Abstract

The invention relates to a roller shutter for a door, window or the like, comprising a box (13) surmounting a renewed frame (2) which is capable of covering, from the inside, a preexisting frame (3). With a view to guaranteeing better impermeability of the assembly and making a location which is sufficiently capable of receiving the control mechanism (20) for rolling up and unrolling the shutter, said box (13) has, in the region of its front wall (14) and on a level with its lateral edges, a set-back (32) which defines a first box part (33) of a width which is smaller than the distance between the uprights of the preexisting frame and a second box part (37), the width of which is adjusted to the overall width, on the internal side, of the renewed frame (2), this second box part (37) comprising, in the region of its ends, a housing (42) situated beyond the support cheeks (21) and delimited by independent end plates (23) which laterally enclose said box (13) in order to receive the control mechanism (20). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a rolling shutter for window door or the like, in accordance with the preamble of claim 1.

The present invention relates, more particularly, to the building joinery industry.

In fact, it should be observed that, within the framework of construction, one uses, more and more frequently, the solution of assembly, in block, of a door, window or the like, and of its shutter at a doorway in the walls. It is all the more frequent to adopt this solution when you are in the presence of PVC or aluminum joinery, this, mainly, because of advantages, such as reduced weight or resistance offered by these materials.

Thus and under these conditions, the roller shutter is constituted by a box incorporating a mechanism for controlling the winding and unwinding of an apron, this box being made integral with the upper cross member of the door frame, window or the like.

Furthermore, to this box, the upper ends of the lateral slides end in which the lateral ends of the deck blades move, these slides being fixed, directly, on the external face of the uprights of said fixed frame.

Note that during the design of this assembly and, more particularly, at the time of its assembly in a recess provided in a wall, there are no specific constraints when this recess, which should be fitted, n 'is not already provided with a sleeping frame from a pre-existing door or window, as is the case for renovation.

Thus, in the case of a new construction, the roller shutter-door or window assembly is affixed as a wall-mounted on the internal face of the construction wall, the roller shutter box coming, more particularly, to be housed in a recess provided in this wall above the doorway corresponding to said door or window. We observe, moreover, that in this case, this roller shutter is not visible at the level of the external facade of the building.

In fact, this comes to say that this roller shutter box can adopt the desired width and, more particularly, that corresponding to the overall width of the sleeping frame. Such an arrangement is not only advantageous from an aesthetic point of view, but, in addition, such a box allows the accommodation, without difficulty, on the one hand, of the winding shaft of the deck and of its mechanism. winding and unwinding as well as the supporting cheeks located at the ends of this tree.

In the context of renovation, this is a completely separate issue. Indeed, in order to limit the importance of major works, but also, in order to reduce the cost of this renovation, it is common to leave in place, at a doorway corresponding to a door, window or the like , the old sleeping frame. the renovation operation then consists of dressing this pre-existing sleeping frame with, specifically, a refurbishing sleeping frame. In fact, it generally comes to be embedded from the inside, in this pre-existing sleeping frame while ensuring partial recovery of the internal face of the latter.

When it is also a question of fitting a roller shutter at the level of this door, window or the like, this roller shutter, formed by a box-side slide assembly, is affixed, from the outside, to the uprights and sleepers of this pre-existing sleeping frame or of the renovation sleeping frame.

It can be seen that the solution adopted so far necessarily involves two separate mounting operations.

When considering, now, the use, in this type of situation, of a unit block, roller shutter-door, window or the like, it is observed that the box, having a width corresponding to the overall width of the renovation frame, requires notching the upper part of the uprights of the pre-existing frame.

Indeed, it should be recalled that the lateral slides fixed on the external face of the uprights of this dormant frame for renovation abut, necessarily, at their upper part to this box. Also, it is essential that the latter be substantially protruding with respect to this external face of said dormant renovation frame.

Furthermore, there is the problem of sealing, more particularly, between the lateral flanges of this box and the uprights of the pre-existing frame thus cut.

