Abstract

A friction-textured polyester filament yarn with a count in the range 400 to 600 dtex is an HE with a crimp of at least 45 %. In a process for manufacturing the textured yarn, a smooth yarn in the above-mentioned coarse count range is textured over a clamping twister at at least 350 m/min and a yarn tensile force ration F2/F1 less than 1. The resultant textured filament yarn can be used to manufacture a set yarn with a crimp of less than 30 %.

Description

The invention relates to a friction-textured polyester filament yarn, a process for its production and its use.

Friction-textured polyester yarns and their manufacturing processes are known up to a titer of 250 dtex and a usable crimp. In some cases it has even been possible to texturize polyester yarns with a titer of 330 dtex, but with the disadvantage of unsatisfactory crimping in the yarn. Such yarns are of limited use, for example, for the production of set yarns.

According to DE-A-2 001 120, a false twist process using friction rotors and adding a wetting liquid inert to the yarns is known. The titer of the treated yarns is in the range from 50 to 300 denier (56 to 330 dtex), the texturing speed is a maximum of 230 m / min. The degree of crimp is at most 35% under the specified conditions. It is described that yarns with coarse titers can be subjected to false twist treatment with extreme difficulty without the addition of a liquid, even using the known method.

For productivity-enhancing reasons, there has long been a need to texture coarse titers> 330 dtex. According to general teaching, yarns over 250 dtex can only be textured with considerable loss of crimping using the friction method, since the torsional moment that can be transferred to the thread by conventional friction disc units is so limited that the yarn twist required to achieve good crimping cannot be achieved . Accordingly, the area of application of all texturing machines is limited in the machine specifications to the titer range <250 to 330 dtex.

So far, it has been used to produce coarse texture yarn titers by folding fine yarns. This means that if the piling takes place on the texturing machine, a loss in capacity corresponding to the number of ply threads, or the need for a separate process.

The object of the invention is to provide a friction-textured polyester yarn with a coarse titer, which can be produced without a specialized process with good crimping.

Another task is the use of such a yarn for the production of set yarns.

The object is achieved according to the invention by a polyester yarn which has a titer of 400 to 600 dtex with a crimp of at least 45%.

Surprisingly, it was possible to produce coarse texture yarns in one speed range with full capacity utilization of the machines, so that a throughput increase of up to 75% can be achieved compared to the previously used specialist process.

If the friction-textured polyester yarn is swirled after wave two of the texturing machine, it is characterized by a number of knots of at least 60 swirling points / m, which guarantees perfect processing in warp and weft.

A problem with the folding and interlacing of two or more threads on a texturing machine is the uneven thread tensile forces of the different components, which leads to different thread lengths of the individual components between the knots (interlacing points), which creates an irregular surface in the fabric.

Another advantage, in addition to increasing throughput, is the elimination of this source of error in the case of simple texturing and swirling.

The process is characterized in that coarse titers can now be drawn off at a speed of at least 350 m / min with a thread tension ratio of F₂ / F₁ <1.

After further processing into fabrics, coarse titer yarns produced with conventional disc friction units experimentally showed that the fabrics had a width increase of up to 50% during washing, ie they were unusable. The cause was the high thread tension F2 necessary for a stable process. If the process is stable, the friction pulling force F2 can be reduced to such an extent that this error no longer occurs with jamming friction swirlers.

Friction swirlers (jamming) have proven particularly suitable as those which are commercially available under the name "RINGTEX" from BARMAG / BRD and NIPTWISTER from MURATA, Japan.

It is surprising that the coarse-titer yarns produced with the clamping twist encoders have crimping values which are in the range of those which, with normal disk friction, have hitherto only been possible with low titers, for example with the titer 167 dtex, which is normally used for the subject.

The friction-textured coarse yarn is ideally suited for the production of a set yarn with a crimp of less than or equal to 30%. The coarse yarn can be processed immediately as an intermediate product without any further process step.

The invention will be described in more detail by means of examples.

% Ethylenterephthalat-Einheiten.A polyester yarn with at least 85% by weight of ethylene terephthalate units was used as the master yarn.

A prerequisite for a perfect yarn that does not cause a fabric jump after washing is the setting of the thread tension ratio F₂ / F₁ <1.

Obwohl die groben Titer erwartungsgemäss eine deutlich gröbere Kräuselstruktur aufweisen und somit tiefere EK-Werte zu erwarten wären, werden fast gleiche Kräuselwerte (Texturmat) gemessen wie bei dtex 167.Although, as expected, the coarse titers have a significantly coarser crimp structure and thus lower EK values would be expected, almost the same crimp values (texture mat) are measured as for dtex 167.

According to the invention, it is now possible for the first time to texture titers up to 500 dtex at reduced (adapted) speed (due to heating power) with the new clamping twist generators without significantly decreasing in the crimp volume compared to folded yarns.

The texturing speed for these titers is still so high that it would have to be more than 50% higher for the single yarn to be shed in order to achieve the same throughput / mesh. to reach.
