Definitions

  • the invention relates to a desk or work table with a table frame and an arranged, in particular inclinable, table top, the table frame having a fixed cross member running in the upper region of an edge of the table top, which is in front of the edge of the table top and an open top Shelf recess forms, and wherein on the outside of the cross member is a covering part extending at least over the length of the storage recess is arranged.
  • the present invention is therefore based on the object of creating a desk or work table of the type mentioned which has a faster and more easily accessible storage facility, in such a way that the stored things are nevertheless not visible if desired. This should be achieved in the most space-saving, simple and therefore inexpensive manner. In the case of an inclinable table top, it should also be achieved that lying on it Things can't fall to the floor.
  • cross member runs on the front edge of the table top and that the cover part is rotatable around the cross member and thereby covers the storage recess in its upward position and releases in its downward position.
  • the crossbeam is a part of the frame that is required because of the stability. This is only slightly offset and, so to speak, provides a forward-looking fixed extension of the table top. Only by appropriate profiling does the crossbeam receive the storage function, so that there is practically no additional effort for this further function and no other storage space in the table case or the like is lost.
  • the storage recess is located at the location closest to the user, so that the stored things are very easily accessible. It is just as easy to put it down. If the table top is placed at an angle, there is the additional advantage that the things lying on it slide into the storage recess by themselves. In all of this, the storage recess can be covered at any time with a single handle, for which purpose it is only necessary to twist the cover part. The stored things are then invisible, and the shape can also be made so that the storage function of the crossbar is not recognizable when it is covered.
  • the cover part expediently holds in its respective rotational position by self-locking. There is therefore no latching or the like, which further simplifies handling.
  • cover part in its rotational position covering the storage recess, adjoins the top of the table with its longitudinal edge area facing the table top.
  • At least the outside of the cross member and at least the inside of the inner part facing the cross member can have a concentric circular arc shape in cross section.
  • the crossmember and / or the cover part expediently both, can have a substantially partial cylindrical tubular shape, so that corresponding partial tube profiles can be used for the production of the crossmember and / or the cover part.
  • a particularly easy-to-manufacture and inexpensive for mounting rotary cover for the cover is obtained in that the front ends of the cross member are closed by end pieces that protrude radially over the cross member and have a bearing groove extending over a larger arc angle than the cover part in the above area which forms the pivot bearing for the front end of the cover part engaging in it.
  • the two ends of the cover are thus simply inserted into the bearing grooves of the two end parts and are guided in them.
  • the two can Form ends of the bearing groove against which the cover part rests in its end rotational positions.
  • the end parts are separate parts from the traverse, which are attached to the end face, for example screwed on. So that the end parts can be easily attached in the correct position, the end parts can have a centering groove for engaging the facing end of the crossmember. Since the centering groove and the bearing groove are arranged concentrically next to each other, the crossmember and the cover part no longer have to be adjusted to one another during assembly.
  • this can be articulated via a hinge to the longitudinal edge area of the traverse facing the table top.
  • Another preferred embodiment is the subject of claim 10.
  • Table 1 is primarily intended as a desk or work table for children and teenagers. It has a table top 2 which is adjustable between a horizontal position and one or more inclined positions. In the inclined position (such an inclined position is indicated by dash-dotted lines in FIG. 1, likewise the table top in FIG. 8 is inclined), the table top 2 extends in the direction away from the user backwards upwards, which facilitates, for example, reading books or writing . The person can then sit with a less curved back, which is healthier. In the respective inclined position, the table top 2 is held by a fitting part 10, which is only indicated by dashed lines.
  • the traverse described below with an associated cover part can be however, also apply to tables whose table top cannot be tilted. It then only eliminates the catch function for the objects sliding from the sloping tabletop into the storage recess of the crossbar. However, the other advantages remain unchanged.
  • the table top 2 is arranged on a table frame which contains a side part 3 and 4 at the two side table ends.
  • the table is with its side parts 3, 4 on the floor, whereby in the embodiment the side parts 3, 4 are of identical design and have a vertical support 5 on the back of the table, from which a foot arm 6 lying on the floor below and a support strut 7 to the front above Protrude user side.
