Definitions

  • Such a tilting device is known, for example, from EP-B1-0 233 974 by the same applicant.
  • the basic elements of the mechanics are designed for the more complicated simultaneous mechanics.
  • the construction effort and the manufacturing costs are therefore considerable, because in principle a simultaneous mechanism must be "leaned” in order to make it easier Obtain permanent contact mechanics.
  • the relatively expensive housing made of cast metal or fiber-reinforced plastic is retained, the complicated, optionally applicable locking mechanism for locked positions and other special mechanical designs.
  • the object of the present invention is now to provide a chair mechanism in the form of an inclination device which is characterized by a simplified structure, can be produced inexpensively in larger series and, based on the simpler permanent contact mechanism, by a few additional parts can be expanded with a simultaneous mechanism.
  • the essence of the invention is to provide, as a receptacle for the chair column and as a support for the seat and backrest, a narrow support box which consists of a few sheet metal parts and is located between the backrest cheeks and which supports the seat by an additional sheet metal cross member in the front part guaranteed on a broad basis.
  • Such a carrier box can be produced easily and inexpensively, can be easily upgraded with additional parts if required (e.g. for the more complicated simultaneous mechanics) and achieves a very high bending and torsional stiffness due to the box construction with low use of materials.
  • steel sheet is preferred as the material for the sheet metal parts.
  • a first preferred exemplary embodiment of a chair mechanism according to the invention is shown in the form of the simpler permanent contact mechanism in FIG. 1.
  • the centerpiece of this inclination device is an only partially visible support box 4, which - as can be seen more clearly in FIGS. 5a and 5b - consists of a box-shaped lower part 2, a lid 1 arranged thereon and one attached to the front (in relation to the chair) Cross member 3 is composed.
  • Lower part 2, cover 1 and cross member 3 are preferably deep-drawn or folded parts made of sheet steel, which are spot-welded to the finished carrier box 4.
  • the cross member 3 can either - as shown in Fig. 5a - be a separate sheet metal part which is welded to the lower part 2 and the lid 1, or can be formed together with the lower part 2 from a board by appropriate folding.
  • the carrier box 4 receives the (usually rotatable) chair lower part. This is done either in a manner known per se by means of a conical plug connection or directly by welding a chair column from the lower chair part (4a in FIG. 1) into the carrier box 4.
  • a receiving cone 2a is provided in the carrier box 4, which is molded from the lower part 2 can be or, for example, as a separate part (in particular an extruded part) is introduced into the carrier box 4 in a non-positive or positive manner.
  • two tabs 5 and 6 are folded on one side, which have through holes and are part of a locking device, which will be explained later in connection with FIGS. 3, 4a and 4b.
  • a seat plate 16 and a backrest support 18 are attached simultaneously.
  • the seat plate 16 is supported in the front area by means of support cams 22 and counter cams 24 (in principle displaceable) on the cross member 3 and in turn carries a seat cushion (not shown in FIG. 1).
  • a seat support 34 In the rear area, in the case of the permanent contact mechanism, it is firmly connected to the carrier box 4 by a seat support 34.
  • the backrest support 18 is angular with an upper and a lower leg. It is rotatably mounted on the carrier box 4 in the middle region of its lower leg and carries a backrest (also not shown) on the upper leg.
  • the backrest support 18 is also constructed asymmetrically, i.e. it consists (at least in its lower leg) of two unequal long, parallel, spaced, U-shaped backrest cheeks 8 and 9 (Fig. 3).
  • the shorter backrest cheek 9 ends directly behind the pivot bearing.
  • the longer backrest cheek 8 sits on the side of the locking device and is shaped at its front end in such a way that locking bores 10 can be introduced there.
  • the backrest support 18 is rotatably mounted on an axle shaft 19.
  • the axle shaft 19 is in turn connected to the carrier box 4, for example in corresponding bores pressed in.
  • Both backrest cheeks 8 and 9 are connected to one another behind the rear end of the carrier box 4 in a torsionally rigid manner, preferably by means of a welded (round or angular) pipe section 35a. Further cross connections such as pipe section 35b are provided elsewhere in order to form an end stop for the height adjustment range of the backrest and to be able to fasten trim parts at the same time.
  • the two brackets 5 and 6 are bent on one side on the cross member 3 and have through bores for guiding a locking bolt 7. Since, due to structural tolerances, the locking bolt 7 is never exactly aligned with the associated locking bores 10 in the backrest cheek 8, the locking bolt 7 is preferably guided in a tolerance compensation bearing 11 which is displaceably mounted perpendicularly to the direction of movement of the bolt (FIG. 3).
  • the tolerance compensation bearing 11, which consists for example of a resistant plastic, is clipped into a correspondingly shaped opening in the tab 6.
  • a suitably shaped tip on the locking bolt 7 in connection with the displaceable tolerance compensation bearing 11 ensures that the locking bolt 7 is automatically positioned eccentrically in one of the locking bores 10.
