Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for dispensing labels for the labeling of goods, which are individually lined up past a labeling position and are thereby equipped with a label located in the labeling position, in which a bobbin is wound from a label strip with individually lined-up labels or the like stock is formed is, in which the label tape is then withdrawn from the supply and guided to a label dispenser, whereby a new label in each case comes to a ready position on the label dispenser and the label preceding it comes from the label dispenser in a straight line extension of its last movement section into the labeling position and thereby is separated from the leftover tape of the label tape by deflecting the leftover tape at the edge of the label dispenser in a direction which differs significantly from the direction of movement of the label reaching the labeling position cht, and in which the label tape is driven by pulling on the carrier tape already separated from the labels and a device and a label tape for performing this method.
  • the label tape In a labeling machine known from US Pat. No. 4,224,872, the label tape consists of a carrier tape onto which the labels deposited with a self-adhesive layer are temporarily glued. Such label tapes are expensive.
  • the object of the invention is to improve a method and a device of the type mentioned in such a way that they can be operated with simpler, less expensive label tapes.
  • the method for solving the above-mentioned object is characterized in that the label tape is a strip of label material, preferably paper, that the labels are pre-punched out of the label tape before the stock is formed from it, with a die cut which, with the exception of some Narrow adhesive bridges in each case extend over the entire circumference of the label and that the one or more front adhesive bridges of each label in the forward direction are cut first and only then the one or more remaining adhesive bridges located in the forward direction at the back and only shortly before the relevant label is removed from the carrier tape is separated.
  • the label tape is a strip of label material, preferably paper, that the labels are pre-punched out of the label tape before the stock is formed from it, with a die cut which, with the exception of some Narrow adhesive bridges in each case extend over the entire circumference of the label and that the one or more front adhesive bridges of each label in the forward direction are cut first and only then the one or more remaining adhesive bridges located in the forward direction at the back and only shortly before the relevant label is removed from the
  • stampable film material can also be considered as label material, for example plastic film, metal film or textiles.
  • the remaining adhesive bridges which temporarily hold the labels in the label tape, can be designed so narrow and can also be positioned so that they can be cut with a simple straight cut or tear, without this being shown disadvantageously in the outer contour of the finished label.
  • the separation can take place, for example, by punching, cutting, tearing, burning through, melting or using a gas jet, depending on the label material used. Punching or cutting is preferred for separating because it leads to clean separating cuts with simple effort, regardless of the label material used.
  • the label in question is first removed from the carrier tape solved that it can no longer follow the deflection movement of the carrier tape at the edge of the label dispenser, but begins to advance straight into the labeling position.
  • the initially remaining one or more adhesive bridges located at the back form a provisional last connection with the carrier tape while the label in question is being fed into the labeling position, which ensures that this label is fed into the labeling position.
  • 1 denotes a label tape bobbin from which the label tape 2 is pulled off.
  • the label tape 2 first passes through a tape tensioner 3, then the label printer 4 - which can also be omitted if the labels are already printed or should not be printed. Subsequently, the label tape runs through a tape store 5, which elastically stores a label tape section in the form of a loop. The label strip 2 then arrives at the label dispenser 6.
  • the label dispenser 6 has a dispensing edge 24 which extends across the label bandwidth. At this dispensing edge, the residual carrier tape 9 is returned at an acute angle and arrives at the winding device 10, while the labels, due to their internal rigidity and in continuation of their straight-line movement, successively reach the labeling position, which takes up the label 8 in FIG.
  • the label that has reached the labeling position passes through a glue device 19, through which it is glued on the back, for example by spraying on glue.
  • Goods 13, 14, 15 are conveyed lined up past the labeling position, in the same direction of movement according to arrow 16 and at approximately the same speed as the label delivered, for example label 8.
  • a pressure roller which denotes the delivered label is designated by 18 , In the labeling position, label 8 presses on the goods 14 passing by, so that it sticks there.
  • a gluing device 12 directed at the corresponding location of the goods 15 delivered for labeling can also be provided.
  • activation devices can also be provided in the event that inactive adhesive layers are already present on the back of the label or on the top of the goods, but which have to be activated for gluing, for example moistened or heated.
  • a drive device which has a driven roller 101 around which the residual carrier belt 9 is wound.
  • This roller is driven step by step by the motor 102 and drives the residual carrier tape 9 and thus pulls the label tape 2.
  • the label tape 2 moves forward by one label grid.
  • a drive for the label tape 2 is provided in the tape store 5.
  • These drives are controlled as a function of the goods passing through, specifically by means of a control device 104 which, if necessary, also controls the glue device 12 or 19.
  • This control device 104 is in turn controlled by a first light barrier 48, which is directed towards the web of the goods to be labeled 13, 14, 15 and from a second light barrier 49, which is directed towards the labels reaching the label dispenser 6.
  • a label located in the ready position on the label dispenser 6 reaches the labeling position, which takes up the label 8 and from there on the associated goods.
  • the leftover carrier tape that is the part of the label tape that is not formed by the labels, is wound up on the winding device 10, which is driven by the motor 92 in a slip manner in the direction of the arrow 93.
