- the monitoring device 4 is a microprocessor which continuously checks whether the ground potential is present via the plug connection.
- the signaling contact 12 is first released from the contact sleeve 22 of the socket part 2 the ground potential is no longer present at the microprocessor and this generates a warning message W.
- This warning message W (not shown in FIG. 1) causes a warning lamp to light up, which alerts the operator of the vehicle to the detachable plug connection. This can then intervene accordingly before the useful circuit is opened via the long useful contact 11.
- the individual signaling contacts 12 can be connected in series in a signaling circuit. This means that a separate input on the microprocessor is not required for each plug connection.
