Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for maintaining asphalt roads or paths, in particular for applying a bituminous binder from a pressurized container and a grit container with a base plate inclined towards outlet openings on a frame provided with at least one driving axis, behind the rear driving axis and below the grit container in the direction of travel in front of a grit removal funnel with at least one outlet opening that can be adjusted via a hand lever, nozzles for bitumen distribution are arranged, which are distributed individually or in groups across the width of the device and are also arranged and separated in the same way across the width of the device outlet openings that can be operated from one another correspond, and a platform is provided behind the chip removal funnel.
  • bitumen spraying equipment There are various types of bitumen spraying equipment that can be operated by hand, and these fresh binders are also used to spread raw chippings by hand from an open, low trolley onto the sprayed bitumen layer by means of shovels. This usually requires two more tar workers for a sprayer operated by a man to spread grit. The correct quantity metering is left to the skill of the tar workers.
  • a device which is used to maintain paved roads or paths.
  • a bituminous binder consisting of a pressurized container and a grit container, which are located on a frame provided with at least one travel axis, is applied, nozzles for bitumen distribution are arranged behind the rear travel axis and below the grit container and a platform is provided behind it.
  • Such a device is used to automate the previously described asphalting work.
  • the device is designed in such a way that grit is scattered over the entire track width of the driving axle onto the road to be paved or the road to be paved.
  • the grit to be applied is discharged from the grit storage container by means of a complicated discharge mechanism, which consists of a conveyor belt with a separate drive motor.
  • the additional conveyor belt creates an additional dead time element during the discharge process, which means that at the start of the asphalting process, there is a lead time from the discharge of the chippings from the storage container to the spreading of the chippings on the road and when the asphalting process is ended, the chippings remain closed when the storage container is closed lying on the conveyor belt in an uncontrolled manner.
  • a device of the type mentioned is known, in which nozzles and chip removal funnels are arranged over the entire width of the device.
  • a discharge roller which extends over the entire width of the vehicle and is driven by a separate motor to be attached, is used to discharge the chippings from the storage container.
  • Such a discharge device is complex and prone to failure.
  • the base plate of the grit container consists of two partial plates, the first partial plate being inclined at a flat angle to the horizontal, the second partial plate adjoining the at least one outlet opening of the container in one is inclined at a very steep angle and this second partial plate with one or more flaps hinged to the rear wall of the chippings container, which are opposite this second partial plate and can be adjusted via a hand lever, forms an elongated grit removal funnel in such a way that the at least one outlet opening serving for metering a quantity of grit is formed by the edge regions of the second partial plate of the base plate and the at least one movable flap that are directed toward the floor.
  • the device can be built directly on a self-driving small truck or can be designed as a trailer for hanging or lying on a tractor.
  • the bitumen nozzles can be opened and closed either by the driver or by the tar worker standing on the platform using a suitable device.
  • a grit container advantageously made of aluminum.
  • the capacity is increased by an upper side widening. Further input. Details, features and advantages result from the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention, as shown in the drawing.
  • the device 10 can be self-propelled or can be designed as a single-axle or two-axle trailer or as a trailer for a tractor. Only the functional part with a frame 12 and wheels 14 of an axle is shown here.
  • the device 10 has in the usual way on a frame 12 arranged vehicle wheels 14 which are driven or tightened and which in the example shown form the rear axle in the direction of travel.
  • vehicle wheels 14 which are driven or tightened and which in the example shown form the rear axle in the direction of travel.
  • a binder tank 16 which is under pressure and the contents of which are kept at an operating temperature by a heater 18.
  • Air pressure vessels 20 and 22 are used to maintain an operating pressure and can be filled and emptied via a valve device 24.
  • a control device 26 which can be arranged in the driver's cab or alternatively or additionally as a control unit 26A on the rear wall of the vehicle and which in its simplest form is a three-way valve for the binding agent and the air pressure, can be used to cause the binding agent, in usually bitumen, from the boiler 16 by means of compressed air from the pressure vessel 20 and 22, the lines 28, 30 and 32 and 32A are supplied to nozzles 34.
