Definitions
- the invention relates to a closure member for the longitudinal edge of a roof covering.
- the roof covering of a sloping roof of a modern building is usually built on a roof covering plate made of chipboard on the underside, an insulating layer lying on the plate and a plurality of spaced roof battens on which the horizontally extending tile battens are fastened. It is known to protect the longitudinal edge of the roof cover against the weather by means of a cover plate. Such a cover plate is necessary above all to prevent the chipboard from swelling under the influence of moisture blown against it. In practice, comb-shaped bird protection is used to prevent birds from entering the space between the roof covering and the roof tiles. Usually the cover plate as well as the bird protection are attached to the lowest wooden brick slat.
- the invention has for its object to provide a closure member of the type mentioned, which can be attached to a wooden tile slat with normal dimensions, which can be manufactured cheaply, under all circumstances ensures good ventilation of the space between the roof covering and the roof tiles, by means of a comb-shaped Bird protection prevents the penetration of birds into the space between the roof covering and the roof tiles and protects the teeth of the bird protection from fatigue fracture.
- the closure element according to the invention is characterized in that a corrugated sheet is formed from a piece of plastic together with a comb-shaped bird protection part to prevent birds from penetrating into the space between the roof covering and the roof tiles, the corrugated sheet and the bird protection part made of the same piece of plastic brick slat attachments are arranged, which protect the bird protection part against fatigue fracture of the teeth of the comb - and that the brick slat attachments have locally offset fastening parts that are suitable for resting on a wooden slat.
- connection point between the teeth of the bird protection part is protected from direct contact with the bottom row of bricks by the brick slats.
- the raised fastening parts ensure a stiff fastening possibility on the wooden brick slat.
- the attachments are preferably provided with stiffening ribs which leave a relatively large load on the tile slat attachment.
- the corrugated sheet has transverse ribs which are arranged such that one rib always interacts with a roof batten, so that air can flow through the spaces between the transverse ribs.
- the complete closure members according to the invention can e.g. be manufactured in lengths of 1 meter.
- the end edges of the end member are provided with connecting means for the mutual attachment of the overlapping end edges of adjacent end members, which connecting members consist of pins with a thickened head on one end edge and slots with an expanded section on the other end edge.
- the roof covering shown in FIG. 1 contains a cover plate 1 made of a chipboard, an insulating layer 2 and a plurality of roof battens 3 arranged at a distance from one another. Horizontal tile battens 4 are fastened on these battens 3, on which the roof tiles are supported with a projecting edge.
- the roof covering is supported by a wall plate 6 on the upper edge of a hollow wall 7.
- closure member made according to the invention from a piece of plastic, which is shown in detail in FIGS. 2 and 3.
- the closure member contains a corrugated sheet 8, a comb-shaped bird protection 9 and a bridge 10 arranged between the corrugated sheet 8 and the bird protection 9 .
- the bottom row of the bottom row of roof tiles 5 is supported on the slatted bricks 11 of the bridges 10, the points at which the bird protection 9 is fastened to the closure member being relieved. If the roof tiles were supported at this fixed point on the teeth, the teeth would break off quickly due to fatigue. It goes without saying that the comb-shaped bird protection part 9 closes the access for birds into the space between the roof covering and the roof tiles and nevertheless allows ventilation.
- the fastening parts 12 enable rigid fastening to a normal brick slat 4.
- the corrugated plate 8 is wave-shaped and protects the longitudinal edge of the roof cover against moisture, which is blown against the roof by the wind. In the position shown in Figure 1, the corrugated sheet 8 is bent to the longitudinal edge of the roof covering, one or more of the transverse ribs 15 resting on the tile slats 3, with good ventilation being ensured.
- corrugated plate 8 can also assume a less inwardly bent position.
- the described closure organs can be in lengths of e.g. 1 meter in an injection mold from a piece of plastic.
- Different end members can be attached to one another by their end edges, in that one end edge is provided with slots 16 with a widespread part, the other end edge contains pins 18 with thickened heads, which are inserted into the slots 17 of the overlapping end edge of an adjacent end member can be.
- an organ that can be produced from a piece of plastic at a low cost can be attached to a wooden brick slat with normal dimensions, the end member protecting the longitudinal edge of the roof covering against the blowing in of moisture - and comb-in protection by a bird prevented by birds between the roof covering and roof tiles, the connection point of the teeth of the bird protection part being protected from fatigue breakage by the brick slats attachments.
Abstract
