Definitions

  • the invention relates to a spray nozzle head according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • a large number of spray nozzle heads are arranged along the surface to be sprayed (see e.g. CH-A-658 411, Fig. 4).
  • Such heads are e.g. attached to guardrail posts. It is also known to arrange the spray nozzle heads lying on the same in the non-traveled part of the road.
  • the spray nozzle heads or the nozzles arranged therein are supplied with the de-icing agent via controllable valves in order to spray this onto the road.
  • the known spray nozzle heads have the disadvantage that these heads are damaged relatively frequently.
  • damage is most often caused by an automobile crashing against the guardrail post; on the other hand, the heads arranged on the carriageway are most frequently damaged during snow removal work.
  • FR-E-18 209 shows a spray nozzle for water which is sunk into the road. However, this is made in one piece and is very difficult to maintain. It can also only spray a relatively small area.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to create a spray nozzle head which does not have these disadvantages. This will be the case with a spray nozzle head of the type mentioned with the characterizing features of claim 1 achieved.
  • the spray nozzle head By the spray nozzle body retractable in the road and the arrangement of the nozzle and the discharge opening for the de-icing agent on or below the Lane levels, a spray nozzle head is created that cannot be damaged by vehicle accidents or snow removal machines.
  • the spray nozzle head can be recessed into the pavement except for the discharge opening.
  • the spray nozzle head consists of a base and a drive-over cover, which gives good access to the connections to the de-icing agent line and the nozzles; this applies to installation as well as service and repair work.
  • the defrosting agent is preferably passed within the spray nozzle head through channels formed in the cover and the base part.
  • the base part is designed as an actual trough in which further installations can be placed, for example the controllable valve.
  • a hydraulic accumulator is also preferably arranged in this trough, which stores a certain amount of de-icing medium under pressure.
  • This de-icing agent is sprayed onto the roadway via the controllable valve and the nozzle when de-icing agent is required.
  • the arrangement of the installations in the bottom part of the spray head results in a compact unit that is optimally protected against damage and is nevertheless easily accessible.
  • a spray head sunk in the roadway 1 is shown in section.
  • the roadway is only indicated and not shown with its known layer structure.
  • a height of the spray head of 60 mm can be assumed as an example.
  • a corresponding deepening must be provided in the lane.
  • the spray head consists of a base part 2 and a cover 3.
  • the base part 2 (actual diameter 260 mm) is shown in a top view in FIG. 2, the cover 3 in FIG. 3.
  • a side opening 6 and a chamber 7 are provided in the base part 2.
  • the defrosting medium line 5 (tube or hose), which is only shown schematically, is inserted into the bottom part in the roadway.
  • the de-icing medium line provided with a corresponding connecting piece is connected to the upwardly angled de-icing medium channel 8 of the base part 2.
  • the base part 2 has a recess delimited by the edge 10, in which the cover 3 can be arranged.
  • the surface of the cover 3 comes to lie essentially flush with the upper edge of the edge 10 or with the road surface.
  • a bore 14 is provided for receiving a threaded bolt with a countersunk head. With this bolt the cover can be fixed to the bottom part. If the cover is not fixed, it can be rotated about the axis of the bore 14.
  • an annular defrost channel 12 is provided, which is connected to the channel 8 of the base part 2.
  • One or - as shown - a plurality of known nozzles 16 open out at one end into the channel 12 and at the other into a discharge opening 17 in the lid 3.
  • the nozzle and the ejection opening are inclined upwards and form an angle alpha of approximately 10 degrees with the horizontal.
  • seven nozzles 16 are provided, which are each offset by approximately 18 degrees.
  • the throwing direction for the de-icing agent can be set.
  • Several seals 18 are provided between the cover and the bottom part.
  • the cover 3 and the base part 2 are designed so that they cannot be driven over, that is to say they withstand the loads which arise when a vehicle or an aircraft rolls over the spray body or stops on it.
