Definitions

  • the invention relates to a rotary grinding device with a grinding plate mounted on an output shaft and a dust extraction device which has a dust collecting bell surrounding the grinding plate on the edge side and on the device side, forming an annular space, with a dust discharge channel connected to it, and a grinding surface of the grinding plate consisting of elastic, air-permeable material such as bristles protruding edge at the bottom of the dust collection bell.
  • a rotary grinder of the type mentioned is known for example from DE-OS 25 42 183 or US-PS 38 24 745.
  • air is drawn in from the outside through the air-permeable ring.
  • This suction flow detects the dust particles flying outwards from the underside of the grinding plate under the action of the centrifugal force and takes them to the dust discharge duct, from where they e.g. to a dust bag or into a line going to a central dust collector.
  • a disadvantage of the handling of these known rotary grinding devices is that grinding in corners and other hard-to-reach places is not possible because of the rim surrounding the grinding plate on all sides, as a result of which an unsanded edge strip remains on the surface to be ground.
  • an observation of the edge of the grinding plate is not possible, so that precise work is hardly possible.
  • the present invention is therefore based on the object of creating a rotary grinding device of the type mentioned at the outset which enables grinding even in hard-to-access and confined workplaces.
  • This object is achieved in that at least a partial ring of the ring is rotatably arranged around the grinding plate.
  • any edge area of the grinding plate that processes the respective workpiece can be exposed, so that the grinding plate can also reach corners and other hard-to-reach places.
  • the processing point can also be viewed.
  • the ring is divided into an inner partial ring and an outer partial ring of slightly different radii, the angular circumference of the two partial rings together being at least 360 °, and that each partial ring is displaceable in the circumferential direction in a slide guide concentric with the grinding plate relative to the other partial ring .
  • an arbitrarily long area of the grinding plate edge can be exposed at each circumferential point.
  • the dust collecting bell can have at least one viewing window which permits observation of the grinding plate edge, which can be formed by a flange ring arranged above the grinding plate edge.
  • the dust collecting bell has a clamping and clamping ring which can be plugged onto a device neck of the device housing and detachably fixed by means of quick-release means, an intermediate ring being arranged between the device neck and the clamping and clamping ring depending on the dimensions of the device neck.
  • the grinder can be quickly and easily switched from operating with dust extraction to operation without dust extraction by removing the dust collection bell.
  • the same dust collection bell can be attached to grinding devices of different types with a different device neck, since only an appropriately dimensioned intermediate ring has to be inserted for this.
  • Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of the invention, i. H. a grinding device 7, in the exemplary embodiment shown an angle grinder, with a dust extraction device 1 attached to it.
  • An output shaft 73 is guided out of the grinding device 7 at approximately a right angle to the longitudinal axis of the housing 71.
  • the output shaft 73 has a threaded mandrel 74 at its free end and is surrounded on the device side by a cylindrical device neck 72.
  • the dust extraction device 1 consists essentially of a dust collecting bell 2 which surrounds a grinding plate 5 screwed onto the threaded mandrel 74 of the device output shaft 73, and in the interior of which a radial fan 6 and a flow guide body 3 are arranged.
  • the radial fan 6 is in the upper part of the Bell 2 arranged, which is formed here from a cover part 21 and a side wall 22. Inwardly adjoins the side wall 22 of the flow guide body 3, which is connected in its outer edge region 33 to the side wall 22.
  • the flow guide body 3 is designed as an annular component and extends from the outside into the interior of the bell 2, where it ends at a distance from the upper part 53, 54 of the grinding plate 5.
  • An annular channel 82 is thus formed between the inside or underside 32 of the flow guide body 3 and the top side 53, 54 of the grinding plate 5, the upper end 82 ′ of which is designed as an axial inflow opening for the radial fan 6.
  • the fan 6 consists of a base plate 61, in which a central receptacle 63 for the output shaft 73 with wrench surfaces 73 'is inserted so that it cannot rotate.
  • the frictional connection of the fan 6 with the device output shaft 73 is carried out in the present case simply by clamping by means of the grinding plate 5 screwed onto the mandrel 74 by means of a fitting 54 provided with a suitable threaded bore Arrangement will be described with reference to the other figures.
  • the lower, d. H. that part of the bell 2 which surrounds the outer edge 52 of the grinding plate 5 is formed by two bristle rings 41 and 43 which can be displaced around the grinding plate 5 and each form approximately a semicircle in this exemplary embodiment.
  • the bristle rings 41 and 43 are each guided by means of brackets 42 and 44 in undercut grooves 34 and 35 in the outer part 33 of the flow guide body 3.
  • the bristle rings 41 and 43 serve to stop the dust particles 8 thrown outwards by centrifugal force from the grinding plate 5 or an abrasive disc 9 attached to its underside 51.
  • the upper part 21 of the bell 2 has a clamping or clamping ring 25 which concentrically surrounds the device neck 72 of the housing 71 of the grinding device 7.
  • the ring 25 By means of two screws 27, the ring 25 and thus the entire dust extraction device 1 can be quickly and easily fixed against the device neck 72.