Note, moreover, that reducing the width of this roller shutter box so as to adjust it to the spacing of the uprights of the pre-existing frame, on the one hand, does not in any way solve the problem of sealing and, on the other hand, leads to a major difficulty which has not been able to find a solution until then, and which consists in accommodating, in this box, delimited by the supporting cheeks, the winding and unwinding shaft of the deck and its winding and unwinding control mechanism. Of course, to these technical difficulties, there is the problem of the aesthetics of the assembly, the lateral flanges of such a box of reduced width no longer being, under these conditions, in the vertical extension of the corresponding internal lateral edges. to the uprights of the renovation frame.

In sum, the present invention aims to remedy all of the aforementioned drawbacks by proposing a roller shutter directly associated with a door, window or the like intended for renovation and comprising a box which is able to respond, both , to the mounting conditions, without notching, on a pre-existing sleeping frame, to the problem of sealing relative to the latter, at the height of the box, but also to the dimensional constraints in order to guarantee the accommodation of both the deck and its winding and unwinding shaft and the control mechanism through which the user deploys and folds the deck.

The invention as characterized in the claims, solves the problem and consists of a rolling shutter for door, window or the like comprising a box in which is arranged a mechanism for controlling the winding and unwinding of an apron around a horizontal axis rotatably mounted, at its ends, in bearings arranged in support cheeks, with this box being associated with lateral slides in which the lateral ends of the blades making up said deck are caused to move, said slides being, themselves fixed, directly, on the uprights of a dormant frame for renovation which is surmounted by said box and coming to dress, from the inside, a dormant frame of door, window or the like existing by ensuring a partial covering of the internal face of this pre-existing sleeping frame. Such a component is known from DE-U-8113207. According to the invention, the shutter is characterized in that said box has, at its front wall and at the height of its lateral edges, a recess which comes to define a first part of a box of width less than the spacing respected between the uprights of the pre-existing sleeping frame and a second part of the casing, the width of which is adjusted to the overall width, internal side, of the renovation sleeping frame, this second part of the casing of the roller shutter, of greater width, comprising in its internal part and at each of its ends, a housing located beyond the supporting cheeks and delimited by independent flanges closing, laterally, said box, each of these housing being able to receive the winding control mechanism and of the deck.

The advantages obtained thanks to this invention consist essentially in that it now makes it possible to have a rolling shutter-door, window or the like assembly capable of dressing a pre-existing sleeping frame, in particular in the event of renovation, without, on the one hand, it is not necessary to cut this pre-existing sleeping frame, and on the other hand, there are problems of space or sealing, more particularly, at the level of the box . Furthermore, this invention also solves the problem of mechanical strength of these roller shutters for renovation, namely that due to a provision of the mechanism for controlling the winding and unwinding of the deck beyond the spacing. delimited by the supporting cheeks, these can be maintained, in all cases, in line with the uprights of the sleeping frame. Also, the large load represented by the weight of the deck and its winding shaft is not attached to the frame by the deformable walls of the box, but, specifically, directly by said supporting cheeks necessarily good mechanical strength.

Thus, the present invention relates to a rolling shutter 1 which, as shown in the various figures of the drawing attached in the appendix, is associated with a dormant renovation frame 2 corresponding to a door, window or the like and intended to come to dress, from the inside, a sleeping frame 3 preexisting at a doorway 4 defining a door, window or the like in the wall 5 of a building.

More precisely, this covering of the pre-existing sleeping frame 3 through the renovation sleeping frame 2 must be ensured with a certain seal. Thus, said dormant renovation frame 2 comprises, in its internal part 6 and at the level of the lateral uprights 7, 8 as well as at the height of the lower cross member 9, a flange 10 intended to come to apply on the internal face 11 of the frame pre-existing dormant 3.

Note that such a covering rim 10 is absent at the height of the upper cross member 12 of this renovation frame 2 given that the box 13 of said rolling shutter 1 rests on this upper cross member 12.

In fact, this box 13 is of parallelepiped shape and has a front wall 14, an upper wall 15, a lower wall 16, the latter resting on the upper cross member 12 of the renovation frame 2, and an internal wall 17 which, generally a cover shape insofar as it can be removed in order to access the internal part 18 of this box 13.