  • a deflection valve 38 is arranged in line 32, with the aid of which the bitumen stream in a supply hose 42 of a conventional hand lance 44 can be deflected.
  • This hand lance 44 is normally located on a support 46 which is arranged on a support strut 48.
  • This hand-held spray lance 44 is intended for small auxiliary work on the repair surfaces which can be reached outside of the nozzles 34, for which the vehicle 10 is stopped.
  • a removal point 78 is provided, from which chips 52 can be removed by hand with a shovel carried along.
  • the grit is located in a grit container 50 open at the top, preferably made of aluminum, which has a bottom 54 inclined at an angle to the horizontal vehicle axis.
  • the grit container 50 is widened at the top by the sections 56 on both sides, which are underpinned by the supports 48.
  • an elongated chip removal funnel 60 is arranged at the rear end of the bottom 54, the rear wall 66 of which can be operated via a hand lever 64 so that a gap 66 is formed at the lower end of the funnel 60 for a metered removal of chips.
  • a platform 70 is arranged at the rear end of the vehicle frame 12, on which a tar worker can stand comfortably and operate the hand lever 64. If necessary, a control unit 26A arranged in this area can also be operated.
  • a recess 68 is provided in the platform 70 in the region of the gap 66 in the hopper 60 which can be adjusted with the lever 64 in order to allow a metered amount 72 of the chips to pass through.
  • the arrangement of spray nozzles 36 is located just behind one or both rear wheels, above the strip to be repaired. The driver can easily keep the vehicle in the lane to be repaired so that the rear wheel is in the lane.
  • either several units of, for example, three spray nozzles 34 can be arranged in a row over the entire width of the vehicle, which can be switched on or off in any strip width via regulating and adjusting elements in order to be able to adapt to the different repair requirements.
  • the rear wall 62 can be subdivided in such a way that only certain sections that can be locked with the hand lever 64 can be actuated to form a section 66 that is section-wise or that is continuous over the entire width.
  • a lock 76 can be adjusted accordingly for this.
  • a group of nozzles 34 can be flexibly connect to the feed line 32 via a hose section 32A, so that one or more groups at the desired locations on the Vehicle width can be arranged relative to the vehicle and cooperate with a corresponding movable subdivision of the rear wall 62 of this selectable type of attachment.
  • the device can be optimally adapted to different requirements. If, however, areas need to be repaired that cannot be detected while the vehicle is in motion, the vehicle is stopped and the remote location is supplied with bitumen with the hand spray lance 44 carried along and then sprinkled with chippings in a conventional manner. A closable or open removal point 78 is provided for this.
  • a particularly inexpensive and powerful device 10 can be built on a platform of a small motor vehicle.
  • a vehicle with a total weight of less than 7.5 t and a short wheelbase of around 3.60 m has proven to be particularly suitable in order to remain sufficiently manoeuvrable on commercial vehicles that are not particularly strong.
  • a compressed air generator can be connected to the vehicle engine or an existing compressor can be used to fill the pressure vessels 20 and 22.
  • the heater 18 can also be operated from the vehicle.
  • the control unit 26 can be accommodated in the driver's cab.
  • the binder vessel 16 can have a content of 700 l with a diameter of 0.9 m and be under an operating pressure of 4 atm.
  • the binder is usually bitumen under the trade name U 60 k.
  • One filling is 0.6 t.
  • the grit container 50 has a capacity of 3 t of grit matched to the binder tank 16, for which an axial length of 2500 mm is available. Usually granite chippings are processed in a grain size between 2 and 5 mm.
  • the opening 66 allows a gap of approximately 18 mm, from which an optimal release of chips for the applied binder is guaranteed. The vehicle speed adapted for this can easily be determined empirically.
  • the main advantages are a pleasant and clean usability of the device as well as in the excellent performance and the resulting savings.
  • the new device requires 60.15% of the costs of conventional expenses, or the new device achieves cost savings of around 40%. With only 100 working days a year, the savings are about as much as the investment in the new device. This proves significant and unpredictable progress.
  • the new device can also be used to advantage for surface treatment of full street widths even if the asphalt surface exceeds the width given above.
