Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical connection device for plug-in time switches with the features according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- EP-A-0 249 907 discloses a housing system for electrical devices, such as socket time switches, with a plug and a socket arranged underneath, and a control and switching arrangement between the plug and socket.
- the plug and the socket are interchangeably arranged in the upper housing part or in the lower housing part and can be exchanged for plug systems as are required in other countries.
- this housing system has the disadvantage that the plug and the socket are separate components and, as such, must be installed in the separate housing halves and installed there electrically.
- the adaptation of the plug to the respective national standard is relatively simple and economical to achieve by a corresponding exchange.
- the respective adaptation of the socket, which is often integrated into the device, with the current-carrying contact spring bushings on the one hand and the protective contact spring socket on the other hand, which are mounted in a corresponding insulating housing, which is often provided as an integral part of a plug piston, is currently carried out in a much more complicated manner.
- the invention has for its object to eliminate the disadvantages of the known connection devices for such plug-in devices and to create a connection device in which the fully electrically installed connection device is inserted into such a time switch by means of a plug-in electrical installation device, or against a connection device with another national connection configuration can be replaced.
- This object is achieved with the features of claim 1 and further advantageous embodiments are claimed in the subclaims.
- the connection device when the connection device is inserted into the time switch housing, it comes into direct electrical connection with the electrical switching device and power supply unit of the time switch.
- connection device Another advantage is the simple and clear structure of this new connection device, its economical production, storage, rational installation in a time switch, or in other, mentioned plug-in devices, as well as the universal and economic usability for different country standards of the connection device, through the appropriate training and the arrangements of the contact spring bushings in the insulating housing of the socket.
- the connecting device shown in Figures 1 to 4 consists essentially of the front socket 1 with the two contact spring sockets 2 and the two opposing protective contacts 3.
- 4 shows the socket cup with a connector guide groove 5.
- the cylindrical socket cup 4 is made of a thermoplastic Made of insulating material.
- the rear connector 6 is also provided with a cylindrical connector cup which is made of a thermoplastic material.
- the socket cup 4 and the plug cup 7 are connected to one another in a latching manner. 8 there designates the plug contacts and 9 denotes tongue-shaped connection contacts arranged on the side of the plug cup 7 for the electrical connection of the connection device to a time switch shown in FIGS. 3 and 4.

- These protective contacts 3 / protective contact strips 10 are expediently produced as a one-piece item and mounted in the connector cup 7. This item is axially limited by the socket cup 4.
- a so-called child safety device is provided, which is made of a spring 13 directed perpendicular to the axis 12 and movable against the action of a spring Closure part 14 is formed, which is in the unused socket 1 in front of the socket holes 15, as shown in FIG. 2.
- the three connecting tongues 9 can be seen, which are arranged on the side of the connector cup 7, are provided for the electrical connection of the connection device with a timer.
- the two outer connecting tongues 9 are connected there directly and in one piece to the respectively adjacent contact spring bushings 2.
- the second plug contact 8 is in electrically conductive connection with one of the two contact spring sockets 2.
- Figures 3 and 4 show the appropriate installation of the new connection device in an electromechanical or electronic time switch 16.
- 17 indicates the intended position of the programming and time display device of the time switch.
- the connection device is axially limited by limiting cams 18 on a flange 19 of the rear timer housing 20.
- the connection device is fixed by a circular guide edge 21 on the timer front housing 22, which is removed from the rear timer housing 20 for inserting / replacing the connection device, or can be inserted as a complete module from the front or from behind into the timer housing and snapped there.
- FIGS. 3 and 4 also clearly show how expediently the connection of the electrical circuits between the connection device and the time switch is made via the connecting tongues 9.
- the connection device When the connection device is inserted into the rear time switch housing 20, the three connecting tongues 9 come into engagement with contact slots 23, which are arranged on an electrical switching and power supply board 24 of the time switch.