Note in this connection, that in this internal part 18, is arranged, on the one hand, a shaft 19 on which comes to wind or unwind an apron and, on the other hand, a control mechanism 20 through which the user can ensure, precisely, the deployment or folding of said deck.

It should be noted that the shaft 19 is kept free to rotate, at its ends by means of bearings integrated in support cheeks 21 provided in this box 13. The latter is, according to the invention, closed on its sides side 22 by an independent flange 23.

The roller shutter 1 also includes lateral slides 24, 25 in which the lateral edges of the blades making up the deck move. Thus, these slides 24, 25 are fixed to the external face 26 of the uprights 7, 8 of the dormant renovation frame 2 and abut, at their upper end 27, to said box 13.

It is observed that due to the above, the box 13 is arranged on the upper cross member 12 corresponding to the dormant renovation frame 2, so as to be substantially projecting relative to the external face of the latter and to thus allowing said slides 24, 25 to open into the box 13 through its lower wall 16.

It is therefore necessary, also, to ensure the integration of the box 13 of the roller shutter 1 into the pre-existing frame 3. However, and so as to avoid, on the one hand, a notching of the uprights 28, 29 of this pre-existing sleeping frame 3 and, on the other hand, to give said box 13 too small dimensions, that is to say which would no longer allow it to accommodate the control mechanism 20 for winding and unwinding the deck , it is a characteristic of the present invention to provide at the front wall 14 of this box 13 and at the height of the lateral edges 30, 31, a step 32.

In fact, these recesses 32 arranged on this front wall 14 of the box 13 are intended to define a first part of the box 33 of width 34 less than the spacing 35 respected between the uprights 28, 29 of the pre-existing frame 3. In short , this first part of the box 33 can thus be inserted, along a length corresponding to the depth 36 of the recesses 32, in the pre-existing frame 3 without it being necessary to cut it.

According to the invention, the second part of the box 37 which is defined through the presence of the recesses 32 and which, moreover, comes to be located on the internal side of the construction, is of larger dimension insofar as its width 38 corresponds to the overall width 39, on the internal side of the dwelling, of the renovation frame 2.

In short, the lateral flanges 23 of this box 13 and which come to be situated at the ends of this second part of box 37, are able to be in the same vertical extension as the side edges 40, 41 of the covering edge 10 equipping the uprights 7, 8 at their internal side.

Thus, the characteristics of the present invention make it possible to guarantee, at the level of the internal part 18 of the box 13 corresponding to the roller shutter 1, sufficient space to accommodate not only the deck, but also the control mechanism 20 for winding and unfolding of the latter, without it being necessary either to cut the pre-existing frame 3, or to reduce the width of said deck. Indeed, the second box part 37, delimited from the first 33, of reduced width, through recesses 32, makes it possible to reserve at its ends, a housing 42 sufficient beyond the support cheeks 21, placed in this box 13, therefore, between these support cheeks 21 and the flanges 23 coming to close it at its lateral sides 22, this to accommodate, precisely, said control mechanism 20.

It will be observed, moreover, that said recesses 32 come to define shoulders 43 on the lateral sides 22 of the box 13, these shoulders 43 coming to apply, just like the covering rim 10, on the internal face 11, more particularly , uprights 28, 29 corresponding to the pre-existing dormant frame 3. Such an arrangement naturally improves the sealing of the roller shutter assembly 1 - refurbished dormant frame 2, on this pre-existing dormant frame 3.

With regard to this sealing, it is also necessary to take into consideration the fact that certain construction standards require the fitting of a continuous seal 44 between the renovation frame 2 and the pre-existing frame 3 Also, a regular spacing 45 is ensured between the latter, this at their external side for the installation of this seal 44.

In this regard, it should be observed that in order to comply with this condition, the width 34 of said first part of box 33 is not only less than the spacing 35 respected between the uprights 28, 29 of the pre-existing sleeping frame 3, but, moreover, preferably corresponds to the overall width 46 of the renovation sleeping frame 2, this on the external side of the latter.

