Definitions

  • the invention relates to seating that is defined by the preamble of claim 1.
  • Seating of this type which belongs to the higher comfort class, is generally provided with a seat plate / backrest adjustment mechanism. It is characteristic that the backrest tilt adjustment is in a rigid proportionality to the backrest tilt adjustment, which is also oriented backwards.
  • Such seating furniture can be found in Swiss Patent No. 629 945, in which a work chair for steplessly changing the seat plate and backrest inclination adjustment is described.
  • the associated adjustment mechanism contains, in addition to a gas pressure spring, a helical compression spring connected in parallel with the latter, the gas pressure spring also fulfilling the function of an actuator in addition to its function as a spring element.
  • the aforementioned spring element parallel connection aims to increase the backrest deflection to the rear against a progressively increasing spring force, the resulting adjustment movement being effected by moving the upper body of the chair user backwards.
  • the resulting adjustment movement By relieving the load on the backrest, it, together with the seat plate, returns to a position with a lower backward inclination or finally to its approximately perpendicular starting position.
  • the play of movement can be repeated as required with the gas pressure spring running freely. By switching the gas pressure spring as an actuator, the movement play can be stopped in any backrest inclination position, thereby fixing the backrest position.
  • the seating furniture loses an essential comfort component: the automatic adjustment of the backrest inclination if the user wants to lean back for a short time without unblocking the adjustment mechanism.
  • the seating furniture is to offer the possibility of being adaptable to different forms of use quickly and without actuating the adjusting means.
  • DE-OS 2 925 520 describes a swivel chair with an adjustment mechanism for the stepless change in the same direction of the seat plate and backrest inclination, in which on both sides of a seat frame hinged support bars are raised up to the height of a shoulder pad and thus both the lumbar section of the backrest and also include the shoulder pad in the incline adjustment process.
  • the chair user wishes to lean back beyond the limitation of the backward inclination resulting from the adjustment mechanism, this can only be done by additionally pivoting the shoulder rest backwards against a spring restoring force.
  • the backrest inclination is limited by the area of the same direction change of the seat backrest inclination.
  • the object to be achieved according to the invention on a piece of seating furniture of the type defined at the outset is therefore to improve the function of the backrest by further developing the adjustment mechanism in such a way that the portion serving as a shoulder rest and supporting the central region of the spine of a user also when the adjustment mechanism is blocked and regardless of its blocking position, it can still be pivoted backwards depending on the pressure.
  • Another object is that, building on a basic construction that enables the additional pivoting of the backrest mentioned, to create a control and support device for a headrest on the seating furniture, which is pivotably arranged above the said backrest section.
  • a third object to be achieved according to the invention relates to the design of a piece of seating of the present type with an armrest, in which the ends of an armrest and a support section are mounted on pivot pins which are attached to points of the seating structure which can be pivoted relative to one another.
  • the object to be achieved according to the invention relates to the design of a piece of seating furniture with a single-column support foot which can be provided with interchangeable support elements.
  • a single-column support foot 1 which is supported by a height-adjustable support column 2, for example a gas spring, with the seat cap 3.1 of a support arm 3 on a seat support frame, generally designated 4.
  • the support column 2 is expediently surrounded by a casing 5 which is formed, for example, from two telescopically interlocking tubular members.
  • the seat support frame 4 contains components of a device also referred to below as a synchronous adjustment mechanism 6, of which FIGS. shows a controllable gas spring 7 with the piston rod 8 in the extended position.
  • a synchronous adjustment mechanism 6 of which FIGS. shows a controllable gas spring 7 with the piston rod 8 in the extended position.
  • the lever arm 9 of a backrest connection structure 10 is articulated, which is pivotably mounted about a shaft 11.
  • CH-PS No. 636 252 the elements of the seat plate and the backrest 14, 16 constructed on the seat support frame 4 are pivoted in the same direction and as a function of one another.
  • the lever arm 9 is firmly connected to a support tube 12.
  • a spring assembly of the backrest pendulum device shown in detail in FIG. 2a, b is also connected to this at a slight angle.
  • a lever (not shown) also present on the seat support frame 4 makes it possible to actuate an overflow valve in the gas spring, which allows the piston rod 8 of the gas spring 7 to be moved in the open position, but blocks the piston rod in the closed position.
  • Pushing the piston rod 8 inward (see FIG. 1b) into the gas spring cylinder causes the backrest connection structure 10 to pivot clockwise and thus to move the backrest 14, 16 into the position according to FIG. 1b.
  • this pivoting movement only occurs if, when the overflow valve of the gas spring 7 is open, a pivoting force P is simultaneously applied, preferably by leaning back the user of the seating furniture.
