Definitions

  • the invention relates to a suction cleaning tool according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • suction cleaning tools For cleaning upholstered surfaces, such as upholstered furniture, seat and back surfaces of seating devices in vehicles, etc., which are provided with a textile covering, suction cleaning tools are used which are connected to a stationary or portable suction cleaning device via a suction line. Since these upholstery surfaces are mainly cleaned dry, the suction cleaning tool should be provided with bristles to achieve a thorough cleaning effect. This results in a mechanical detachment of the dirt particles from the upholstery cover in addition to the dirt absorption by the suction air flow.
  • a vacuum cleaner nozzle is known (DE-OS 20 52 606), in which the entire nozzle body can be pivoted about a connecting piece that can be detachably connected to the suction line.
  • the nozzle body is partly designed as a flat nozzle with bristles and partly as a crevice nozzle.
  • this nozzle construction has the disadvantage that the fixed bristle stock of the flat brush nozzle can only be moved with considerable effort by the operator over the surfaces to be cleaned, since the rigid bristles can get caught in the textile covering of the upholstery surface. This leads to rapid fatigue of the operator and poor cleaning results, particularly in commercial cleaning, for example of upholstered seats in buses, taxis, passenger coaches, etc.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a suction cleaning tool of this type so that a strong suction air flow can be generated with simple and easy handling for comprehensive, thorough cleaning even narrow, difficult to access spaces in the crevice nozzle.
  • the connection between the crevice nozzle and the inflow opening can be established by simply swiveling out the crevice nozzle, because a likewise pivotable air duct is provided which is connected to the crevice nozzle. Since the air duct completely or partially blocks the flow path from the brush nozzle to the inflow opening, the suction air flow through the crevice nozzle is sufficiently strong to detach and remove dirt and dust particles from narrow spaces and the like. Therefore, a simple, thorough cleaning is guaranteed without the tool having to be constructed in a complex manner.
  • crevice nozzle is in its inoperative position within the outer contour of the housing of the brush nozzle, so that it does not interfere with the suction of cushion surfaces by means of the brush nozzle.
  • the crevice nozzle is ready for use at any time due to the simple pivotability and can just as easily be pivoted back into its non-use position. Thanks to the simple handling, it can be easily adapted to the respective cleaning area, and it is possible to clean the entire upholstery area in an optimal, fatigue-free and thorough manner.
  • the suction cleaning tool is shown with two suction nozzles, namely with a brush nozzle 1 and a crevice nozzle 13.
  • the brush nozzle 1 has a housing with a lower housing part 1a and a cover part 33. From the rear of the housing 2, a connecting piece 3 protrudes outwards, which during operation of the tool is detachably connected to a connector 4 of a suction line 5 (FIG. 3) of a (not shown) suction cleaning unit.
  • a suction line 5 (FIG. 3) of a (not shown) suction cleaning unit.
  • In the front area of the lower housing part 1a there is a rotating, roller-shaped brush 7, which protrudes slightly downwards from a bottom-side suction opening 8 of the housing.
  • the brush 7 is mechanically driven and serves to support the cleaning effect.
  • the brush 7 is driven by a belt 11 by an air turbine 9, which is set in rotation by the suction air flow flowing into the housing via an inflow opening 16.
  • the suction air flow flowing in during the cleaning process flows after leaving a blading 10 of the air turbine 9 through the connecting piece 3, the connecting piece 4 and the suction line 5 to the suction unit.
  • the dirt and dust contained in the suction air flow is retained in a filter (not shown).
  • the crevice nozzle 13 which preferably has a flat, quadrangular cross section, is intended for cleaning narrow, difficult to access spaces between the individual upholstery parts (FIG. 3).
  • the crevice nozzle 13 is in its inoperative position within the contour of the housing 1a, 33 of the suction nozzle 1 in a receptacle 25.
  • the receptacle 25 is formed by a shoulder-shaped shoulder of an upper housing wall 12 of the housing cover part 33, so that the housing in its front, the brush 7 receiving area about the height of the crevice nozzle 13 is lower than in the adjoining area which contains the air turbine 9.
  • the crevice nozzle 13 is pivotally mounted about a pivot axis 14 perpendicular to the axis A of the connecting piece 3 (FIGS. 1, 2 and 4). Their length is approximately equal to the width of the housing 1a, 33 measured transversely to the axis A of the connecting piece 3.
