Definitions

  • the invention relates to a shower head with a first shower device, which has a plurality of shower holes, and with a plurality of pins arranged in extension of the shower holes and corresponding in diameter to the diameter of the shower holes, which are displaceable for penetrating into and piercing the shower holes are trained.
  • a shower is known (DE-PS 804 089), in which a displaceable plate is arranged within the shower head, which can be moved forward from the rear of the shower head. Pins attached to the plate push through the shower holes in the front of the shower from the inside. With this sliding plate, the shower holes are to be cleaned of rust and slag particles. However, the cleaning requires an operation, so that it is not ensured that the cleaning device is actually used.
  • a shower device (DE-PS 717 583) is also known, in which a displaceable plate is arranged within the shower head and is pushed forward under water pressure.
  • the slidable plate contains pins which engage in the shower holes already in the rest position and reach through them under water pressure, thereby forming the jet.
  • the diameter of the pins is smaller than the diameter of the holes.
  • Pins interacting with the shower holes are floatingly mounted on the plate, the outside diameter of which is smaller than the inside diameter of the shower holes.
  • the pins can be inserted into the shower holes by moving the plate to clean them and change the spray shape.
  • the shower head contains only one shower device.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a shower head in which the cleaning of the shower holes from deposits, in particular limescale, is carried out frequently and at regular intervals without the user having to do anything special.
  • the shower head has a second alternative or in addition to the first operable shower device provided with shower openings and a switchover device is arranged for switching between the two shower devices, which switches the pins into when switching from the first to the second shower device or pushes through the shower holes of the first shower device.
  • a switchover device is arranged for switching between the two shower devices, which switches the pins into when switching from the first to the second shower device or pushes through the shower holes of the first shower device.
  • the second shower device is constructed in exactly the same way as the first, i.e. also has shower holes with pins arranged in their extension. In this case, alternating cleaning of both shower devices would occur.
  • the second shower device it is also possible for the second shower device to have a different jet shape, for example a so-called soft jet which is strongly ventilated.
  • the invention can also be used if, according to the invention, a third shower device is present on the shower head, for example a massage jet.
  • the switching device when the second and possibly third shower device is switched on, the switching device is designed such that the pins are then arranged in the shower holes of the first shower device.
  • the switching device can advantageously be arranged and designed such that the pins are actuated when switching from each shower device to every other shower device. For example, it is possible to actuate the second shower device at one end of the adjustment path of the actuating device and the third shower device at the opposite end, the first shower device with the pins being in the middle. Then cleaning can take place automatically in both end positions.
  • the shower holes of the first shower device have the shape of long blind hole-like bores which are narrowed in their outlet area, the pins extending into the non-narrowed area in the idle state.
  • an annular gap is formed for the flow of water in the initial area of the boreholes, which already prevents the penetration of larger particles.
  • the water withdraws somewhat from the holes due to capillary action when this shower device is not in operation, so that the risk of calcification is already reduced.
  • the switching device has a rotary element and the pins are attached to a ring which is axially displaceable when the actuating element is rotated. It can of course also be provided that the ring can be rotated together with the element which contains the shower holes, a displacement occurring simultaneously with the rotation.
  • the movement of the ring or of the other element carrying the pins can take place by means of a link guide or a groove which interacts with a counter element.
  • the type of movement of the pins can be achieved by appropriate design of the groove or the link guide.
  • the groove can have the shape of a V or a W.
  • the shower head of FIG. 1 contains a screwed-in central part 12 in a grip element 11, which has a central, extended bearing projection 13 and a concentric outer apron 14. Parallel to the bearing shoulder 13, the central part contains two axial water passages 15, 16.
  • a rotary slide valve 16 is mounted on the bearing shoulder 13 and is secured with the aid of a screw 17.
  • the rotary valve 16 contains an apron 18 concentric with its axis of rotation, which extends to the underside of the shower head.
  • a shower base 19 is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the rotary slide valve 16 and accommodates two shower devices in its axial underside 20, namely a row of shower holes 21 in the edge region and a row of openings 22 for aerated water jets concentrically to these.
  • These two rows of shower holes 21 or openings 22 are separated by an approximately cylindrical wall 23 which has an inwardly directed flange 24 on its inside approximately halfway up. The inside of the flange 24 abuts the rotary slide valve 16.
  • the rotary slide valve 16 contains a plurality of passages, of which only a single passage 25 can be seen in FIG. 1. In the position shown, this passage 25 is connected to the water inflow and directs the water through the openings 15 to the outside of the wall 23. Here, the water can flow outside through the shower holes 21.
  • the openings 15, 16 come into correspondence with other passages, one of which leads into the space 26 above the flange 24.
  • This space 26 extends as a ring around the axis of rotation of the rotary valve 16, which is formed by the screw 17.
  • the flange 24 has individual small holes 27 which lead the water to the openings 22 for the aerated jet.
  • a rotor 30 is provided which alternately opens and closes openings 32 in the end plate 33 with a valve plate 31. The rotor is rotated by the water flowing in from the side.
  • a ring 34 is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the wall 23 and is arranged so as to be displaceable in the axial direction of the bearing projection 13.
  • the ring 34 is shown in its one axial end position, while it is shown in the right half in the opposite axial end position.
