These are usually a microphone, amplifier, power source, hearing coil and handset, as well as controls for adjusting the volume, timbre and other settings that affect the operating data of the amplifier, such as automatic gain control (AVC) or tip clipping (PC).

- the hook 4 is continued at its free end with a tube 5, which opens into an ear olive 6, which can be inserted into the ear canal, so that the amplified audio signals reach the ear directly.
- a control wheel 8 On the rear side of the device 1, which is curved convexly outwards, there is a control wheel 8 for the volume above a closure flap 7 and a switch 9 below the flap 7.

- the actuators contained in the assembly 21 are accessible by opening the flap 7 into the position 7.1 indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 2, so that the actuators 22 to 25 can be adjusted on their actuators 27 to 30.
