Abstract

The invention relates to a roller shutter for a door, window or the like, comprising a box (13) surmounting a renewed frame (2) which is capable of covering, from the inside, a preexisting frame (3). With a view to guaranteeing better impermeability of the assembly and making a location which is sufficiently capable of receiving the control mechanism (20) for rolling up and unrolling the shutter, said box (13) has, in the region of its front wall (14) and on a level with its lateral edges, a set-back (32) which defines a first box part (33) of a width which is smaller than the distance between the uprights of the preexisting frame and a second box part (37), the width of which is adjusted to the overall width, on the internal side, of the renewed frame (2), this second box part (37) comprising, in the region of its ends, a housing (42) situated beyond the support cheeks (21) and delimited by independent end plates (23) which laterally enclose said box (13) in order to receive the control mechanism (20). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a rolling shutter for a door. window or the like, in accordance with the preamble of claim 1.

The present invention relates, more particularly, the carpentry industry.

In fact, it should be observed that in the part of the construction, we use, more and more more frequently, the assembly solution, in block, a door, window or the like, and its shutter rolling at a doorway arranged in the walls. It is all the more frequent to adopt this solution when we find ourselves in the presence of PVC or aluminum joinery, this mainly due to advantages, such as weight reduced or resistance offered by these materials.

Thus and under these conditions, the roller shutter consists of a box incorporating a mechanism winding and unwinding control an apron, this box being made integral of the upper crossmember of the frame of the door, window or the like.

In addition, the ends of this box upper side rails in which move the lateral ends of the apron blades, these slides being fixed directly, on the external face of the amounts of said sleeping frame.

Note that when designing this set and, more particularly, at the time of its mounting in a recess provided in a wall, there are no specific constraints when this doorway, that it should to equip, is not already provided with a sleeping frame coming from a pre-existing door or window, as is the case for renovation.

Thus, in the case of a new construction, the whole roller shutter-door or window is affixed on the inside of the wall of the construction, the casing of the rolling shutter coming, more particularly, to be housed in a recess provided in this wall above the doorway corresponding to said door or window. We observe, moreover, that in this scenario, this component rolling is not visible at the facade building exterior.

In fact, this comes to say that this box of roller shutter can adopt the desired width and, more particularly, that corresponding to the width overall of the sleeping frame. Such a provision is not only advantageous from a point of aesthetic view, but, in addition, such a box allows the accommodation, without difficulty, on the one hand, of the apron winding shaft and its mechanism winding and unwinding as well as support cheeks located at the ends of this tree.

As part of the renovation, it is a totally separate problem. Indeed, so to limit the importance of major works, but also in order to reduce the cost of this renovation it is frequent to leave in place, at a doorway corresponding to a door, window or the like, the old sleeping frame. the renovation operation consists, then, in dressing this frame dormant preexisting by, precisely, a frame dormant renovation. In fact, this one usually comes to be fitted from the inside, in this pre-existing sleeping frame while ensuring recovery partial of the internal face of the latter.

When it comes, in addition, to develop a component rolling at this door, window or the like, this roller shutter, formed by a box-and-slide assembly side, is affixed, from the outside, on the uprights and crosspieces of this frame pre-existing frame or the frame of renovation.

We observe that the solution adopted, so far, necessarily involves two mounting operations separate.

When considering, now, the use, in this type of situation, of a whole block, roller shutter-door, window or the like, we observe that the box, having a corresponding width the overall width of the renovation frame, requires notching of the upper part amounts of the pre-existing frame.

Indeed, it should be remembered that behind the scenes lateral fixed on the external face of the uprights of this dormant frame of renovation abut, necessarily, at their upper part to this box. Also, it is essential that it presents significantly salient compared to this outer face of said renovation frame.

Furthermore, there is the problem of sealing, more particularly, between the lateral flanges of this box and the uprights of the sleeping frame preexisting thus notched.

Also note that the reduction in width of this roller shutter box so as to adjust it at the spacing of the uprights of the frame preexisting, on the one hand, does nothing to solve the problem sealing and, on the other hand, leads to a major difficulty which could not find a solution until then, and which consists of housing, in this box, delimited by the supporting cheeks, the winding shaft and unfolding of the apron and its winding and unwinding control mechanism. Of course to these technical difficulties, there is the problem of the aesthetics of the whole, the side flanges of such a box of reduced width no longer being, under these conditions, in the vertical extension of the side edges internal corresponding to the amounts of the frame dormant renovation.

In summary, the object of the present invention is to remedy all of the aforementioned drawbacks by offering a directly associated roller shutter to a door, window or the like intended for the renovation and comprising a box which is in able to meet, at the same time, the conditions of mounting, without notching, on a standing frame preexisting, to the problem of tightness compared to the latter, at the height of the box, but also dimensional constraints in order to guarantee the housing both the deck and its tree winding and unwinding and mechanism control through which the user ensures the deployment and folding of the apron.