Accessibility from the outside, with a view to fitting the seal 44, is moreover facilitated by the use of lateral slides 24, 25 of section reduced to a minimum. Indeed, these lateral slides 24, 25 coming to apply on the external face 26 of the uprights 7, 8 of the dormant renovation frame 2, come to define, between them and the tables 48, of the recess 4 arranged in the wall 5 , corridors 47 allowing, precisely, access to the spacing 45 for fitting this seal 44.

Such lateral slides 24, 25 are also equipped, on their external face 49, with fixing means by clipping in order to ensure the connection of a finishing profile 50 intended to close the corridors 47.

As a consequence of the foregoing, it can be seen that the object of the present invention has been able to solve the various sealing, mounting and space problems encountered when laying a shutter assembly. door roller, window or the like, on a pre-existing sleeping frame, this during the renovation.

Claims (7)

1. Roller shutter for a door, window or the like, comprising a box (13) in which is arranged a control mechanism (20) for rolling up and unrolling an apron about a horizontal axis (19) rotatingly mounted, at the level of its ends, in bearings provided for in supporting webs (21), with this box (13) being associated side slides (24,25) in which move the side ends of the slats said apron is comprised of, said slides (24,25) being themselves directly fixed onto the stiles (7,8) of a renovation sash-frame (2) which is topped with said box (13) and coating from the inside a pre-existing sash-frame (3) of a door, window or the like while ensuring a partial covering of the inner face (11) of this preexisting sash-frame (3), characterized in that said box (13) has at the level of its front wall (14) and at the level of its side edges (30,31) a set-back (32) which defines a first box portion (33) with a width (34) smaller than the distance (35) kept between the stiles (28,29) of the pre-existing sash-frame (3) and a second box portion (37) the width (38) of which is adjusted to the overall width (39), at the inner side, of the renovation sash-frame (2), this second box portion (37) of the roller shutter (1), of larger width (38), including, at its inner portion and at the level of its ends, a recess (42) located beyond the supporting webs (21) and limited by independent side plates (23) which sidely close said box (13), each of these recesses (42) being capable of accomodating the control mechanism (20) for rolling up and unrolling the apron.

Roller shutter for a door, window or the like according to claim 1, including a box (13) topping a renovation sash-frame (2) which includes, in its inner portion (6) and at the level of the side stiles (7, 8) as well as at the level of the lower rail (9) a rim (10) intended for being inserted onto the inner face (11) of the pre- existing sash-frame (3), characterized in that the side plates (23) which are located at the ends of the second box portion (37) are in the same vertical extension as the side edges (40,41) of the covering rims (10) said stiles (7,8) are provided with at the level of their inner side of the renovation sash-frame (2).

Roller shutter according to claim 1, characterized in that said set-backs (32) provided for at the level of the front wall (14) of the box (13) define shoulders (43) at the side faces (22) of this latter, these shoulders (43) being inserted against the inner face (11) of the stiles (28,29) of the pre-existing sash-frame (3).

4. Roller shutter according to claim 1, characterized in that the width (34) of said first box portion (33) ist equal to the overall width (46) of the renovation sash-frame (2) at the outer side of this latter.

5. Roller shutter according to claim 3, characterized in that between, on the one hand, the first box portion (33) and the renovation sash-frame (2) and, on the other hand, the pre-existing sash-frame (3) remains a regular gap (45) capable of accomodating a seal (44).

Roller shutter according to claims 1 and 5, characterized in that the side slides (24,25) fixed onto the outer face (26) of the stiles (7,8) of the renovation sash-frame (2) are determined with a cross-section reduced to a minimum with a view to define between them and the reveals (48) of the recess (4) provided for in the wall (5) of a building for accomodating a door, window or the like passages (47) capable of authorizing the access to said gap (45) for the placing of said seal (44).

7. Roller shutter according to claim 6, characterized in that the side slides (24, 25) include, at their outer face (49) snap-in fixing means to ensure the connection of finishing profiles (50) closing said passages (47).