  • the crevice nozzle 13 is provided with a downwardly projecting, preferably cylindrical plug-in extension 26 (FIGS. 1 and 5 ), which has a mouth opening 21 for the suction air flow which, when the crevice nozzle (FIG. 4) is pivoted out, flows in at the other end 27 of a suction opening 17.
  • the crevice nozzle 13 is pivotally mounted with the plug-in extension 26 in a cylindrical housing opening 32 of the housing cover part 33. It lies in both positions, that is to say in the use and the non-use position, with a projection 13b, which projects outwards beyond the plug-in projection 26, on a shoulder surface 33a of the housing cover part 33 (Fig. 6). With its projection 13b, the crevice nozzle 13 is securely supported on the housing 1a, 33 in its position of use.
  • the suction cleaning tool When cleaning upholstery surfaces, the suction cleaning tool is moved with the bottom 6 of the brush nozzle 1 over the upholstery surface to be cleaned, the brush 7 engaging in the textile upholstery cover and detaching the adhering dirt, which is then caught by the suction air flow and transported away.
  • the suction air flow here flows through the suction opening 8 via the brush 7, through the inflow opening 16 of the housing into the blading 10 of the air turbine and from there via the connecting piece 3 to the suction line 5.
  • the air turbine 9 is set in rotation and via the belt 11 roller-shaped brush driven.
  • the air duct 19 is an angled tube which has a short, preferably cylindrical tube section 28 with an opening 20 and a longer tube section 29.
  • the pivot axis 18 passes through the pipe section 28.
  • the other pipe section 29 extends transversely to the axis A of the connection piece 3. It preferably has a rectangular cross section and at its free end 30 a lateral opening 22, the cross section of which corresponds to the opening cross section of the inflow opening 16 of the housing 1a, 33 corresponds.
  • the mouth opening 22 comes to cover (FIG. 7) by pivoting the crevice nozzle 13 into the use position (FIGS. 2 and 4) and lies at a distance above the inflow opening 16 when the crevice nozzle 13 assumes its non-use position (FIG. 6 ).
  • the plane of the mouth opening 20 of the tube section 28 forms an acute angle with the plane of the mouth opening 21 of the crevice nozzle 13, which angle opens outward to the adjacent housing wall 31.
  • the other pipe section 29 is oriented slightly obliquely upwards from the housing base 6 in the direction of the crevice nozzle 13.
  • the air duct 19 is coupled to the crevice nozzle 13 via a lever 35 and a pin-slot guide. As a result, the air duct 19 is also pivoted when the crevice nozzle 13 is pivoted into the position of use, so that the opening 20 of the air duct opposite the opening 21 is aligned with the opening 21 (FIG. 7).
  • the crevice nozzle 13 is secured against inadvertent pivoting by a latching lock 31 (FIGS. 6 to 9), which is assigned to the lever 35, which connects the air duct 19 to the crevice nozzle 13.
  • the latching lock can take effect without manual actuation of a locking or releasing device. It consists of the resilient lever 35, a pin 37 with a cap 39 and two locking recesses 40 and 41, which are formed by axially extending grooves on the outer wall of the plug-in extension 26.
  • the lever 35 protrudes upward from a pin 18a forming the pivot axis 18, which is supported with its ends in the housing 1a, 33.
  • the bolt 18a lies in a cylindrical, short pipe section 44 which is fitted into the short upwardly projecting pipe section 28 of the air duct 19 and forms the mouth opening 20 together with this pipe section.
  • the pipe section 44 has a thickened, convexly outwardly curved edge section 45 with which the air channel slides in the housing opening 32 when pivoted.
  • the inside 47 'of the housing opening 32 is concave at its lower end 47, so that the edge section 45 fits into the end 47 in a form-fitting and airtight manner.
  • the upwardly projecting lever 35 forms a structural unit with the air duct 19.
  • the pin 37 attached to the upper lever end 36 passes through a slot 34 which is in a Partition 38 of the lower housing part 1a is provided (FIGS. 7, 8 and 9).
  • the pin 37 With its rounded free end designed as a crest 39, the pin 37 lies, depending on the pivoting position of the crevice nozzle, in one of the recesses 40 or 41 of the plug-in attachment 26.
  • the depressions are arranged on the peripheral surface of the plug-in attachment 26 at a functional distance from one another.
  • an unlock button 24 is additionally provided. When depressed, the button 24 hits the lever 35 with a lower wedge surface and deflects it out of its latched position.
  • the unlock button 24 protrudes above an upper housing wall 12 (Fig. 4) so that it can be easily operated.