The invention as characterized in the claims, solves the problem and consists in a rolling shutter for door, window or the like comprising a box in which a winding and unwinding control mechanism an apron around a horizontal axis mounted in rotation, at its ends, in bearings arranged in supporting cheeks, with this box being associated behind the scenes in which are moved the lateral ends of the component blades said apron, said slides being themselves fixed, directly, to the uprights of a frame renovation frame which is surmounted by said box and coming to dress, from the inside, a door, window or similar frame pre-existing by ensuring partial recovery of the internal face of this pre-existing sleeping frame. Such a component is known from DE-A-2 646 787. According to the invention, the shutter is characterized by the constructive provisions defined in the characterizing part of claim 1.

The advantages obtained thanks to this invention, essentially consist of what it allows now have a roller shutter-door assembly, window or the like, likely to come dress a pre-existing sleeping frame, in particular in the event of renovation, without, on the one hand, no need to cut this sleeping frame preexisting, and secondly, that there are problems size or tightness, more particularly, at the height of the box. Otherwise, this invention also solves the problem of mechanical strength of these renovation roller shutters, namely that due to a provision of the winding and unwinding control mechanism of the apron beyond the delimited spacing by the supporting cheeks, these can be maintained, in all cases, at the right of the amounts of the sleeping frame. Also, the heavy load represented by the weight of the deck and its winding shaft is not reported on the sleeping frame via deformable walls of the box, but, precisely, so direct by said supporting cheeks necessarily good mechanical strength.

The present invention is described in more detail in the following description relating to an embodiment given by way of indicative example and which is illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

Thus, the present invention relates to a roller shutter 1 which, as shown in different figures of the attached drawing, is associated with a matching renovation frame 2 to a door, window or the like and intended to dress, from the inside, a frame dormant 3 preexisting at a doorway 4 defining a door, window or the like in the wall 5 of a building.

More precisely, this covering of the sleeping frame preexisting 3 through the frame of renovation 2 must be insured with some sealing. Thus, said dormant renovation frame 2 has, in its internal part 6 and at the level lateral uprights 7, 8 as well as at the height of the lower cross member 9, a flange 10 intended to come applied to the internal face 11 of the frame preexisting 3.

Note that such a covering edge 10 is absent at the level of the upper cross member 12 of this renovation frame 2 given that the box 13 of said rolling shutter 1 rests on this upper cross 12.

In fact, this box 13 is of parallelepiped shape and has a front wall 14, a wall upper 15, a lower wall 16, the latter resting on the upper cross member 12 of the frame renovation 2, and an internal wall 17 which, generally a cover shape since it can be removed to access the game internal 18 of this box 13.

Note in this regard, that in this part internal 18, is arranged, on the one hand, a shaft 19 on which comes to roll up or unfold an apron and, on the other hand, a control mechanism 20 through which the user can ensure, precisely, deploying or folding said apron.

It should be noted that the tree 19 is maintained free to rotate, at its ends by means of bearings integrated in supporting cheeks 21 provided in this box 13. This is, according to the invention, closed on its lateral sides 22 by an independent flange 23.

The roller shutter 1 also includes side slides 24, 25 in which move the side edges of the blades making up the apron. Thus, these slides 24, 25 are fixed on the outer face 26 of the uprights 7, 8 of the sleeping frame renovation 2 and abut, at the level of their upper end 27, to said box 13.

We observe that because of the above, the box 13 is arranged on the upper crosspiece 12 corresponding to the dormant renovation frame 2, so as to appear substantially protruding from the outside of this last and to allow, thus, to said slides 24, 25 to lead into the box 13 through its lower wall 16.

It is therefore necessary to ensure, also, integration of the casing 13 of the roller shutter 1 in the pre-existing frame 3. However, and so as to avoid, on the one hand, a nicking of the uprights 28, 29 of this pre-existing sleeping frame 3 and, on the other hand, to confer on said box 13, too small dimensions, that is to say which does not would more accommodate the mechanism of control 20 for winding and unwinding the apron it's a feature of this invention to provide at the level of the wall front 14 of this box 13 and at the edge lateral 30, 31, an offset 32.

In fact, these recesses 32 arranged on this front wall 14 of the box 13 is intended to define a first section of box 33 of width 34 less than the distance 35 respected between the uprights 28, 29 of the pre-existing frame 3. In short, this first part of the box 33 can thus be inserted according to a corresponding length at the depth 36 of the recesses 32, in the pre-existing frame 3 without it be necessary to nick this one.

According to the invention, the second part of the box 37 which is defined through the presence of recesses 32 and which, moreover, comes to located on the internal side of the construction, is larger dimension insofar as its width 38 corresponds to the overall width 39, from internal side of the house, of the frame renovation 2.

In short, the lateral flanges 23 of this box 13 and which come to be located at the ends of this second part of box 37, are in able to appear in the same extension vertical as the side edges 40, 41 of cover rim 10 fitted to the uprights 7, 8 at their internal side.