  • the lid and base part can be made of stainless steel, aluminum or glass fiber reinforced plastic. In particular for carriageways, the surface of the cover 3 should be made rough as the road surface so as not to pose a danger to single-track vehicles driving over it.
  • the function of the spray head is the same as that of known spray heads.
  • the controllable valve of the de-icing spray device when the de-icing agent is opened, de-icing agent is passed through the channels 8 and 12 to the nozzles 16 and ejected through them. After a predetermined period of time, the controllable valve closes and the spraying is ended.
  • FIG. 4 shows a further embodiment in section
  • Figure 5 is a plan view of the bottom part of this embodiment.
  • 20 and 21 designate two cover parts of the spray nozzle head, each of which essentially corresponds to the cover 3 previously described, that is to say have at least one nozzle and one ejection opening.
  • 22 and 23 associated control valves are referred to.
  • 24 and 25 are two hydraulic accumulators. These elements are well known. They store a certain amount of de-icing medium under pressure. The de-icing agent is located in the liquid space 32 of the Pressure vessel 24 or 25, which space is separated from a gas space 30 by means of a flexible membrane. This can be filled with gas of a predetermined pressure via a valve 31.
  • the hydraulic accumulators are filled with de-icing agent from the de-icing medium line 27 via a check valve 26 until a pressure equilibrium between the gas space and the liquid space of each hydraulic accumulator is reached.
  • These stores now contain a defined amount of pressurized de-icing agent.
  • one of the valves 22, 23 or both valves is now opened.
  • the hydraulic accumulators empty due to the gas pressure through the nozzles.
  • the valves 22, 23 are then closed and the hydraulic accumulators are filled again with de-icing agent from line 27.
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 now show a spray head in which the hydraulic elements mentioned are integrated.
  • This spray head has a base part which is designed as a trough 42.
  • the cover part is in three parts and comprises a first part 33, which rests on the tub rim.
  • This cover part has two recesses, in each of which the cover part 20 or 21 is inserted.
  • These cover parts are constructed in the same way as the cover part 3 of FIGS. 1 to 3.
  • FIG. 4 these cover parts 20, 21 are each shown above the corresponding recess in the cover part 33.
  • the de-icing medium line in the cover 33, 20, 21 takes place via a channel 38 in part 33, in each case in an annular channel 52 in parts 20, 21 and to the nozzles 36.
  • the parts 20, 21 are each fixed on part 33 by means of a countersunk threaded bolt in a central threaded bore 44.
  • the circular cover parts 20, 21 are also rotatable in the cover part 33 when the threaded bolt is loosened is to adjust the throwing direction for the de-icing agent.
  • FIG. 6 The installations according to FIG. 6 are arranged in the tub. These installations are only shown schematically in FIGS. 4 and 5. Another spatial arrangement is of course also possible. It is also possible to use only one, but larger, hydraulic accumulator instead of the two accumulators 24, 25. In the case of a de-icing agent spraying device without a hydraulic accumulator, only the valves 22, 23 can also be arranged in the trough 42. At most, this also applies if hydraulic accumulators are arranged in a separate cabinet at the edge of the road.
  • a spray head with two spray plates 20, 21, be it with a trough-shaped installation base part or with a normal base part 2, is particularly suitable for airport applications, since the de-icing agent must be spread out over a larger area there than on roads. On roads, especially motorways, the high vehicle density results in a strong dragging of the de-icing agent, which ensures its even distribution even with larger distances between the spray heads. On the other hand, with two spray plates, good coverage of the surface with de-icing agents can be achieved with the spray head.
  • the exemplary embodiments shown offer easy adjustment of the throwing direction for the defrosting agent and good accessibility from above for installation and maintenance work.
  • other designs are possible in which the entire spray body is sunk into the roadway and the road surface covers the spray body except for an opening for the de-icing agent ejection.
  • Such embodiments are not easy to maintain.
