blades 2 can be placed precisely with respect to the base part 4 by a variety of known possibilities.
  • the upper part 5 is a one-piece plastic component and initially has a front protective strip 18. This extends parallel to the cutting edges 3 of the razor blades 2 and has a step-like, longitudinally extending profile 19.
  • a cover cap 20 is provided in the rear area.
  • These usually have a sliding strip 21 on the top side.
  • This slide strip 21 is convexly curved and initially has a first slide strip leg 22 and a second slide strip leg 22 ′, which is angled at an acute angle thereto, and which are connected to one another by an arc 23.
  • the angle between the sliding strip legs 22, 22 ' can also be rectangular or obtuse.
  • the two glide strip legs 22, 22 ' are essentially flat or slightly convex. The production of such a sliding strip 21 is possible by means of a special hot molding process.
  • this sliding strip 21 is also better on the rear edge of the razor blade unit takes effect. Because the skin is stretched and pressed in during shaving, swelling develops at the end of the razor blade unit. The sliding strip 21 shaped in the radius slides better in this area and thus increases the gentle shave.
  • the front protective strip 18 and the rear cover cap 20 are connected to one another via side walls 24.
  • each blade 2 is fixed in relation to the parts of the razor head attacking the skin at a certain shaving angle A and each blade 2 usually has a special curvature P and contact length TL.
  • the shaving angle A is the angle between the plane of the blades 2 and the tangent connecting the protective strip 18 and the cover 20.
  • the bulge P1 of the lower blade is the distance that the lower blade protrudes beyond the contact plane that connects the protective strip 18 and the cover 20.
  • the bulge P2 is the distance by which the upper blade protrudes beyond the plane of contact that connects the protective strip and the cover cap 20.
  • the contact length TL1 of the lower blade is the distance between the point of contact on the protective strip 18 and the cutting edge of the lower blade.
  • the contact length TL2 is the distance between the cutting edges of the two blades.
  • the blade unit of the embodiment shown has a shaving angle A of the lower blade of 25 ° and a shaving angle A of the upper blade of 22 °.
  • the contact lengths TL1 and TL2 of the upper and lower blades are 1.5 mm and the protrusions P1 and P2 are 0.075 mm.
  • strong beard growth for example, good shaves with bulges P1 and P2 of 0.1 mm or greater and contact lengths of 2.0 mm or longer.
  • the razor head can have many shapes other than the one described.
  • the protrusions P1 and P2 and the contact lengths TL1 and TL2 can have different values.
  • the special shaving geometry described above achieves its special effect together with the wires 11, which extend over the cutting edges 3.
  • the wires 11 consist of a single wire which is wound around projections 14 on the base part 4.
  • wire strands can be welded or glued to the blades, or one-piece nets or grids can be used.
  • the wires 11 are arranged at a preferred distance from one another and have a preferred thickness so that the goals of comfort, safety and brevity can be achieved.
  • the preferred distance is at least 2 mm and the preferred thickness is at least 0.1 mm.
  • appropriate distances of 3 mm and thicknesses of 0.15 mm are preferred.