  • the two side parts 3, 4 are stably connected to one another in a suitable manner, of which only one cross-member 8 is shown of these frame parts, which runs in the longitudinal direction of the table top in the front edge 9 of the table top 2.
  • Boxes with drawers or the like can be fastened to the table frame in a conventional manner, such a box 11 being indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 1.
  • the cross member 8 forms a fixed frame part and thus has a supporting function. It expediently consists of metal, but also other materials sufficient strength, so possibly also a hard plastic or possibly even wood.
  • the crossmember 8 is in front of the front edge 9 of the table top 2 and is fixed in a suitable manner on the table side parts 3, 4.
  • the cross member 8 extends between the front ends of the support struts 7 of the two side parts 3, 8.
  • the cross member 8 is screwed onto the support struts 7.
  • the front end regions 12 of the support struts 7 have a fastening surface 13 facing forwards with threaded bores 14.
  • the crossmember 8 is placed against the fastening surfaces 13 from the front, then fastening screws 15 are screwed through the crossmember into the threaded bores 14.
  • the end region 12 of the support struts 7 also forms a further fastening surface 16 adjacent to the fastening surface 13 with a threaded bore 17, the further fastening surface 16 being at right angles to the fastening surface 13 and pointing towards the relevant table side.
  • the end part 12 of the end region 12 of the support strut 7 forming the fastening surfaces 13 and 16 is widened in the longitudinal direction of the truss in relation to the other support strut 7, as can be seen from FIG. 4, so that the further fastening surface 16 lies in the end plane of the traverse 8. It goes without saying that the support strut 7 could also be made wider overall.
  • the end strut end region 12 is angled toward the top at the front.
  • the crossbeam 8 is designed so that it forms a storage recess 18 which is open at the top and is located in front of the table top 2. Any objects such as pens etc. can be stored in the storage recess 18.
  • the outer side 19 of the crossmember 8 facing away from the storage recess 18 has an arcuate shape when viewed in cross section.
  • the inside 20 of the crossmember 8, which forms the storage surface is correspondingly curved in the form of a circular arc when viewed in cross section, so that the crossmember 8 has an essentially part-cylindrical tubular shape and can be formed by a corresponding profile piece.
  • the cross member 8, viewed in cross-section, extends over such an arc angle that it delimits the storage recess 18 at the bottom and at the front and rear, thereby leaving access to the storage recess 18 at the top.
  • the one longitudinal edge region of the part-cylindrical tubular cross member 8 is screwed onto the fastening surface 13 of the support struts 7.
  • This longitudinal edge region 21 of the support strut 8 extends below the front edge 9 of the table top 2, so that on this side the table top front edge 9 is the access opening for the storage recess 18 limited. If, as shown, it is an inclinable table top 2, this can be connected in an articulated manner to the longitudinal edge region 21 of the crossmember 8 facing the table top via a hinge, for example, in the manner of a piano hinge.
  • the hinge 22 is located between the two table frame support struts 7.
  • the other longitudinal edge region 23 of the crossmember 8 delimits the access opening to the storage recess 18 on the side facing the user.
  • This longitudinal edge region 23 is only pulled up so far that it does not extend, or at most only slightly beyond the level of the table top 24 above, especially in the case of a horizontal table top 2.
  • the longitudinal edge area 23 could otherwise be a hindrance when working. If you place the table top 2 at an angle, the longitudinal edge region 23 protrudes somewhat above the level of the table top top 24, so that objects sliding down from the table top are retained and fall into the storage recess 18. However, this function can also be performed by the cover part to be described.
  • a cover part 25 which extends at least over the length of the storage recess 18 and which can be rotated around the crossmember 8 and thereby covers the storage recess 18 in its upward position (FIGS. 2, 3 and 7) and releases it in its downward position (FIG. 8). With the help of the cover part 25, the storage recess 18 can thus be closed.
  • the storage recess 18 extends over the entire length of the crossmember 8, since this has the part-cylindrical cross-section throughout, so that the cover part 25 is the same length as the crossmember 8.
  • the cover part 25 forms, so to speak, a rotating lid for the storage recess 18.
  • the inside 26 of the cover part 25 facing the outside of the cross member 19 has an arcuate shape concentric to the outside of the cross member 19.
  • the outer side 27 of the cover part 25 is circular in cross-section, so that the cover part 25 also has a substantially part-cylindrical tubular shape.
