Claims (5)

  1. Papier noir et blanc à gradation variable comprenant au moins une couche d'emulsion à l'halogénure d'argent constituée par un mélange d'au moins deux émulsions photosensibles à l'halogénure d'argent, dont la première a son maximum d'absorption dans le domaine de 480 à 580 nm et l'autre en dessous de 480 nm, caractérisé en ce que l'émulsion qui a son maximum d'absorption en dessous de 480 nm contient un composé de formule

    dans laquelle
    X   représente les chaînons restants d'un radical hétérocyclique éventuellement benzo- ou naphto-condensé et contenant éventuellement d'autres substituants.
  2. Papier noir et blanc à gradation variable selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que l'émulsion qui a son maximum d'absorption en dessous de 480 nm contient un composé de formule

    dans laquelle
    R₁ et R₂ sont les chaînons restants d'un radical benzo- ou naphto-substitué par au moins un groupe sulfo, qui peut contenir éventuellement d'autres substituants.
  3. Papier noir et blanc à gradation variable selon la revendication 2, dans lequel R₁ et R₂ représentent les chaînons restants d'un radical benzo- ou naphto-substitué par un ou deux groupes sulfo, qui peut être substitué par un groupe alkyle en C₁-C₄ ou par un atome d'halogène.
  4. Papier noir et blanc à gradation variable selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que les émulsions contiennent des halogénures d'argent constitués par 20 à 80 moles % de chlorure, 20 à 80 moles de % de bromure et 0 à 5 moles % d'iodure.
  5. Papier noir et blanc à gradation variable selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que la granulométrie moyenne des émulsions à l'halogénure d'argent se situe de 0,2 à 0,6 µm.