  • the motor 92 is also controlled by the control device 104.
  • the label strip 2 consists of a paper strip from which - as can also be seen from FIG. 8 - the labels 50, 70, 71, 72 are punched out while leaving adhesive bridges 51, 52, 53, 54, 73, 74, 75, 76. These die cuts are made before the label tape 2 opens onto the bobbin is rolled, preferably already in the paper mill.
  • the label dispenser 6 will now be explained in more detail with reference to FIGS. 2 to 6.
  • the label dispenser 6 consists of a frame 20 which is fastened with a stop element 23 to the chassis of the labeling machine from FIG. 1, not shown.
  • a flat dispensing rail 21 is attached to the frame and extends plane-parallel to the path of the label strip 2, namely transversely to the forward direction according to arrow 22 of the label strip 2.
  • the dispensing rail extends over more than the entire width of the label strip 2.
  • the dispensing rail Relative to the forward direction according to arrow 22 of the label tape 2, in front, the dispensing rail has a dispensing edge 24 which also extends over more than the width of the web of the label tape.
  • the dispensing rail 21 extends immediately below the path of the label tape.
  • a guide rail 25 is arranged at the rear end of the frame, which extends plane-parallel to the label web below the label web.
  • the two rails 21 and 25 are connected to one another by rods 26, 27 which extend laterally from the label web.
  • a bearing block 28 is arranged on the rod 26 so as to be longitudinally displaceable, which can be fixed by means of a hand screw 36, to which a punching bridge 29 is fastened which is supported on the other rod 27.
  • the punching bridge extends over the label tape web and has an elongated hole 30 which extends over the entire width of the label tape web and in which two die-cutting tools 31, 32 are fastened laterally.
  • the punching tools are magnetically operated bare punches, the punch knives 33, 34 are mounted against rotation and driven by magnetic excitation from their raised ineffective position downwards through the path of the label tape 2 through.
  • Another punching bridge 35 is arranged opposite the dispensing rail 21 and also extends above the path of the label tape.
  • a punching tool 37 is arranged on this punching bridge and is designed in exactly the same way as the punching tools 31 and 32.
  • a hole 39 is provided in the dispensing rail 21 for the punching knife 38 of the punching tool 37, as can be seen in FIG.
  • the punch 37 can also be arranged to be laterally displaceable.
  • an elongated hole corresponding to the elongated hole 30 is provided in the punched bridge 35 and the punched bridge 35 may be lengthened accordingly.
  • the hole 39 is then also correspondingly extended by an elongated hole, or discrete holes are additionally provided which correspond to the different positions of the punch 37.
  • Further punching tools can then be mounted on a punching bridge 35 modified in this way. In addition to the punching bridges 29 and 35, it is possible to provide further punching bridges with further punching tools. All punching tools are controlled by the control device 104.
  • the label tape 2 is shown in Figure 8.
  • Oval labels 70, 71, 72 are punched out, which are identically shaped and pre-punched over their entire circumference, with the exception of four adhesive bridges each.
  • the punched sections of the label 70 are designated 44, 45, 46, 47 and each extend about 1/4 of the circumference.
  • the adhesive bridges 73, 74, 75, 76 belong to the label 70.
  • the adhesive bridge 73 also belongs to the label 71.
  • Each of the adhesive bridges extends each over 2 mm (millimeters) of the label circumference, while the entire label circumference is 60 mm.
  • the two adhesive bridges 74 and 76 extend in the middle of the lateral bulges of the label circumference.
  • the adhesive bridges are evenly distributed over the circumference of the label.
  • the labels 70, 71, 72 and the labels (not shown) of the label strip 2 are pre-punched in an identical geometrical manner and are uniformly lined up one behind the other.
  • punched holes are provided in the label strip in addition to the labels, which can serve as markings for light barrier 49.
  • the punch holes are geometrically assigned to the individual labels. Instead of these punched holes, the light barrier 49 can also be directed at printed markings on certain contours of the punched sections 44 to 47.
  • the three punching tools 31, 32 and 37 are sufficient for processing a label tape according to FIG. 8. These three punching tools correspond to a label 50 or 70, which adheres to the carrier tape with four adhesive bridges 51 to 54 or 73 to 76.
  • the punch knives 33, 34 extend transversely to the adhesive bridges 51, 52 or 74, 76.
  • the punch knives 38 extend transversely to the adhesive bridges 53, 54 or 73, 75.
  • the punch knives are wider than the associated adhesive bridges, so that with a Punching stroke is in each case completely cut through the relevant adhesive bridge and the separating cut is in the extension of the punching sections 44, 45, 46, 47.
  • the label 50 is in the ready position on the label dispenser 6.
  • the punch knives 33, 34, 38 are directed towards the adhesive bridges 51, 52, 53 located in the forward direction according to arrow 22.
  • the three punching tools 31, 32, 37 are excited simultaneously, preferably when the label strip 2 is at a standstill, and cut through the adhesive bridges 51, 52, 53 in a common working stroke.
