Definitions
- Multipurpose device mis from exchangeable tool
- the invention relates to a Mehrz purpose bones with interchangeable tools, especially for dan ice and mountain sports, with a handle and an attached, two tools carrying head.
- a multi-purpose device of the type mentioned is described for example in US-A-42 87 623. It is for the most varied of applications, particularly in rescue operations, and shows a tool head with two tools, one of which, an ax, is an integral part of the tool head, while the second can be selected from a wide range of tools and inserted on the tool head.
- Special devices such as ice axes, ice hammers and ice axes have been developed for mountaineers and ice walkers, where different performances are used for different conditions. For example, a number of different shapes are known for the ice ax for both the pick egg shovel and the pick shovel, each of which is intended for special terrain.
- the invention has now set itself the task of eliminating the disadvantages described and creating a multi-purpose device, in particular for mountain and ice sports, on which the greatest possible number of different pairs of tools can be provided.
- the tool head expands a central part with a sleeve into which a tool is inserted from both sides, and that both tools have connecting sections protruding into the sleeve, which directly engage in one another, are preferably screwed together.
- the inventive design of the multipurpose device enables the mountaineer to take tools according to the expected terrain conditions and to exchange each one for another if necessary, so that several different tool combinations are possible. This reduces the total weight to a minimum.
- each tool is supported on the sleeve, but is only indirectly attached to it.
- a connecting section of at least one tool has a conical outer surface and the associated tap area.
- the sleeve has a conical inner surface.
- At least one rotation lock is formed between the tools connected to one another and the sleeve.
- Such a rotation lock can, for example, have two coaxial locking rings which hold one another in a rotationally fixed manner by interlocking corrugations and which are arranged on the connecting section of one of the tools and at least one of which is axially resilient, one of the locking rings on the sleeve and the other on the tool is held firmly against shrinkage.
- the preferred screwing of the two tools requires furthermore also a special training of certain tools, for example a pick shovel, the cutting edge of which is supposed to take a certain position relative to the tool handle. Since, due to the screwing, the required position cannot be reached internally, he is also provided, according to the invention, that the pick shovel is formed by a piece of pipe which widens conically towards the free end and has a brohened wall
- FIG. 1 shows the head of the multi-purpose tool according to the invention in the incision
- FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the central part of the tool pin
- FIGS. 3 and 4 show a locking washer in top view and in section
- FIGS. 5 to 8 show different interchangeable tools.
- a multi-purpose tool according to the invention - an ice ax - has a handle 1 and a tool head 2 according to FIG. 3, which are connected to one another in a conventional manner.
- the tool head 2 is composed of the middle part 3 with the handle attachment and two tools 14, 15, which are interchangeable with other tools.
- the central part 3 as can be seen more clearly from FIG. 2, has a sleeve 4 with a conical inner surface 8, which on the tapered side merges into an annular extension 5, into which four bores 6 open radially.
- the tools 14, 35 which are inserted into the sleeve 4 are connected directly to one another in the interior of the sleeve 4.
- the tool 14 has, as a connecting portion 11, an insertion pin, the conical outer surface 25 of which is connected to the conical inner surface 8 the sleeve 4 is adapted.
- the taper of the surfaces 8, 25 is selected so that they can be easily detached from one another even after heavy loading of the tool 14.
- the conical insertion pin is provided with a threaded bore 12.
- two lugs 16 are formed on the tool 34, which engage in the grooves 7 of the sleeve 4 and thus hold the tool 14 in the sleeve 4 in a torsion-proof manner.
- a conventional hole 17 in the tool 14 can also serve to facilitate the release of the tool.
- 7 and 8 show two examples of interchangeable tools, namely special designs of pimples, which differ in the angle and the toothing. 8 has a special design of the tip, which is designed as a groove 24, the two side cheeks of which bear the toothing. This pick ax is particularly suitable for water-bearing ice, since the drainage channel 24 creates an outflow channel.
- the tools 35 which are inserted into the second side of the sleeve 4, have a threaded pin as the connecting section 13, which can be screwed into the threaded bore 12 of the connecting section 11 of the other tool 14.
- 5 and 6 show examples of such tools 15, namely a hammer 20 and a pick shovel 21.
- the tools 15 also have a hole 18 which is used, among other things, to loosen or tighten the tool.
- the pimple blade 21 according to FIG. 6 is formed by a tube piece that widens towards the free ends and ends in a circumferential cutting edge 26. As a result, the pick ax 21 can be used regardless of its rotational position.
- the sleeve 4 has an annular extension 5 into which radial bores 6 open.
- the extension 5 serves to receive a rubber ring 9 or the like.
- the retaining rings 10 are radially corrugated and have bent tabs 19, the ends of which, after insertion, expand tion 5 in the holes 6 (see dashed line in Fig. 4).
- annular groove 27 corresponding to the widening 5 with radial bores 28 is also provided on the mounting side of each tool 35, into which a rubber ring 9 or the like and the second locking ring 10 are also inserted and secured against rotation by bending the tabs 19.
- the locking rings 10 projecting with their wave crests over the end faces of the sleeve 4 and the tool 15 come into contact with one another.
- the further rotation of the tool 15 can each lock a wave crest of a circlip 10 in the trough of the other circlip 10 continuously, the rubber rings 9 each serving as an axially acting Fe deriata that allow the circlips 10 to dodge slightly.
- the tools 15 connected in this manner in a rotationally secure manner to the sleeve 4 cannot loosen automatically during use, but can only be unscrewed deliberately, for which purpose the tools 14, 15 are suitable.
- the tools 15 have holes 18 that are at least large enough that the connecting section 13 of the tool to be exchanged can be used for loosening.
- the tip sections of the pick ax 22, 23 are also suitable for this purpose.
- the multi-purpose device according to the invention offers the advantage, in particular for the mountaineer, of having a larger number of special tools available for the different areas of application and operating conditions, and of being able to use them in the best possible combination without the disadvantages of a significant increase in luggage weight and the larger space requirement to have to take.
