Definitions
- the invention relates to a sole support plate in combination with parts of a ski binding according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a sole support plate of this type is described, for example, in AT-PS 356.561.
- the sole support plate is held in its assembled state on the base plate of the ski binding part by means of its two lateral extensions in the form of a tongue and groove guide against unintentional lifting.
- To lock the sole support plate on the ski binding part against shifting in the longitudinal direction of the ski however, there are other components, such as a notch that interacts with a notch on the other component of the ski binding is required.
- AT-PS 361.824 discloses an adjustment plate which is removed after the ski binding is screwed on.
- the extensions of the adjustment plate used to hold the screws are provided with fork tines, which are broken off when the screws are tightened due to the force that occurs (see page 5, lines 17 to 25).
- the extensions disclosed in this document can not be equated with the keyhole-like recesses, which are used in the invention to constantly hold the sole support plate to the fastening screws. They also do not suggest the solution according to the invention.
- the invention has set itself the task of designing a sole support plate of the type mentioned in such a way that, apart from the fastening screws required for fixing the ski binding part on a ski, no further components are required for holding the sole support plate.
- the fastening screw acts as a catch and a keyhole-like recess in the sole support plate in its straight section towards the free end is effective, the use of a separate latching device is unnecessary.
- the sole support plate on its area facing the ski binding part has the keyhole-like recess, the center line of which is aligned with the center line of the fastening screw on the ski binding part, the catch being formed by the fastening screw itself, makes it easy to assemble or disassemble the sole support plate on the ski binding part.
- the recesses in the sole support plate that receive the screw heads could be designed to be suitable for countersunk screws.
- these bores are receiving points with play of approximately 0.5 mm for cylinder countersunk screws. This results in a simplification in the production, since there are no fitting tolerances to be observed, and yet a connection between the cylinder countersunk screw heads and the recesses, which is secure against unwanted pushing off, is ensured.
- the measures according to claim 4 is also. without a separate cover, a secure seal against the ingress of snow, ice and other undesirable contaminants is created.
- the features of claim 5 serve for safe guidance when the sole support plate is pushed onto the ski binding part.
- the features of claim 6 enable the sole support plate to be easily mounted on the base plate of the ski binding part.
- the features of claim 7 in turn ensure that the height required for the grip on the sole support plate is ensured by the base of the base which is present anyway. In this way, the underside of the sole support plate runs in the support plane of the ski binding part. Become the two with a ski binding. Binding parts connected to each other by means of a metal band, so by the features of claim 8 for the sole support plate also in the longitudinal extension of the metal band a secure guidance and a secure hold against lifting is guaranteed.
- FIG. 1 shows a sole support plate according to the invention in an oblique view
- FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section along the line II-II in FIG. 1, in the partially pushed-on state of the sole support plate
- FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section similar to FIG 4 shows a top view of FIG. 3
- FIG. 5 shows a cross section along the line VV in FIG. 2
- FIG. 6 shows a cross section along the line VI-VI in FIG. 3.
- the base plate 2 of an only indicated jaw body 3 serving as a ski binding part is fixed by means of a pair of fastening screws designed as countersunk screws 4.
- the socket head screws 4 are pre-inserted in the base plate 2 in a known manner; this configuration is not the subject of the present invention.
- a metal strip 5 is also fastened to the base plate 2 and carries a further jaw body, not shown here.
- the measure of using a metal band for the connection of the two jaw bodies of a ski binding is known per se and likewise does not form part of the subject matter of the present invention.
- a sole support plate 6, the design of which forms an essential concept of the invention and can now be described below, can be pushed onto the base plate 2.
- the use of such a sole support plate 6 serves to put on the sole of a ski boot, the sole support plate 6 itself being designed in such a way that, in a known manner, it ensures unimpeded passage of the metal strip 5 even during a deflection of the ski 1.
- the sole support plate 6 points on its two side surfaces in the direction of the base plate 2 of the jaw body 3 Extensions 7 on. Between the two extensions 7, a web 8 is formed from the sole support plate 6, which - with respect to its longitudinal center axis - is symmetrically and offset to the rear relative to the free end regions of the two extensions 7.
- the rearward-extending sections of the extensions 7 are connected to one another by means of a bridge section 9, which is raised relative to the plane of the web 8 and, in a known manner, has a recessed receiving point 9a for inserting a sliding plate 10 made of a low-friction material, for example made of polytetrafluoroethylene. Between the bridge section 9 and the web 8 there is an oblique transition 11. This ensures that a ski boot rests with its sole only on the sliding plate 10, which ensures a pre-calculated triggering process.
