Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method and a transport device according to the preamble of claims 1 and 2.
  • a device for the continuous feeding of single sheets from a supply stack to the platen of a typewriter is known.
  • the platen roller is connected via a belt drive to a take-off roller which frictionally abuts against the supply stack.
  • the translation is chosen so that the take-off roller is driven at a lower peripheral speed than the platen roller.
  • An overrunning clutch is arranged between the belt drive and the take-off roller so that the sheet gripped by the platen roller can be pulled away under the take-off roller at a higher speed.
  • the difference in the peripheral speeds separates the individual sheets.
  • the angle of rotation traveled by the platen until the leading edge of the next sheet is detected depends on the sheet length of the previous sheet.
  • the inaccuracies in the feed are due to the different sheet lengths and the slip, so that line-precise printing without manual adjustment is not possible.
  • the device described is therefore only suitable for typewriters in which each new sheet is registered by hand.
  • a transport device suitable for this is known from DE-OS 2854695.
  • a pair of transport rollers is driven by the platen roller via a switchable clutch. From the pair of transport rollers, the take-off rollers are also driven at a lower speed via an overrunning clutch.
  • a light barrier is arranged between the pair of transport rollers and the platen roller. Because the take-off rollers are driven at a lower peripheral speed than the transport rollers and the platen roller, there is a gap between the sheets that have been peeled off one after the other up to the light barrier.
  • the object to be achieved by the invention is to provide an automatic single sheet feed suitable for office machines, which is particularly simple, reliable and precise and whose movement can be derived from the platen roller, so that a separate drive motor for the sheet feed is unnecessary.
  • This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claims 1 and 2.
  • the transport device can be placed and removed as a removable unit on an office machine, in particular on a typewriter 1.
  • a gear 3 sits on the shaft 4 of the platen roller 2 and is connected to the platen roller 2 of the automatic typewriter 1 in a rotationally fixed manner.
  • This gearwheel 3 engages in a gearwheel 10 associated with the transport device and thereby effects a drive connection between the movement of the platen roller 2 and the drive movement of the transport device.
  • the shaft 4 of the platen roller 2 is encompassed on both sides by a hook-shaped locking lever 5, so that a detachable connection is formed between the transport device designed as a separable structural unit and the automatic typewriter 1 or the like. To release this connection, an operating rod 7 is moved by hand.
  • This actuating rod 7 is movably connected to the locking lever 5 via a joint 75.
  • a pin 74 engaging in a longitudinal slot is provided for guiding the actuating rod 7.
  • the transport device contains a side plate 8 at both ends, which extend essentially in the vertical direction and are connected to one another by at least one rod-shaped strut 9. At least one rocker 13 sits on the strut 9 and serves to receive the supply stack 19 of the sheets 11 to be labeled or printed.
  • each of these rockers 13 there are two such rockers 13 which can be pivoted about the strut 9 as an axis of rotation and can be displaced relative to one another to accommodate sheets 11 of different widths.
  • Each of these rockers 13 includes a flat bottom 37 and a vertical wall 39 and is pressed upwards by a spring 53.
  • Each of these take-off rollers 15 is provided with an overrunning clutch 17 according to FIG. 5, in the sense that these take-off rollers 15 can be driven positively in one direction of rotation - which corresponds to the paper feed direction C -, while the drive shaft 40 of these take-off rollers is stopped 15 these can rotate freely on the top sheet 11 removed.
  • FIG. 1 An embodiment of such an overrunning clutch 17 is shown in FIG. 1, together with a take-off roller 15.
  • clamping rollers 60 or clamping balls each of which is guided in a curved path 64 of the outer ring 56.
  • Spring-loaded pressure pins 62 press these pinch rollers 60 towards the narrower part of the cam track 64.
  • the take-off roller 15 can still rotate as a freewheel in the direction of the arrow G, since the pinch rollers 60 are located in the enlarged part of the curved tracks 64 and thereby the non-positive connection between the outer ring 56 and the inner ring 58 is interrupted.
  • the gearwheel 10, which engages in the gearwheel 3 of the platen roller 2, is rigidly connected to a first pulley 12.
  • a first endless toothed belt 14 engages in this pulley 12 and is guided over a deflection roller 18 and a tensioning roller 16 over a second pulley 20.
  • a third, smaller pulley 22 seated on an axis 21 is rigidly connected to this second pulley 20 and is looped around by a second endless toothed belt 26.
  • This second toothed belt 26 leads to a fourth pulley 24, which is seated on a horizontal axis 29.
  • a gear wheel 28 is connected to this fourth pulley 24, the toothed ring of which extends only over part of a full circumference, preferably approximately approximately half the circumference.
  • a cam disk 32 is rigidly attached to this fourth pulley 24.
  • This cam disk 32 interacts with a locking disk 34.
  • the locking disk 34 contains one or more, in the present case three arcuate recesses, the radius of which corresponds to that of the cam disk 32.
  • a pinion 38 is rigidly connected to the locking disk 34 and sits on the same axis of rotation 40 as the take-off rollers 15. This axis of rotation 40, the pinion 38 and the locking disk 34 are rigidly connected to one another.