  • the ejected gas spring piston rod 8 has the result that the slide unit 13 together with the support arrangement 16 of the frame 17 of the upper part of the backrest connected to it is pushed into an approximately vertical position.
  • the latter contains a shell-shaped rounded component 17 'which is pivotally articulated on the side ends of the support arrangement 16 via a pair of hinges 19 at the bearing point 18.
  • the component 17 ' is expediently a plywood shell, the lower edge of which is supported at 21 on the slide member 20.
  • An adjusting spring device 22 has the effect that the backrest frame 17 is kept firmly in contact with the slide member 20.
  • the spring device 22 consists essentially of an elongated leaf spring 23 which is screwed onto the slide assembly 13 at the bottom and extends up into the backrest frame 17, and a guide pocket 24 fastened to the latter, the details of which can be seen in FIGS. 4 and 4a and are described later.
  • FIGS. 2a and 2b show the slide unit 13 on a larger scale and in two cuts at 90 ° to each other.
  • a vertically standing rectangular tube 25 is welded onto the support tube 12 of the synchronizing adjustment mechanism 6.
  • the slide member 20 is mounted for longitudinal movement over a distance of approximately 1.5-2 cm. The path of movement is given by elongated holes 27 which are penetrated by tubular bolts 28 mounted in the rectangular tube 25.
  • the slide member 20 is under the pressure of strong coil springs 29, which are inserted with prestress between its underside provided with spring guides 31 and the support tube 12. As already mentioned, the upper end 32 of the slide member 20 is in pressure contact with the lower end of the component 17 ′ from the backrest frame 17.
  • FIG. 3 The position of the slide unit 13 within the support arrangement 16 can be seen in FIG. 3.
  • 12 denotes the support tube which is mounted in fork brackets 33 of the synchronous adjustment mechanism 6 mentioned.
  • 9 ' correspond to the lever arm 9 of Fig. 1 a tabs, and with 34 a pair of brackets parallel to the tabs 9' of the synchronous adjustment mechanism 6 according to the CH Patent No. 636 252.
  • the support arrangement 16, which is welded sideways to the rectangular tube 25, contains a frame construction 35, not shown in detail, of individual supports, each of which is connected to a vertical frame member 36 at its outer ends.
  • FIG. 3 further shows the fastening of the elongated leaf spring 23 to the rectangular tube 25 of the slide unit 13.
  • the backrest frame 17 is shown in section along the line IV-IV in Fig. 1 a.
  • the component 17 'formed, for example, as a plywood shell is, as mentioned, below / outside each in a dashed line and in Fig. 3 described pivot bearing 37/38/39 held.
  • the guide pocket, generally designated 24, for the leaf spring 23 is attached essentially centrally to the backrest component 17 '.
  • it consists of a stop housing 42 with an elongated cavity 43, in which a cam 44 placed or formed on the leaf spring 23 can move longitudinally between two end stops 45.1, 45.2.
  • the cam position at the lower end stop 45.1 defines the backrest position in approximately axial alignment with the slide unit 13, while the cam position at the upper end stop 45.2 corresponds to a deflection of approximately 15-20 ° in the clockwise direction of the upper backrest part 14 'into the position shown with a broken line .
  • Such a force Q occurs when the user of the seating furniture (additionally) wants to move further back with a locked gas spring, that is to say a fixed inclination position or with a full inclination adjustment and free-running gas spring piston rod 8, in order to assume a more relaxed body position.
  • a locked gas spring that is to say a fixed inclination position or with a full inclination adjustment and free-running gas spring piston rod 8
  • the lower end of the backrest frame component 17 ' which can be pivoted backwards about the bearing point 18 acts at the point 21 on the spring-loaded slide member 20 (see FIG. 2) of the slide unit 13.
  • a compressive force Q is reached, at which the bias of the coil springs 29 is overcome, the backrest 14 begins to pivot clockwise.
  • the slide member 20 is pushed downward against the progressively increasing preload of the springs 29 into an equilibrium position corresponding to the magnitude of the pressure force Q, i.e. the additional inclination of the backrest depends on the pressure force Q and disappears when the latter becomes zero.
  • the path of movement of the slide member 20 is limited by the length of the elongated holes 27.
  • the utilization of the possible slide path would mean that the backrest upper part 14 would be hit hard with full deflection.
  • This is avoided by the actuating spring device 22 as follows:
  • the leaf spring 23 has two kinks 46.1 and 46.2 above the slide unit 13, by means of which the leaf spring 23 is given longitudinal elasticity in addition to a clockwise bias. The latter has the result that a soft braking effect results when the cam 14 hits the upper end stop 45.2 (FIG. 4a).
  • Said pivoting bias causes the leaf spring 23 not to bend outwards but rather inwards against the component 17 'when the longitudinal pressure increases.