- a keyhole-like recess 12 with a free, straight section 13 and with a subsequent head section 14 designed as a bore is formed between the individual extensions 7 and the web 8.
- Each free, straight section 13 of the individual recesses 12 is dimensioned in this way. that the shaft 4a of the associated cylinder countersunk screw 4 can pass through unhindered, the individual shafts 4a of the two cylinder countersunk screws 4 guiding the sole support plate 6 simultaneously by pushing the sole support plate 6 onto the base plate 2.
- the free, straight section 13 of each recess 12 is adjoined by the head section 14, which runs along a circular section and serves to receive the head 4b of the associated pre-inserted countersunk screw 4.
- the individual cylinder countersunk screws 4 sit with their heads 4b in the individual head sections 14 of the sole support plate 6 and secure them against unwanted displacement in the longitudinal direction of the ski away from the base plate 2.
- the two extensions 7 each have a groove 7a, the height of the thickness s of the base plate 2 is dimensioned accordingly with play and the length of which ensures secure guidance of the sole support plate 6 on the base plate 2.
- the depth of each groove 7a is dimensioned such that the sole support plate 6 can be guided with play on the width of the base plate 2.
- the exact position of the sole support plate 6 on the base plate 2 is determined in the assembled state by the two countersunk screws 4.
- FIGS. 2 and 5 A position during the pushing on, namely when the shafts 4a of the two countersunk screws 4 are in the region of the free, straight sections 13 of the keyhole-like recesses 12 is shown in FIGS. 2 and 5. From these figures it can easily be seen that both for assembly and also for the disassembly, the cylinder countersunk screws 4 do not yet have to be screwed into their bores or do not have to be completely unscrewed from them in order to ensure that the sole support plate 6 can be pushed on or pushed off unhindered.
- this measure also shows that the individual cylinder countersunk screws 4 only have to be loosened for a possible replacement of the sole support plate 6, but do not have to be completely unscrewed from their bores.
- this has the consequence that, on the one hand, the receiving bores of these screws 4 are not greatly affected and, on the other hand, the base plate 2 of the jaw body 3 always remains in its assembled position.
- FIG. 3 and 4 show the sole support plate 6 in its assembled state.
- the cylinder countersunk screws 4 are fully screwed in, the head 4b of each cylinder countersunk screw 4 being seated in the head section 14 of the associated keyhole recess 12 with the interposition of a sealing ring 4c, advantageously made of rubber.
- the tops of the individual heads 4b of the countersunk screws 4 close with the front cover side 15 of the sole support plate 6 from. This prevents protruding screw parts from hindering the movement of the ski boot.
- the use of sealing rings 4c further ensures that no moisture from snow or ice gets into the keyhole-like recesses 12.
- FIG. 2 shows how the two extensions 7 of the sole support plate 6 encompass the base plate 2, foot projections 2a, which are formed below the individual cheese head screws 4 on the base plate, ensuring a flat support of the base plate 2 and the sole support plate 6.
- the invention has also been described in connection with a metal band carrying a different jaw body at its other end. If required, however, a sole support plate according to the invention can also be used without the use of a metal band.
- the metal strip 5 serves as a guide for the side surfaces of the sole support plate 6, which are designed as a lying U-profile in cross section.
- FIG. 6 which is a cross section along the line VI-VI in FIG.
- the exemplary embodiment relates to a sole support plate 6 in connection with a jaw body 3 designed as a front jaw.
- a sole support plate designed in accordance with the invention and intended for the heel of the ski boot could be used with the same advantage. This would only require dimensional changes and adjustments to the design, which, however, are entirely within the ability of an average specialist.
- the invention is not based on the illustrated embodiment. It has already been mentioned that the front and the rear part of the entire ski binding can also be exchanged. It is also conceivable to use sole support plates designed according to the invention both in the front and in the rear cheek area. Furthermore, it is conceivable to use a sealing ring 4c instead of rubber made of a readily deformable plastic for sealing the space between the head section 14 of the individual recesses 12 and the heads 4b of the individual countersunk screws 4.
- Another modification would be to provide the base plate 2 of the jaw body 3 with a groove and to design the individual extensions 7 of the sole support plate 6 as springs which cooperate with these grooves.
- Such a design can be advantageous if the base plate is to lie with its underside fully on the top of the ski.
- this configuration has the disadvantage that the two extensions of the sole plate are weakened.
- this also reduces the resistance of the entire sole support plate with respect to its lateral support to the previously described embodiment.
- An advantage arises, however, from the outer side surfaces of the projections designed as springs, which are aligned with the two side surfaces of the base plate of the jaw body.