  • the pinion 38 is designed such that it comes into and out of engagement with the ring gear 28 after a predetermined, constant angle of rotation.
  • the segment ring gear 28 together with the pinion 38, the cam 32 and the locking disk 34 forms a gear 31 with intermittent movement, in the sense that with a continuous rotation of the fourth pulley 24, the pinion 38 occurs intermittently.
  • this pinion 38 is not in one with the ring gear of the gear 28 is gripped, that is not rotated, there is a positive blocking of this pinion 38 by the arcuate recesses 36 of the locking disk 34 abutting against the larger-diameter part of the cam disk 32.
  • the fourth pulley 24 rotates due to a movement of the toothed belt 26 in the direction of rotation indicated in the direction of arrow E, this does not initially cause the pinion 38 to rotate, starting from the position shown in FIG.
  • the pinion 38 When the fourth pulley 24 continues to rotate, the pinion 38 thus executes a certain number of revolutions, which is determined by the length of the ring gear 28. After that, the locking disk 34 again reaches the area 42 of the cam disk 32 with the larger radius, whereupon the pinion 38 no longer rotates, since it has reached the area of the toothless part 30. The locking disk 34 again causes the pinion 38 to be stopped in a precisely predetermined position and to remain in this position while the cam disk 32 continues to rotate. The process described above is then repeated.
  • the transmission ratio is also selected so that the angular speed of the platen roller 2 corresponds as closely as possible to the angular speed of the draw-off roller 15, so that a synchronous movement takes place when the pinion 38 is in engagement with the ring gear 28 and the paper feed speed A is the peripheral speed corresponds to the platen roller 2.
  • a one-way clutch 49 according to FIG. 4 is present between the platen roller 2 and the gear 31 with intermittent movement.
  • This one-way or driver clutch 49 is located between the second and third pulleys 20, 22.
  • the second pulley 20 is provided with an axially or radially projecting cam 46 or pin, against which a driver projection 52 radially projecting from a driver disk 50 loosely rests.
  • the drive pulley 50 is connected to the third pulley 22.
  • the second pulley 20 is provided with a cylindrical recess 48, into which the driving pulley 50 projects.
  • the driver lug 52 is carried along by the cam 46, so that the two pulleys 20, 22 rotate at the same speed.
  • the pulley 22 stops and with it the motion-suspending gear 31 and the take-off rollers 15. Since a reverse rotation of the platen roller 2 usually only detects a few lines, for example when writing chemical or mathematical formulas, it suffices that the one-way clutch only prevents the reverse rotation of the third pulley 22 by just a single revolution.
  • the one-way clutch 49 could also be arranged between other rotational transmission elements, for example between the gearwheel 10 and the first pulley 12. Furthermore, this one-way clutch 49 could also be designed as a claw clutch with great play between the intermeshing claws.
  • All pulleys 12, 20, 22, 24 are provided with recesses or teeth for slip-free transmission of the movements by the toothed belts 14, 26.
  • This transport device On the two rockers 13 there is a stack of 19 individual sheets 11. The front edge of the stack 19 lies against a stop 43 which merges into an angled tab 47 at the top. Close to the front edge of the uppermost sheet 11 are the two take-off rollers 15 seated on the shaft 40. When the platen roller 2 rotates, this movement is transmitted to the shaft 40 and thus to the take-off rollers 15, provided that in the gear 31 the pinion 38 is in engagement with the ring gear of the gear 28.
  • the drive motor of the platen roller 2 is stopped.
  • the sheet can subsequently be labeled or printed in the usual manner known per se and transported further line by line.
  • the pull-off rollers 15, which are no longer driven, only move as long as they rest on the top sheet which has been pulled away, after which they stand still.
  • the finished sheet 11 is then placed on the tray holder 51.
  • the ring gear 28 again engages with the pinion 38 and causes the shaft 40 and thus the take-off rollers 15 to rotate again, whereby a next sheet 11 is conveyed.
  • the transmission ratio between the gear 3 connected to the toothed roller 2 and the fourth pulley 24 is selected such that the pinion 38 only begins to rotate when the longest sheet 11 intended for processing has got under the take-off rollers 15, so that between the first transported sheet 11 and a subsequent, second transported sheet 11 there is a gap. Since an exact sequential relationship between the platen roller 2 and the take-off rollers 15 is maintained, inaccuracies cannot add up. This ensures that the same initial conditions prevail for each newly drawn sheet 11. In this way, it is possible to get by without the photocell scanning the sheet 11, since precisely defined conditions are maintained between the movement of the platen roller 2 and the sheet transport by a slip-free positive drive between the platen roller 2 and gear 31 and the gear 31 also works inevitably.
  • the sheet transporter is controlled exclusively by the rotary movement of the platen roller 2.
  • the control device of the platen roller drive motor is to be designed in such a way that a predetermined number of turning steps have to be carried out until a next sheet 11 to be labeled again reaches the exact same starting position.
  • the rotary movement of the platen roller 2 associated with a full sequence - that is, when the entire process is repeated - thus corresponds to a sheet feed that is larger than the longest sheet 11 to be processed.
