Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cleaning device for beverage lines, in particular dispensing lines, with an automatically operating four-way changeover valve, which has a housing with a supply line connection connected to a cleaning liquid supply line, with two dispensing line connections connected to the ends of a dispensing line loop and with a drain connection and has a valve slide which switches over when at least one cleaning body conveyed by the dispensing line loop strikes it on the end face.
  • Such a cleaning device is known from DE-PS 33 47 003.
  • the cleaning liquid in particular water, is conveyed by the house water line or a pump under a certain pressure and flows through the dispensing line loop with the entrainment of one or more cleaning bodies.
  • These cleaning bodies are mostly designed as sponges, which are adapted to the tap line diameter; it can also be pearls or other cleaning elements.
  • the changeover valve switches to the other end position under the influence of the liquid pressure.
  • the cleaning fluid then flows through the dispensing line loop in the opposite direction, again taking the cleaning bodies with it, whereupon the work cycle is repeated.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a cleaning device of the type described at the outset which offers greater security with regard to switching.
  • This object is achieved in that a switching valve which temporarily interrupts the inflow of the cleaning liquid is arranged in the feed line.
  • this switching valve increases the switching security.
  • a high flow resistance is present, for example, in dispensing lines which assert a cooling position and have a correspondingly long length, or in dispensing lines for non-alcoholic beverages (AFG area) which only have an inside diameter of 5 mm instead of the 7 mm customary for beer lines.
  • the switching valve also has other advantages.
  • the cleaning bodies only advance in sections and therefore more slowly on average. Since even standing cleaning liquid loosens dirt as a result of the longer exposure time, it can be taken away more easily by the cleaning bodies. With the same fluid consumption, cleaning is more intensive and therefore better. Conversely, the same cleaning effect can be achieved with less consumption of cleaning fluid.
  • the switching processes lead to vibrations in the liquid column, which also help to loosen dirt.
  • the switching valve is a solenoid valve. This is easy to operate with a small design.
  • the switching valve can be controlled by a timer. If this timer is effective not only in the area of the changeover time, but during the entire cleaning period, the above-mentioned improved cleaning effect is also obtained because of the lower average speed of the cleaning bodies.
  • the switching valve and the timer element preferably form a structural unit. This can be installed in the supply line without difficulty.
  • the switching valve forms an attachment to the four-way switching valve.
  • the housing of the changeover valve forms a stable basis for the switching valve or the structural unit consisting of switching valve and timer element. The subsequent part of the supply line is not burdened by this switching valve.
  • the timer can open and close the switching valve for approximately the same length of time.
  • the intensive cleaning is hereby taken into account.
  • the timer can preferably be switched on together with a device that conveys the cleaning liquid. Whenever, for example, the feed pump is switched on, the timer is also effective.
  • a four-way switch valve 1 has a housing 2 with a supply connection 3, which is connected to a cleaning liquid supply line 4, two dispensing line connections 5 and 6, which are connected to the ends of a dispensing line loop 7, and a drain connection 8.
  • a slide 10 is axially displaceable, which has two valve openings 11 and 12 in an axial groove 13 on the circumference of the slide.
  • the valve opening 11 is connected via a channel 14 in the slide 10 with flow openings 15 on the end face 16 of the slide, the valve opening 12 via a channel 17 running in the slide with flow openings 18 on the end face 19 of the slide.
  • the respective one slide opening cooperates with the end face 20 of a supply connector 21, the other valve opening is connected to the drain connection 8 via a connection space 22.
  • Cleaning fluid is fed from a container 23 into the feed line 4 under pressure by means of a conveying device 24, here a pump 26 driven by an electric motor 25. It arrives in the arrang clear position of the slide 10 via the supply pipe 21 and the valve opening 11 and via the flow openings 15 and the dispensing line connection 4 in the dispensing line loop 7. It takes cleaning body 27, of which a sponge is shown here. The cleaning liquid then goes from the other dispensing line connection 6 via the flow openings 18 and the valve opening 12 to the drain connection. As soon as the cleaning bodies 27 reach the other end face 19, the flow openings 18 are covered, whereupon the switching should take place by axially displacing the slide 10 due to the pressure of the pump 26. Then the work cycle is repeated in the opposite direction.
  • a switching valve 28 with an actuating magnet 29 is provided in the feed line 4. This is actuated by a timer 30 which is connected to the mains voltage U with the aid of a double switch 31 together with the conveying device 24. As soon as the timer 30 is activated, it actuates the switching valve 28 in such a way that it is in each case for 3 to 4 seconds. is open. Then it is closed for the same time or for a shorter time, whereby the inflow of the cleaning liquid is interrupted. The resulting pressure changes in the dispensing line loop 7 have the effect that when the cleaning body or bodies 27 have closed the flow openings 15 and 18, the slide 10 is brought into the other working position with certainty.
  • Fig. 2 shows schematically how the solenoid valve 28 is mounted on the housing 2 of the four-way switch valve 1 and in turn forms a structural unit with the timer element 30.
  • the house water connection can also be used instead of the pump 26, so that water is supplied as a cleaning liquid under the usual water line pressure.
  • the flow openings 15 and 18 need not be attached to the end face of the actual slide body, but can be located on the end face of components connected to the slide 10.
  • DE-PS 33 47 003 As an example of the structure of a four-way switch valve, reference is made to DE-PS 33 47 003.
  • the function of the switching valve is, however, also effective in the case of four-way changeover valves which are constructed differently and can be operated automatically by the liquid pressure.
  • the switching valve was a 1.010 type solenoid valve from A + K Müller in Dusseldorf and the time switch 30 was an MV-IS1 interval switch from Kristensen GmbH in Harrislee.
