Definitions

  • the invention relates to a friction-textured polyester filament yarn, a process for its production and its use.
  • Friction-textured polyester yarns and their manufacturing processes are known up to a titer of 250 dtex and a usable crimp. In some cases it has even been possible to texturize polyester yarns with a titer of 330 dtex, but with the disadvantage of unsatisfactory crimping in the yarn. Such yarns are of limited use, for example, for the production of set yarns.
  • a false twist process using friction rotors and adding a wetting liquid inert to the yarns is known.
  • the titer of the treated yarns is in the range from 50 to 300 denier (56 to 330 dtex), the texturing speed is a maximum of 230 m / min.
  • the degree of crimp is at most 35% under the specified conditions. It is described that yarns with coarse titers can be subjected to false twist treatment with extreme difficulty without the addition of a liquid, even using the known method.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a friction-textured polyester yarn with a coarse titer, which can be produced without a specialized process with good crimping.
  • Another task is the use of such a yarn for the production of set yarns.
  • the object is achieved according to the invention by a polyester yarn which has a titer of 400 to 600 dtex with a crimp of at least 45%.
  • the friction-textured polyester yarn is swirled after wave two of the texturing machine, it is characterized by a number of knots of at least 60 swirling points / m, which guarantees perfect processing in warp and weft.
  • a problem with the folding and interlacing of two or more threads on a texturing machine is the uneven thread tensile forces of the different components, which leads to different thread lengths of the individual components between the knots (interlacing points), which creates an irregular surface in the fabric.
  • Another advantage, in addition to increasing throughput, is the elimination of this source of error in the case of simple texturing and swirling.
  • the process is characterized in that coarse titers can now be drawn off at a speed of at least 350 m / min with a thread tension ratio of F2 / F1 ⁇ 1.
  • Friction swirlers have proven particularly suitable as those which are commercially available under the name "RINGTEX” from BARMAG / BRD and NIPTWISTER from MURATA, Japan.
  • the friction-textured coarse yarn is ideally suited for the production of a set yarn with a crimp of less than or equal to 30%.
  • the coarse yarn can be processed immediately as an intermediate product without any further process step.
  • a polyester yarn with at least 85% by weight of ethylene terephthalate units was used as the master yarn.
  • the following table 1 shows the texturing machine setting when using RINGTEX units.
  • a prerequisite for a perfect yarn that does not cause a fabric jump after washing is the setting of the thread tension ratio F2 / F1 ⁇ 1.
  • Table 2 shows the machine settings when using NIPTWISTER units.

Abstract
