Abstract

Zum Verformen des Materials wie Hohlprofilen, Rohren usw. wird dieses in einen Aufnahmespalt zwischen einer Hohlform (40) mit Vertiefungen (35, 36, 37, 38, 39) einerseits und elasti­ schen Formstücken (12, 13, 14, 15, 16) andererseits ein­ gebracht. Die elastischen Formstücke sind in einem Ge­ häuse mit nichtelastischen Zwischenstücken (29, 30, 31, 32) geschichtet angeordnet, wobei lediglich eine Verfor­ mung in Richtung auf den Aufnahmespalt möglich ist. Durch Druck auf die Schichtung von elastischen Form­ stücken und nichtelastischen Zwischenstücken werden die elastischen Formstücke (12, 13, 14, 15, 16) in Richtung auf das zu verformende Material (33) elastisch verformt, wodurch das Material (33) bleibend in die Vertiefungen der Hohlform (40) hineinverformt wird.
Das Verfahren und die Vorrichtung sind insbesondere für das Verformen von rohrförmigem Material, beispielsweise zur Verbindung zwischen einem Rohr und ei­ nem stangenförmigen Endstück, anwendbar.