  • the size of the longitudinal elasticity of the leaf spring 23 and its pivoting bias by means of the kinks 46.1 and 46.2, and the free movement of the cam 44 in the guide pocket 24 can be Achieve value for the deflection pressure force Q and a largely impact-free braking of the deflection movement of the upper backrest part 14 in its position 14 '.
  • the seating furniture parts are designed from the bottom up to the height of the lines KK as described above.
  • a headrest frame 53 which carries the headrest upholstery 53 ", is built up via a hinge joint 52 provided on both sides.
  • the headrest frame 53 can in principle contain a plywood shell part 53" raised according to the component 17 '. 1a, 1 b with 23 designated leaf spring is extended beyond the guide pocket 24 out to about 1/3 of the height of the headrest framework 53 and hereinafter referred to with 54 and it corresponds to the height of the line KK also form moderately of the leaf spring 23. at the height.
  • the leaf spring 54 is also firmly connected at its upper end to the headrest frame 53 .
  • the leaf spring 54 When the backrest frame 17 is pivoted back into the position shown with broken lines, the leaf spring 54 also moves upward analogously to the displacement of the cam 44 in the guide pocket 24. Because the hinge If 52 allows an increase in the distance only in the middle of the backrest of the curved shell parts 17 'and 53', the leaf spring 54 must be aligned precisely with this zone. When the leaf spring 54, which is firmly connected to the headrest frame 53, is pushed upward, the headrest frame 53 pivots into a pivoting position, narrowing the pre-curvature 55, in which it is approximately parallel to the basic position at a distance.
  • the counterclockwise inclination of the headrest 51 in its position shown with a broken line depends - apart from the movement path of the leaf spring 54 - essentially on the horizontal distance of the connecting line between the hinge joints 52 and the leaf spring 54.
  • the headrest inclination adjustment can be preselected by moving the pivot point forwards or backwards on the hinge joints 52.
  • Both the seating furniture according to FIGS. 1 a, 1 b and according to FIGS. 5a, 5b can be provided with armrests 61 on both sides. These armrests are articulated on the one hand at the front end of the seat frame 4 on the synchronizing mechanism 6 at 62, and on the other hand on the bearing point 18 of the backrest frame 17. In accordance with the mutual adjustability of the two bearing points 18 and 62, which results from the description of FIGS. 1a, 1b, the armrests 61 are also articulated in order to be able to follow the adjustment movement mentioned. Since these armrests, which emerge from FIG. 6 in a schematic longitudinal sectional illustration, are designed in the same way for the left and for the right side of the furniture, only one armrest should preferably be referred to below.
  • FIG. 6 41 denotes the upper joint bushing at the “rear” end of the armrest, which was already mentioned in connection with the description of FIG. 3. It is mounted on the journal 38 shown there.
  • An articulated bushing 63 which is of basically the same design, fixes the front end of the armrest 61.
  • the articulated sleeve 63 is mounted in the bearing 62 (FIGS. 1 a, 5 a) on a further axle journal, which is not designated and which is connected to the seat frame 4 and which is designed similarly to the axle journal 38.
  • Both joint bushings 41, 63 each carry a leg core 64, 65, e.g. in the form of a flat iron strip, at the outer end of which a leg bend 66, 67 is provided.
  • the leg bends 66, 67 are practically the same and deflected from the straight line at an angle of 35 to 60 °, and are placed one above the other at the armrest bending point 68 such that the underside of the bend 66 of the upper leg core 64 is the top the bend 67 of the lower leg core 65 is opposite.
  • Both thigh cores are on the one hand held in exact alignment with one another by the joint bushings 41, 63 and on the other hand in a pocket 69 made of a flexible sheath material, e.g. a plastic-coated textile, held in their mutual relationship.
  • FIG. 6a shows the section along the lines a, -a, and a z -a z in FIG. 6,
  • FIG. 6a shows the pocket in the stretched-out position when empty, and
  • FIG. 6c shows the course of the pocket at the bending point 68 in on a larger scale.
  • the leg cores 64, 65 are surrounded by the relevant pocket sections 69.1 and 69.2 (FIG. 6b) and embedded in a foam casing 70.
  • the latter is surrounded by a cushion cover 71, which extends over the entire armrest and expediently leaves the two joint bushes 41, 63 free.
  • 6b and 6c show the design of the pocket 69.
  • Longitudinal seams 72 determine the width, and transverse seams 74.1, 74.2 define the longitudinally overlapping lengths for the receiving openings 73.1, 73.2 (see also FIG. 6c) for the leg cores 64, 65 .
  • the upper leg core 64 and the lower leg core 65 or their end bends 66, 67 are separated from one another at the armrest bending point 68 by a pocket double 75 located between the transverse seams 74.1 and 74.2.
