Claims (9)

  1. Appareil pour tendre et fermer un ruban de cerclage (3) en matière plastique passé autour d'un paquet (1), comprenant un premier dispositif de serrage (4) pour le maintien de la section de début inférieure (3a) du ruban de cerclage (3), une roue de serrage (14) destinée à agir sur la section supérieure (3b) du ruban de cerclage (3) en vue de tendre ledit ruban de cerclage (3), un dispositif de soudure par friction (8) pour relier des sections (3a', 3b') du ruban de cerclage (3) qui se recouvrent, placé dans la direction de serrage (A) en amont de la roue de serrage (14) et muni de deux mâchoires de soudage (9, 10) pouvant être déplacées l'une par rapport à l'autre, un second dispositif de serrage (16) pour le maintien de la section supérieure (3b) du ruban de cerclage (3) placé dans la direction de serrage (A) en amont du dispositif de soudure par friction (8) et pouvant être activé après la fin de l'opération de serrage, un système de détente (32, 34) qui peut être activé, après la fin de l'opération de serrage, pour agir sur la roue de serrage (14) et qui provoque une diminution de la force de traction exercée à la fin de l'opération de serrage par la roue de serrage (14) sur le ruban de cerclage (3) pour maintenir dans la section (3c) du ruban de cerclage (3) située dans la direction de serrage (A) en aval du dispositif de soudure par friction (8), un effort de traction résiduel (σ₂) qui est plus faible que l'effort de traction (σ₁) dans le ruban de cerclage (3) à la fin de l'opération de serrage, et un organe de séparation (12) intercalé entre le dispositif de soudure par friction (8) et la roue de serrage (14) et servant à sectionner la section supérieure (3b) du ruban de cerclage (3) après le soudage de ce dernier.
  2. Appareil selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que le dispositif de détente comprend un système de commande (32) pour la libération de la roue de serrage (14) après l'activation du second dispositif de serrage (16) ainsi qu'un système de freinage (34) agissant sur la roue de serrage (14), qui répond après une certaine rotation de la roue de serrage (14) libérée et sous l'action du ruban de cerclage (3) tendu et bloque ladite roue de serrage (14) de façon à empêcher une rotation en arrière supplémentaire.
  3. Appareil selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que la roue de serrage (14) est couplée avec un système d'encliquetage (27) qui empêche la rotation en arrière de celle-ci et qui peut être déverrouillé après la fin de l'opération de serrage et après l'activation du second dispositif de serrage (16) par le système de commande (32).
  4. Appareil selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que le système d'encliquetage comprend une roue à cliquet (26) couplée en rotation avec la roue de serrage (14), ainsi qu'un cliquet d'arrêt (28) coopérant avec ladite roue à cliquet et sollicité en vue de son déverrouillage par un organe de commande (32), de préférence un disque à cames, du système de commande.
  5. Appareil selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que le système de freinage est un frein à friction (34) qui agit sur l'arbre (25) de la roue de serrage (14).
  6. Appareil selon la revendication 5, caractérisé en ce que, pour la génération d'un moment de freinage déterminé, le frein à friction (34) comprend des organes de freinage (35, 37) appliqués l'un contre l'autre avec une force correspondante, l'un des organes de freinage (35) étant monté sur l'arbre (25) de la roue de serrage (14) et l'autre organe de freinage (37) étant monté fixe.
  7. Appareil selon l'une des revendications 1 à 6, caractérisé en ce que la roue de serrage est une roue à fentes (14) avec au moins une fente (14a, 14b) destinée à la mise en place du ruban de cerclage (3).
  8. Appareil selon l'une des revendications 1 à 7, caractérisé en ce que la mâchoire de soudage supérieure (9) est conformée en poinçon de serrage pouvant être relevé et abaissé, et que la mâchoire de soudage inférieure (10) peut être animée d'un mouvement alternatif.
  9. Appareil selon l'une des revendications 1 ou 8, caractérisé en ce que l'une des mâchoires de soudage, de préférence la mâchoire de soudage inférieure (10), peut être entraînée transversalement à la direction longitudinale du ruban, et que l'organe de séparation (12) comporte un couteau qui peut être entraîné en synchronisme avec ladite mâchoire de soudage (10).
