Definitions
- the invention relates to a receiving antenna for direct satellite reception, with a pivotable antenna construction with an antenna reflector, in particular parabolic shape.
- So-called television broadcasting satellites or direct television satellites can be used for the direct, direct supply of home receivers with television and radio broadcasting programs, which are illuminated by a ground transmitter and distribute the received program directly to the television subscribers.
- These satellites are placed in a certain equatorial orbit and move synchronously with the Earth's revolution.
- a television broadcasting satellite thus appears to come to rest in a "fixed", so-called geostationary position, i.e. it stands almost still in relation to a point on the earth's surface.
- a satellite that is stationary with respect to the earth allows the use of fixedly aligned and sharply focused antennas on the receiving side, which do not need to be tracked.
- the receiving antennas In the case of direct satellite reception, the receiving antennas must be aligned with the satellite positioned in the 0rbit, the position of which is characterized by its elevation and azimuth for the various reception locations. There is therefore the task of aligning the receiving antenna according to the local position data of the satellite. Only then can the fine adjustment be carried out on the basis of the received electrical signals (maximum reception voltage). An exclusive Adjustment based on the received signals would be the same as looking for the pin in the haystack due to the bundling sharpness of the antennas.
- the invention is based on the object of indicating a solution which enables the installer of a reception antenna for direct satellite reception intended for domestic use in a simple manner to roughly align the position of the reception antenna with a direct satellite.
- the electrical axis and thus the main direction of the receiving lobe are thus identified in a manner that is easily recognizable, so that the antenna fitter can carry out the rough alignment of the antenna on the direct satellites without using any lengthy, cumbersome direction finding or measuring methods.
- the coarse alignment of the antenna is therefore the installer even in a difficult location, e.g. on a house roof, easily possible.
- the fixed reference between the reference marking and the electrical axis of the antenna is advantageously created by means of a direction finding process in the manufacture and electrical testing of the antenna. This gives the installer of the antenna the factory-provided identification of the electrical axis for mounting.
- the reference marking is expediently provided on the antenna reflector.
- the reference marking can be formed in a simple manner in that it is formed with an edge which is parallel to the electrical axis of the antenna and extends in the direction of the electrical axis. Such an edge is also advantageous with regard to a possible coupling of an alignment device for setting the antenna in azimuth and elevation.
- the reference marking has two interconnected parts, one of which is mounted on the antenna structure and the second part is pivotable on the first part and is pivotable about an axis perpendicular to the first axis.
- an adjustable contact surface for an alignment device can be formed by the second part.
- a particularly simple embodiment of such a reference marking is obtained if the two parts consist of flat, adjacent plates which each have strips bent at right angles on longitudinal sides which are adjacent to one another. It is expedient if the bar of the second plate forms the reference mark and at the same time serves to receive an adjusting screw for the vertical pivoting of the second plate.
- the antenna When installing a receiving antenna for direct satellite reception by the installer, the antenna must not only be set roughly, but also in elevation and azimuth to the orbit position of the desired satellite transmitter.
- a further development of the invention is therefore based on the object of demonstrating a solution with which the fitter of a reception antenna for satellite di intended for domestic use direct reception is able to align the position of the receiving antenna as precisely as possible with a direct satellite.
- This object is achieved in a further development of the receiving antenna according to the invention characterized in that a device for adjusting the antenna in elevation and azimuth is provided, and that this device is provided with a contact edge or surface, which with the g Referenzmarkierun be coupled.
- the fitter can use the setting device to align the position of the antenna precisely with the satellite.
- the fitter is also able to align the antenna on the direct satellites in azimuth and elevation without using any complex, lengthy measuring methods.
- the antenna can therefore be precisely aligned even in a difficult location.
- These adjustment means may permanently or temporarily - be continuously coupled to the reference marking and is then readily correct position coupled with respect to the electrical axis of the antenna on the antenna structure.
- a receiving antenna according to the invention with an adjusting device, it is formed in two mutually perpendicular planes, each with an angular degree scale, the angular degree scale for the elevation adjustment in a fixed reference to the horizontal and the angular degree scale for the azimuth adjustment in a fixed reference to the north-south direction.
- the setting device in the plane in which the angular degree scale is provided for the azimuth adjustment is provided with a this scale related compass and a device for adjusting the horizontal is provided.
- This device expediently consists of a dragonfly.
- Such a setting device is easy to use by the installer and works with sufficient accuracy.
