Definitions
- the invention relates to a tent with a roof with a side border according to the preamble of the first claim.
- tents are with or without side walls for different purposes, including usable for open air parties, as parasols in the garden or on the beach or as rain protection. They can also be used as sales stands, e.g. be used at trade fairs. Depending on the weather, they can be equipped with one or more side walls.
- Tents of this type are e.g. in CH-A-675 446 (D1).
- the design according to D1 has proven itself well, but has the disadvantage that the sliding shoes tend to get stuck or a relatively large amount of force is required to move them.
- the high effort is particularly necessary if the tent has been stored in a damp place, for example during the winter months, for example in a garden shed or in a garage.
- the object of the invention is to provide a tent with a side border that does not have the disadvantages of the existing design.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to create a tent with a side border which does not have the disadvantages of the existing designs.
- the aluminum version described weighs about 40% less than a conventional steel version.
- the weight of the supporting structure or scaffold is 26 kg, compared to 46 kg previously. Nevertheless, the stability of the aluminum supporting structure has been significantly improved compared to previous versions with steel.
- cast iron or aluminum foot plates can greatly improve the stability of the tent.
- Fig. 1 shows a tent 1 set up in a garden without side walls, with seating arranged underneath, the tent 1 serving here primarily as a sun roof.
- the support structure 2 is shown in a slightly extended position, with four legs 3 retracted.
- the support structure 2 consists of a folded scissor structure which is pulled apart in two directions running perpendicular to one another to such an extent that it locks.
- FIG. 3 shows a further phase of pulling apart the folded tent 1, a sliding shoe 28 in each case encompassing the individual supporting legs 3 on all four side surfaces of the square profiles and sliding along these surfaces.
- the side surfaces have so far been worn, so that they have streaks and abrasion marks after a short time. This also led to corrosion and increased friction after the linkage had been stored in a garage for overwintering, for example.
- the sliding shoe 28 was provided on the inside opposite the surfaces of the legs with a covering 30 made of plastic, as shown in FIGS. 3a and 3b, which greatly reduces the friction against the surfaces of the legs 3.
- the covering 30 can either be glued to the four inner surfaces of the slide shoe or used by other measures. E.g. the covering 30 can be poured in. It is important that the plastic has high abrasion resistance and therefore a long service life. The covering covers the entire inner surface of the slide shoe and thus prevents it from corroding.
- the covering 30 made of plastic can be replaced.
- it consists of a four-sided tube with extensions at the two ends, which is slit in the longitudinal direction, so that it can be easily inserted and inserted into the sliding block can be glued or otherwise attached.
- the covering on the contact surfaces with these can have a shape which reduces the friction between the covering and the supporting leg profiles.
- This shape can consist, for example, of longitudinal grooves.
- the tent 1 can be provided with side walls 5, one side wall 5 being shown in FIG. 4 and two side walls 5 being shown in FIG.
- the type of attachment of the side walls 5 on or around the pillar 3 is shown in Fig. 6 a and b, wherein a the attachment of the side wall 5 of FIG. 4 around the pillar 3 by means of a Velcro tape 7 and b the attachment of the represents two side walls 5 of FIG. 5.
- the side walls 5 are fastened by means of hooks 9, which are provided by eyelets 10 on the lower edge of the side walls 5. If it is not necessary or desirable that the side walls 5 extend to the bottom, the lowermost edge can be folded upwards by pressing the folded-over part of the side wall 5 against the Velcro strip 11.
- the upper edge of the side walls 5 is fastened on the inside of the border 12 against a Velcro strip 15 (FIG. 7).
- the upper part e.g. in certain cases, however, the upper half of the border 12 can be kept open for viewing the tent, which is particularly the case in sales tents. If this is desired, the attachment to the border is released and the upper half of the side wall 5 is freely hung down.
- a lower side wall half can be used instead of letting the upper half of the side wall 5 hang down. If it is a sales tent, this half and the upper border, as well as possibly the entire side wall, are expediently provided with an imprint which indicates the goods sold or contains an advertisement for a specific product.
- the tent roof can also be made of a light material so that the inside of the tent is only exposed to the sun when it is filtered, but remains nice and warm and bright.
- the best solution is to purchase multiple fabric roofs for a single supporting structure so that the roof can be adapted to the weather conditions.
- FIG. 7 the attachment of the tent roof 1 to the support structure 2 and the Velcro 15 for attaching the side walls 5 is indicated.
- the tent roof 1 is fastened to the supporting structure 2 by means of a Velcro strip 18, in that the lower part 17 is folded around the supporting structure 2 and pressed against the upper part 16.
- the Velcro tape mentioned in this description is a version that is used, for example, for the closure for sports shoes, and whose lifespan remains perfect for years to come.
- FIG. 8 the attachment of a tension cable 14 to a hook 6 in the corner of the tent roof 1 just above the border 12 is shown.
- the tensioning cable 14 is fastened to a meadow 8 by means of a floor hook 19 inserted therein.
- This tensioning cable 14 fulfills two tasks, firstly by increasing the stability of the supporting structure 2 with tent roof 1 and side walls 5, with a tensioning cable 14 being assumed at each corner.
- the four tensioning cables 14 press the tent roof 1 against the supporting structure 2, and thus prevents an air blast from lifting the tent roof 1 off the supporting structure 2.
- FIG. 8 shows the hook element 13, which is sewn onto the tent roof 1, together with the hook 6.
- a foot plate 20 (FIG. 10) is advantageously used, which is provided with a shoe 22 for receiving the leg plate 21.
- the tensioning cable 14 is fastened in a hook 23 to the base plate 20.
- the weight of the foot plate 20 is preferably adapted to the size of the tent and the usual wind force at the exhibition site. There is also the possibility of pouring the footplates directly into a terrace floor, in which case the footplate hook must be retractable.
- Fig. 11 shows the insertion of the support 27 for the roof top, which extends from the roof surface upwards, so that the rainwater can drain off more easily.
- the version described can also be equipped with a flat roof.
- Fig. 12 shows a container 24 for the supporting structure 2 and a carrying strap 26 so that it can be carried over the shoulder by a single person. Furthermore, a container or a bag 25 for the roof cloth is shown. One person can carry the two containers alone if the supporting structure 2 is made of light metal or plastic.
- the tent is designed for base sizes from 6 to 18 m, and if more space is needed under one roof, several tent roofs can be set up side by side.
- the individual tent roofs can be set up so close to each other that there is only a small gap between the individual tents, which favors the supply of fresh air when the weather is nice.
- these gaps can be covered by rain gutters by attaching the adjacent borders of two different tent roofs with Velcro to which the rain gutters are attached.
- a combination of plastic and aluminum consists, among other things, of anodized poles, which are provided with plastic swivel bearings. This solution has the advantage, for example, that assembly is simpler and therefore cheaper.
- plastic come for the supporting structure Among other things, consider materials that are used in automotive engineering and have a softening point that is not too low. The plastics used should also be resistant to bending and not too brittle. Furthermore, the plastics used should have a low coefficient of friction and should not age too quickly. Standard profiles should preferably be used.