Thus, the features of the present invention allow to guarantee at the level of the game internal 18 of box 13 corresponding to the flap roller 1, sufficient space to accommodate, not only the deck, but also the mechanism of winding and unwinding control 20 the latter, without it being necessary or cutting the pre-existing frame 3, nor to reduce the width of said deck. Indeed, the second part of box 37, bounded by the first 33, wide reduced, through recesses 32, allows to reserve accommodation at its extremities 42 sufficient beyond the supporting cheeks 21, placed in this box 13, therefore, between these support cheeks 21 and the flanges 23 coming to close it off level of its lateral sides 22, this to accommodate, specifically, said control mechanism 20.

It will also be observed that said dropouts 32 come to define shoulders 43 on the lateral sides 22 of the box 13, these shoulders 43 coming from the wall, just like the covering rim 10, on the internal face 11, more particularly, corresponding amounts 28, 29 to the pre-existing sleeping frame 3. Such a provision improves, of course, the tightness of roller shutter assembly 1 - renovation frame 2, on this pre-existing sleeping frame 3.

Regarding this tightness, there is also, to take into consideration that certain building standards require development a continuous seal 44 between the renovation frame 2 and the frame pre-existing 3. Also spacing is ensured 45 regular between them, this at the level on their external side for the establishment of this attached 44.

In this regard, it should be noted that in order to respect this condition, the width 34 of said first part of box 33 is not only less than the distance 35 respected between the uprights 28, 29 of the sleeping frame preexisting 3, but, moreover, preferably corresponds overall width 46 of the frame renovation 2, this on the external side of this latest.

Accessibility from the outside for the purpose of installation of the seal 44 is also facilitated through the use of side slides 24, 25 of section reduced to a minimum. Indeed, these backstage lateral 24, 25 applied on the face external 26 of the uprights 7, 8 of the frame of renovation 2, come to define, between them and tables 48, of the doorway 4 arranged in the wall 5, corridors 47 allowing, precisely, access to spacing 45 for fitting this joint 44.

Such lateral slides 24, 25 are equipped, in addition, on their external face 49, of fixing means by clipping in order to ensure the connection of a finishing profile 50 intended to close corridors 47.

As a consequence of the above, we finds that the object of the present invention has known solve different sealing problems, assembly and size that we encounter at level of installation of a roller shutter-door assembly, window or the like, on a sleeping frame pre-existing, this during the renovation.

Claims (5)

1. Roller shutter for a door, window or the like, comprising a box (13) in which is arranged a control mechanism (20) for rolling up and unrolling an apron about a horizontal axis (19) rotatingly mounted, at the level of its ends, in bearings provided for in supporting webs (21), with this box (13) being associated side slides (24, 25) in which move the side ends of the slats said apron is comprised of, said slides (24, 25) being themselves directly fixed onto the stiles (7, 8) of a renovation sash-frame (2) which is topped with said box (13) and coating from the inside a pre-existing sash-frame (3) of a door, window or the like while ensuring a partial covering of the inner face (11) of this pre-existing sash-frame (3), characterized in that said box (13) has at the level of its front wall (14) and at the level of its side edges (30, 31) a set-back (32) which defines a first box portion (33) with a width (34) smaller than the distance (35) kept between the stiles (28, 29) of the pre-existing sash-frame (3) and a second box portion (37) the width (38) of which is adjusted to the overall width (39), at the inner side, of the renovation sash-frame (2), this second box portion (37) of the roller shutter (1), of larger width (38), including, at its inner portion and at the level of its ends, a recess (42) located beyond the supporting webs (21) and limited by independent side plates (23) which sidely close said box (13), whilst being located in the same vertical extension as the side edges (40, 41) of the covering rims (10) said stiles (7, 8) of the renovation sash-frame (2) are provided with at the level of their inner side, each of these recesses (42) being capable of accomodating the control mechanism (20) for rolling up and unrolling the apron, said set-backs (32) provided for at the level of the front wall (14) of the box (13) furthermore defining shoulders (43) at the side faces (22) of this latter, these shoulders (43) being inserted against the inner face (11) of the stiles (28, 29) of the pre-existing sash-frame (3).
2. Roller shutter according to claim 1, characterized in that the width (34) of said first box portion (33) ist equal to the overall width (46) of the renovation sash-frame (2) at the outer side of this latter.
3. Roller shutter according to claim 1, characterized in that between, on the one hand, the first box portion (33) and the renovation sash-frame (2) and, on the other hand, the pre-existing sash-frame (3) remains a regular gap (45) capable of accomodating a seal (44).

Roller shutter according to claims 1 and 3, characterized in that the side slides (24, 25) fixed onto the outer face (26) of the stiles (7, 8) of the renovation sash-frame (2) are determined with a cross-section reduced to a minimum with a view to define between them and the reveals (48) of the recess (4) provided for in the wall (5) of a building for accomodating a door, window or the like, passages (47) capable of authorizing the access to said gap (45) for the placing of said seal (44).
5. Roller shutter according to claim 4, characterized in that the side slides (24, 25) include, at their outer face (49) snap-in fixing means to ensure the connection of finishing profiles (50) closing said passages (47).