- the contact edge of the setting device is brought into fixed relation to the horizontal (dragonfly) by means of the angular degree scale for the elevation setting and in fixed relation to the north-south direction (compass needle) by means of the angular degree scale for the azimuth setting.
- the angle degree scale is expediently set before the antenna is installed, taking into account the data for elevation and azimuth valid for the receiving location. It is therefore a great relief if the elevation of the antenna can be set very precisely and its azimuth can be preset to a few angular degrees.
- the installer who often works in an exposed position, then only has to bring the level to the middle position and the compass needle in the north-south direction when aligning the antenna. These operations can be carried out with one hand.
- the final finding of the satellite position is then achieved by evaluating the recorded electrical signals by continuously changing the azimuth within a few angular degrees. Ultimately, the fine adjustment follows on the basis of the recorded electrical signals.
- any misdirections of the compass needle for example, can ne as a result of nearby iron parts of the antennas', of the device areLeeicht before use.
- the antenna reflector 1 of the pivotable antenna construction is formed on its outer surface, here in the region of its edge, with a reference marking 2, which is in fixed relation to the electrical axis A1 of the antenna.
- This reference marking 2 is designed as an edge 11 which is directed parallel to the electrical axis A1 and runs in the direction of the electrical axis and which is provided on an arrangement consisting of two interconnected parts 3 and 4. The detailed structure of this arrangement is shown in FIG. 2.
- the two interconnected parts 3 and 4 consist of two flat, rectangular plates of different sizes, the rear plate 3 being somewhat larger than the front plate 4 lying against it
- Plate 3 is formed on one side with a pivot axis / and, as can be seen in FIG. 1, is thus mounted on the antenna reflector 1 in such a way that the plates 3 and 4 extend with their longitudinal direction in the direction of the electrical axis A1 of the antenna.
- the plate 3 is formed on the side of the plate 4 with an elongated hole 6 extending parallel to the long plate sides and a set screw 7 provided with a helical spring for pivoting the plate arrangement about the axis of rotation 5.
- this is provided with a strip 8 bent at right angles to the plate plane, which is formed in the region of the end facing away from the pivot axis 5 with an elongated hole 9 extending in the plate longitudinal direction for a further set screw 10 for vertically pivoting the second plate 4.
- This adjusting screw 10 which is also provided with a helical spring, is screwed into a strip 11 of the front plate 4 which is parallel to the strip of the rear plate 3, the strip 11 being bent at a right angle to the plate surface on an adjacent longitudinal side of the plate 4 which is parallel to the upper longitudinal side of the plate 3 .
- the corner facing away from the set screw 10 near the pivot axis 5 of the rear plate.
- the front plate 4 is fixedly connected to the rear plate 3 by means of a bolt 12 such that the plate 4 can be pivoted against the plate 3 about the axis of rotation 12 formed by the bolt and perpendicular to the pivot axis 5.
- the front plate 4 is also formed in the manner shown with an elongated hole 13 and a guide and locking screw 14 on the corner diametrically opposite the axis of rotation 12.
- the strip 11 of the front plate 4 forms the edge which runs parallel to the electrical axis A1 of the antenna and in the direction of this axis.
- the strip 11 thus represents the reference marking.
- This is suitably also formed with the plate 4 with an adjustable contact surface which an alignment device for setting the antenna in azimuth and elevation can be picked up and attached.
- the mounting of the plate arrangement on the antenna reflector 1 and the position of the plate 3 relative to the antenna reflector and the position of the plates 3 and 4 with one another is carried out by means of a direction finding process during the manufacture and the electrical testing of the antenna, that is to say prior to its installation.
- the adjusting device according to FIGS. 3 and 4 consists of a base plate 21 with a z. B.. from about 205 to 235 degrees angle scale 22 for azimuth adjustment.
- the base plate 21 is provided yet with a magnetic compass 23, which, if necessary, can be replaced by a north-seeking gyro, so that the angular degree scale 22 for the azimuth adjustment in fixed relation to the north-south direction ( Kompassina - del) brought can be.
- the compass 23 has on its outer periphery a shoulder 24 with pointer 25, slot 26 and guide and locking screw 27.
- the base plate 21 also has a spirit level 28 for adjusting the horizontal.
- the side edge 29 of the base plate which is adjacent to the angular degree scale 22, is chamfered and thus designed as a pointer.

Abstract