  • an intermediate ring 26 is provided, which is designed to match the type of device. The intermediate ring 26 ensures a firm fit of the dust extraction device 1 and a correct position of the fan 6 within the bell 2.
  • the fan 6 has eight blades 62 which extend outwards and are bent backwards in the direction of rotation.
  • the central receiving piece 63 is arranged, which surrounds the device output shaft 73.
  • the dust collection channel 24 is connected to the dust discharge channel 23 via the connecting piece 23 '.
  • a dust discharge hose can also be connected to a stationary dust collection device.
  • the figure shows the courses of the bristle rings 41 and 43, which are concentric to one another and to the outside of the bell wall 22 in the form of two approximate semicircles.
  • a blocking device for blocking the rotation of the output shaft 73 of the rotary grinding device is shown as an example.
  • the blocking device shown consists of a pin 90 which is displaceable in its longitudinal direction and which is guided displaceably in its longitudinal direction in a guide bushing 92.
  • the pin 90 protrudes outward beyond the dust extraction bell and can be moved into the range of movement of the wings 62 by external pressure. Since the fan 6 is connected to the output shaft 73 in a rotationally secure manner with the blades 62, further rotation of the output shaft 73 is prevented.
  • the pin 90 has two locking troughs 93 which, in conjunction with locking lugs in the sleeve 92, prevent the blocking device from moving automatically or accidentally.
  • a further fuse can be provided, for example, so that the blocking device can be actuated only when the drive motor of the rotary grinding device is at a standstill or is designed such that a combined actuation of two elements is required.
  • the fan is shown again in a view of the wing side.
  • This figure clearly shows the shape of the wings 62 and their manner of attachment by means of base strips on the base plate 61.
  • the central receptacle 63 with its opening 64 for the output shaft 73 of the device 7 can again be seen.
  • the fan can also be equipped with more or fewer blades.
  • Both plastic and metal can be used as the material for the dust extraction device, which depends on the expected stress and the desired service life of the parts of the device.
  • parts of the device can also be produced in one piece as die-cast parts made of metal or as injection-molded parts made of plastic and not - as shown in the exemplary embodiment - as components composed of individual components screwed together.
  • FIG. 4 shows the invention in a second exemplary embodiment, large parts of FIG. 4 corresponding to FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 4 shows the invention in a second exemplary embodiment, large parts of FIG. 4 corresponding to FIG. 1.
  • the differences between the exemplary embodiments of the invention shown in FIGS. 1 and 4 relate on the one hand to the arrangement of the fan 6 and on the other hand to the design of the bristle ring 4.
  • the fan 6 is arranged on the upper side 53 of the grinding plate 5 in the annular channel 82.
  • the grinding plate 5 is provided on its upper side 53 with an annular groove 55 which runs concentrically to its axis of rotation and into which a support ring 61 'carrying several ventilation blades 62' is inserted in a positive and non-positive manner.
  • a support ring 61 'carrying several ventilation blades 62' is inserted in a positive and non-positive manner.
  • a further difference between the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4 and the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1 consists in the configuration of the bristle ring 4, which here is formed from two concentric partial rings 41 and 43 which run completely around the grinding plate 5.
  • the two partial rings 41 and 43 alternately have sections of greater and shorter length, with a section of greater length of one ring opposite a section of shorter length of the other ring.
  • the ring 4 can also be made of a material other than bristles, such as. B. elastic foam or plastic.
  • FIG. 5 A third and last exemplary embodiment of the invention is finally shown in FIG. 5.
  • a viewing window 14 is arranged in the dust extraction bell 2 in a position allowing observation of the edge 52 of the grinding plate 5.
  • the flow guide body 3, a flange ring 17 forming the transparent window 14 and the brackets 42 and 44 of the bristle rings 41 and 43 are advantageously designed as screw rings concentric with one another and with the axis of rotation of the grinding plate 5.
  • the flange ring 17 is preferably made of plexiglass or acrylic glass and arranged in the area above the edge 52 of the grinding plate 5. It is detachably connected to the flow guide body 3 by means of a screw thread 19.
  • the holder 44 of the inner bristle ring 43 is in turn screwed onto the flange ring 17 on the outside by means of a screw thread 18 and the holder 42 of the outer bristle ring 41 is screwed onto the holder 44 on the outside by means of a screw thread 16, ie the holders 44 and 42 are each designed as screw rings 16 and 15.
  • FIG. 5 Another feature of the invention that can be seen in FIG. 5 is the arrangement of dust extraction channels 56 known per se and running through the grinding plate 5 and the abrasive disc 50 placed on its underside 51. While these channels 56 in the prior art in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the Grinding plates 5 run, they are executed here obliquely according to the present invention.
  • the inclination of the channels 56 is chosen so that the lower ends 57 are advanced relative to the upper ends 58 when viewed in the direction of rotation.
  • the upper ends 58 of the channels 56 open into the intermediate space 82 between the grinding plate 5 and the flow guide body 3. This ensures that the grinding plate 5 also produces a certain ventilation effect, whereby the efficiency of the dust extraction can be further improved.
  • FIGS. 1 to 4 For the other reference numbers appearing in FIG. 5, reference is made to the description of the preceding FIGS. 1 to 4.