  • the ring 34 contains on its underside a series of cylindrical pins 35, each pin 35 being arranged in the extension of a shower hole 21 in the shower base 19. In the position shown on the right in FIG. 1, the pin 35 already engages in the shower hole 21.
  • a total of three pins 36 are arranged distributed over the circumference, which engage in a groove formed in the outside of the ring 34. If the rotary slide valve is rotated with the aid of the outer grip ring 37 and the water is thereby switched to one of the three shower devices, the ring 34 with the shower base 19 is rotated at the same time. Depending on the arrangement of the groove in which the pin 36 engages, a simultaneous axial displacement of the ring 34 and thus of the pins 35 can take place, which are then inserted into the shower holes 21 until they slightly project beyond the underside 20 of the shower base 19.
  • FIG. 2 shows a schematic side view of the ring 34 with the pins 35 arranged on its underside, only a few of which are shown for reasons of simplification.
  • three zigzag grooves 39 are formed, only one of which can be seen in FIG. 2.
  • This groove 39 interacts with the pin 36 in the outer skirt 14 of the central part 12.
  • This pin 36 is shown schematically on the left.
  • the ends 40 of the groove 39 correspond to the position in which the pins 35 are withdrawn as far as possible from the shower holes 21. In this position of the rotary slide valve 16, the water therefore flows through the shower holes 21 of the first shower device. If the grip ring 37 is now rotated, the pin 36 engages on the side edges of the groove 39 and moves the ring 34 downward in FIG.
  • the arrangement of the groove 39 is selected such that the top 41 on the left of the groove 39 corresponds to the position in which the second shower device is fully switched on, that is to say in the example in FIG. 1, the openings 22 for the aerated jet. In this position, the pins 35 are maximally inserted into the shower holes 21.
  • the ring 34 continues to rotate in the direction of the arrow 42 in FIG. 2, the ring 34 is then moved axially again such that the pins 35 are pulled out of the shower holes 21.
  • the next following peak 42 of the groove 39 corresponds to the activated third shower device, that is to say the massage shower 29.
  • the groove 39' has the shape of a V.
  • the second shower device is fully in operation and the pins 35 are fully inserted into the shower holes 21.
  • the third shower device is switched on, and the pins 35 are also fully inserted into the shower holes 21.
  • the pins 35 are pulled out of the shower holes 21 and the first outer shower device is switched on. The shower holes 21 of the first shower device are thus cleaned automatically each time the shower is switched over, without the user noticing anything about it.
  • a rotating sleeve 141 is fitted over the outer wall 112 of the housing 111.
  • the rotating sleeve 141 engages with an inwardly directed shoulder 142 in a corresponding, upwardly open recess 143 in the top of the front wall 114 of the housing 111.
  • the outside of the rotating sleeve 141 thus runs flush with the outside of the housing 111.
  • the inside of the rotating sleeve 141 lies against the entire outside of the outer wall 112, so that there is a flat contact.
  • the rotating sleeve 141 has two holes 145 in its lower region 144 adjacent to the jet disk 119, each with a pin 146 inserted.
  • the outer sides 147 of the pins 146 do not protrude beyond the outer side of the rotating sleeve 141.
  • the pins 146 protrude with their inner ends 148 into slots 149 which are formed in the cylindrical outside of the jet disc 119.
  • the shape of the slots is shown in FIG. 5.
  • ribs 50 are formed, which engage in corresponding, not visible grooves on the inside of the spray disc 119.
  • the release position of the jet disc 119 is shown on the left in FIG. 4, while the opposite end position is shown on the right in FIG. 4.
  • FIG. 5 shows a side view of the jet disk 119 of the embodiment according to FIG. 4.
  • the slot 149 already mentioned is formed in the outside 51 of the jet disk 119.
  • This slot runs slightly obliquely with respect to the transverse axis of the jet disk 119 and has a constant width.
  • the pin 146 seen in FIG. 4 engages in the slot in such a way that its two sides abut the longitudinal edges of the slot 149. Since the jet disk 119 is secured against rotation by the interaction of the ribs 50 with the grooves, rotation of the rotating sleeve 141 causes the jet disk 119 to move up or down. If the pin 146 is moved to the left by the rotating sleeve 141 in FIG. 5, the jet disk 119 is pushed upwards, while a rightward displacement of the pin 146 leads to a downward movement of the jet disk 119.
  • the spray disc 119 in the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5 has a lower outer flange 52, which covers the lower edge of the cylindrical outer wall 112 of the housing 111.
  • the pins 60 are integrally formed on a plate 61 which has through holes 62 for the flowing water.
  • the pins 60 cooperate with holes 63 from which the water emerges from the shower.
  • the plate 61 is acted upon by a compression spring 64 in a direction which tries to push the pins 60 out of the holes 63.
  • a lug 65 is formed on the top of the plate 62 and has an annular groove 66 for receiving a seal.
  • a transverse shaft 67 is used to adjust the plate 61 and is formed eccentrically in its area 68 which interacts with the projection 65.
  • the top of the extension 65 lies against this eccentric area 68.
  • two lugs 72 are formed on the top of the plate 71, which cooperate in a similar way with a central eccentric section 73 of an adjusting shaft 74.
  • the shaft 74 has a gear 75 which meshes with a gear 76 of the actual adjusting shaft 78.