  • a locking spring 12 always presses the locking bolt 7 into one of the locking bores 10, correspondingly pretensioned. If the locking bolt is pulled outward, the locking is released. The backrest can then be used as a permanent contact backrest.
  • the locking device is particularly simple, inexpensive and easy to use when the locking bolt 7 is cranked at the end and the cranked end is guided at a certain distance from the bolt axis in a recess which has the shape of a threaded segment 15a (FIG. 4b) . Due to the pitch of the threaded segment 15a, the locking bolt 7 is displaced in the direction of the bolt axis as soon as the cranked end rotates against the threaded segment 15a.
  • the locking pin 7 pulls out of the locking device against the increasing force of the locking spring 12. Conversely, it locks itself.
  • the threaded segment 15a acts as a reduction.
  • Correspondingly shaped recesses at the ends of the threaded segment 15a cause the locking bolt to remain unlocked or locked in its position.
  • the threaded segment 15a is preferably designed as a link guide 15b (FIG. 4a).
  • a stepped sleeve 13 is pushed over the cranked end of the locking bolt 7.
  • the stepped sleeve 13 has an edge which, by means of a correspondingly large diameter, in principle prevents the sleeve from being pressed out of the link by an internal spring 14 regardless of the position of the bolt end.
  • the diameter of the step under the edge fits into the larger link cutouts in the locking and unlocking position of the bolt, but is too large for the actual guide link. Only when the stepped sleeve 13 is pressed upwards against the force of the spring 14 can the bolt end move through the backdrop. The defined movements - first press and then move - prevent the locking device from being triggered unintentionally, e.g. by the user hits the end of the bolt.
  • This trigger protection can of course also be reversed in its mode of action by pulling the stepped sleeve 13 downward against a tension spring which releases the backdrop.
  • the link guide 15b is preferably the molded-on design of a seat cover 17 (FIGS. 1 and 4a).
  • the seat cover 17 is either fixed to the seat or to the carrier box 4.
  • the connection to the seat plate 16 has been selected. This is because there is a larger space available, and the technical requirements for a simple snap or clip connection are better for both parts, especially if they are injection molded from plastic.
  • the seat plate 16 is rotatably mounted on the backrest support 18 behind the axle shaft 19 by means of a further axle shaft 31.
  • the bores required for this and the force-transmitting connecting part are preferably realized in a particularly simple manner by integrally molded rib seat bearings 21.
  • the seat plate 16 is a molded part, e.g. is injection molded from plastic.
  • the axle shaft 31 in the longitudinal direction in the usual way, e.g.
  • the seat is secured by two lock washers, axially secured, and can be tilted backwards, so that it cannot be moved in the longitudinal and transverse directions.
  • the rib seat bearings 21, as can be seen from FIG. 1, can also be present in the permanent contact mechanism for reasons of simplified production, but then without function.
  • the inclination ratio of the seat plate 16 or the seat to the backrest is determined by the position of the rear and front support point of the seat plate 16 in relation to the position of the axle shaft 19.
  • the front support point of the seat plate 16 is close as possible to the front edge of the seat.
  • the seat plate 16 is supported in the front area on the right and left on the cross member 3 by the molded support cams 22.
  • the support cams 22 allow a certain change in inclination unhindered by their rounded shape. Lateral shifting is preferably prevented by a respective lateral holding rib 23, which is formed on the outside next to the end of the cross member 3 on the left and right of the seat plate 16. Hooks with molded counter cams 24 coming from the top of the seat plate 16, encompassing the cross member 3 on the right and left, hold the seat plate 16 upwards.
  • the hooks are preferably also molded onto the seat plate 16.
  • this fastening system can also be used for the permanent contact mechanism, as shown in FIG. 1.
  • the described rear and front fastenings are part of a single seat plate 16, which can be used unchanged for both mechanical versions.
  • the seat cover 17 with the link guide 15b and the locking bolt 7 guided therein can also be taken over unchanged: the seat changes its inclination and position relative to the locking bolt 7 mounted in the cross member 3.
  • the distance in width between the backrest support 18 and the bent end of the Locking bolt 7 does not change, however. This ensures a safe function with the chosen construction.
  • the slight changes in position in the longitudinal direction that result when the seat is tilted are irrelevant in this regard.
  • the predominantly vertically effective path change of the backrest support 18 is transmitted to the springs by means of pull cables 27, which are deflected by deflection rollers 28 mounted on an angle lever 26 or - to save height - deflection segments 28a.
  • one of the two simultaneous compensating springs (25b) in terms of its length and therefore its spring force. This can e.g. done via a twist-proof threaded rod 29 with a molded-in eyelet for the spring.
  • a hollow knob 30 with a thread which is supported on the cross member and receives the free end of the threaded rod, enables the desired individual setting.
  • the support cams 22 can advantageously also be replaced by a roller 33 which is clipped into ribs 32 formed on the seat plate and stored therein (FIG. 2b).
  • Another possibility provides coupling links (e.g. made of plastic) which are rotatably attached to the right and left of the seat plate 16 and to a console.