  • the outside 27 of the cover part 25 could, however, also be designed differently.
  • the circular arc shape is optically favorable.
  • the production from a part-cylindrical tubular profile is easy. The same applies to the inside 20 of the crossmember 8.
  • the axis of rotation of the cover part 25 is expediently placed in such a way that the cover part 25, in its rotational position covering the storage recess 18, faces the table top 2 Longitudinal edge region 28 adjoins the top 24 thereof.
  • the cover part 25 then ends at the front edge 9 of the table top.
  • the outer shape of the cover part 25 at this longitudinal edge region 28 expediently deviates from the circular shape in that the cover part outside 27 just ends here in order to obtain a good connection to the table top 24.
  • the required thickening of the longitudinal edge region 28 can either be formed in one piece or can be achieved by a lip or the like (not shown) attached to the cover part.
  • the cover part 25 extends over such an arc angle that at least the storage recess 18 is covered in the closed position. It is particularly advantageous for optical reasons if the cover part 25 extends over a larger arc angle than the access opening to the storage recess 18, so that the storage part 25 in the rotational position covering the storage recess also follows on the front facing the user via the cross member 8 extends below.
  • the cover part 25 is freely rotatable, as will be explained in detail, and holds in its respective rotational position by self-locking. This is easy for both manufacture and handling, and you can also put your fingers between the front edge of the table top and the longitudinal edge area 28 of the cover part do not pinch painfully.
  • the longitudinal edge region 28 of the cover part 25 when it is in the open rotational position, can protrude upward over the longitudinal edge region 23 of the cross member 8.
  • the longitudinal edge region 28 of the cover part 25 can take over the catching function described above in connection with the longitudinal edge region 23 of the crossmember 8 for objects sliding down from the inclined table top.
  • the pivoting of the cover part 25 can be carried out in various ways. A particularly simple option is described below:
  • the front ends of the crossmember 8 are closed by cover-like end parts 29, which are of the same design.
  • the end parts 29 can be screwed on. This can be done on the one hand on the relevant support strut 7 on the further fastening surface 16 and on the other hand on the cross member 8.
  • the threaded bore 17 provided for this purpose on the further fastening surface 16 has already been mentioned.
  • a corresponding threaded bore 30 is formed on the crossmember 8, on the inside 20 of which a thickening 31 containing the threaded bore 30 can be formed. Accordingly, the cover part 29 has two screw holes 32, 33.
  • the two end parts 29 protrude in the radial direction over the crossmember and, in the projecting area, have a bearing groove 34 which extends over a larger arc angle than the cover part 25 and which forms the rotary bearing for the front end of the cover part 25 which engages in them.
  • the assembly procedure is such that one end part 29 is first attached to one side of the desk. Then you insert the cover part 25 with its facing end in the bearing groove 34 of this end part. Then you attach the opposite end part 29, which is increased with its bearing groove 34 when attached to the cross member on the opposite end of the cover part 25. The cover part 25 can then be rotated in the bearing grooves 34.
  • the thickening 28 begins at a distance from the front end of the cover part, so that it can be inserted undisturbed by the thickening in the bearing groove.
  • the two ends 35, 36 of the bearing groove 34 form stops for the cover part 25, against which the cover part 25 rests in its end rotational positions.
  • the cover part 25 must be arranged centered with respect to the crossmember 8. This can be achieved very easily, for example, in that the end parts 29 also have a Has centering groove 37 for engaging the facing end of the crossmember 8. When attaching the relevant end part 29, it is thus plugged with its centering groove 37 onto the cross member 8. Since the bearing groove 34 is concentric with the centering groove 37, the cover part 25 is immediately in the correct position.
  • the bearing groove 34 and the centering groove 36 are not separated from one another but merge into one another and form a widened groove area which extends between the already mentioned end 36 of the bearing groove 34 which the cover part 25 strikes in its open position, and extends the end 38 of the centering groove 37, on which the longitudinal edge region 23 of the crossmember 8 is located.
  • the bearing groove and the centering groove could also run separately from one another.
  • the traverse 8 seated in the centering groove 37 and the cover part 25 seated in the bearing groove 34, which is located here in the closed position are indicated by a line.
