Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for coating metallic and non-metallic surfaces of a workpiece using a spray gun for the thermal application of the surface layers.
- Thermal spraying is a process for the surface coating of metallic and non-metallic workpieces.
- a flame spray gun e.g. is described in the leaflets DVS 2307,2301.
- Fuel gas usually acetylene, which cannot be compressed above 1.5 bar
- ignition gas usually hydrogen
- oxygen and powder are combined in a certain mixing ratio, whereby a flame jet is formed, and applied to a previously cleaned and dried surface.
- the spray material can consist of metallic and non-metallic materials as described in DIN draft 32529 and DIN regulations 55928 and 8566, part 2.
- the thermal energy required for the melting of the coating material is generated autogenously or electrically.
- thermal spraying has only been used under normal atmospheric conditions.
- the area of application is also the generation of thermally sprayed surfaces in shipbuilding and in offshore constructions as corrosion protection in the surface area.
- Such an application would be impossible in the known flame spraying devices, since no flame with sufficient efficiency could develop under such conditions.
- the object is to form a device of the EC type such r that a thermal coating of metallic and non-metallic surfaces with metallic and non-metallic layers in both dry may also be carried out in hyperbaric or wet conditions, with or without elevated ambient pressure.
- the device provided for the coating is accordingly designed according to the invention in such a way that both the spraying and atomizing pressure can be adapted in accordance with the prevailing ambient pressure. It is equipped with a tool that allows drying, preheating and coating of the surfaces alternately without interrupting the work process. Through the additional introduction of a gas jet, the flame jet can be in contact with the um be protected against water and moisture, which would automatically cause an extinguishing process.
- the device is also designed so that a thermal post-compaction can be carried out after the coating process. There are no technical difficulties to automate the coating process.
- the method used according to the invention makes it possible to increase the service life of structures and structures by means of permanent corrosion protection and to reduce mechanical wear.
- a flame spray gun with three nozzles and a spray rate of 24 kg / h is shown in section.
- the construction of the flame spray gun 29 with a nozzle is already known from the various DIN regulations. The design for a multi-nozzle system does not cause any technical problems.
- the flame spray gun 29 is supplied laterally via feed lines 1-3 fuel gas, ignition gas and oxygen. Powder for the various surface coatings of the workpiece 9 is added from above into the mixing chamber (not shown) via the feed line 4. Both parts 10 and 11, which are arranged at right angles to one another, are also fed via a cooling chamber with the feed and discharge lines 5 and 6 Water cooled.
- the jacket pipes are in particular Burning nozzles 12 (one in section, the others drawn behind it; all three lying on a circle) cooled from the outside, the cooling water 5 entering the cylinder chamber 15 with the jacket pipes via a double-cylindrical cooling pipe 13 with correspondingly arranged inlet openings 14 and then via the discharge pipe 6 exits.
- the outlet openings 16 of the Brersrsdüsen 12 are bordered and held by an end plate 17.
- the burning nozzles 12 can be on a circle, area-wide or otherwise, e.g. staggered, over the end plate 17 depending on the requirement (surface coating, different mixtures, different tasks, such as also the introduction of dry air).
- an attachment 19 in the form of a cup-shaped protective nozzle with an expanding diameter is provided. It is attached to the cylindrical part 11 of the spray gun by means of retaining rings 20, 21.
- the end plate 17 itself still holds the ignition device 22 for the individual nozzles 12, which each consist of two ignition wires, similar to the ignition of an oil burner.
- the electrical supply of the ignition wires takes place via connection 7; the insulation takes place in the end plate 17.
- the spray jets 18 expand toward the workpiece 9.
- the length of the protection nozzle 19 (Attachment) or the distance between the nozzle opening 16 and the surface of the workpiece 9 can be designed to be variable depending on the requirements by inserting intermediate rings or a telescopic configuration or the like of the protective nozzle jacket.
- a circumferential gap 28 between the front edge 24 and the workpiece 9 is produced by means of spacer rollers 25 which are distributed over the circumference. It is used to provide gases and vapors, including water vapor, for use in a hyperbaric atmosphere or under water, an opening (gap 28) for the exit.
- the gap width and design of this outlet opening depend on the conditions that exist during coating. So it would be quite possible to provide the lower edge of the protective nozzle with a flexible sleeve, a brush ring or a multi-slot ring. This depends on the surface quality of the workpiece 9.
- At least one supply 8 to the interior 26 is provided, through which compressed air can be blown in, for example. It also serves to eliminate water or moisture in the top 19 continuously, to prevent the entry of water or the like or to dry the surface of the workpiece 9.
- the compressed air enters the interior 26 radially.
- the supply lines 8 (or only one) can also be oriented at an angle to the axis of symmetry 27 in the direction of the gap 28 or in such a way that the compressed gas enters the interior 26 tangentially.

Abstract
