Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for collecting and discharging exhaust gases generated during charging or pouring of metallurgical vessels in a steelworks, the goods to be charged or poured being brought into or out of the operating position with a container that can be moved by a crane a fume hood, which in the operating position covers the container and the mouth of the metallurgical vessel and is connected to an exhaust gas line system, the fume hood having one or more exhaust openings which can be connected to the exhaust gas line system at predetermined locations above the working positions.
  • the crane driver has no opportunity to observe the hooking of the crane hooks in the corresponding eyelets of the metallurgical vessel.
  • this known device there is the difficulty that the extractor hood, due to the need to move the crane towards the metallurgical vessel during charging, e.g. Converter, can only be designed up to a certain size; it is too small for the complete detection of the smoke, which is why some of the exhaust gases escape past the extractor hood.
  • the invention aims at avoiding these disadvantages and difficulties and has as its object to create a device with which the gases generated during the production of steel are almost completely recorded, this device being advantageous for a plurality of work stations where smoke is generated, can be used, but the hall crane can be moved unhindered by stationary installations in the different operating positions.
  • the unit consisting of crane trolley and extractor hood can be moved between different operating positions of the metallurgical vessel, e.g. between the filling position and the pouring position of a pig iron mixer, with the extractor hood being connectable to a chimney in every operating position.
  • the opening in the fume cupboard is advantageously widened and preferably extended in the direction of travel of the crane trolley, corrective movements of the crane trolley being able to be carried out without adversely affecting the gas discharge.
  • a flange which is extended in the direction of travel of the crane trolley to be attached to the connection opening of the extractor hood.
  • FIG. 1 is a side view of the device on a pig iron emptying pit, partly in section
  • Fig. 2 is a side view of the device on a pig iron mixer, partly in section, in two positions
  • Fig. 3 is a side view of the Device at a converter stand
  • Fig. 4 shows a front view of the device, partly in section.
  • Figure 5 is a page View of the connection position of the extractor hood to a chimney opening
  • FIGS. 6 and 6a show sections along the line VI-VI of FIG. 5, with FIG. 6 corresponding to the extended position and FIG. 6a to the broken line position in FIG. 5.
  • a bridge crane 2 mounted on supports 1 can be moved along rails 3 along a steelworks hall.
  • the crane trolley 5 is guided on the crane bridge 4 and, according to the invention, forms a movable unit with a hood 6 surrounding it.
  • the extractor hood is provided with one or more discharge openings 7.
  • In the roof 8 of the hall are at predetermined locations, u. mounted above the smoke-generating work stations, chimney sockets 9, which if necessary lead to a common suction and filter system with manifolds 10.
  • the chimney stubs have a funnel-shaped part 11.
  • the connecting part of the hood 6 is formed with a flange 12 which is elongated in the running direction of the crane trolley, as can be seen more clearly in FIGS. 5 and 6a.
  • Fig. 6 corresponds to the fully extended position of Fig. 5, in which a correction can be made in both directions back and forth.
  • Fig. 6a corresponds to the dashed position of Fig. 5.
  • the openings of the chimney nozzles can be opened and closed with panels, flaps or the like. Limit switches, gate controls or similar devices can be provided for their actuation.
  • a chimney nozzle 9 adjoining the extractor hood 6 is opened, while advantageously all the other chimney nozzles remain closed in order to prevent false air being drawn into the filter system.
  • the hood can, as in the
  • FIG. 1 to 4 is shown to be equipped with guide plates 13 laterally attached to its lower edge and a chain curtain 14 in order to bring about improved smoke guidance.
  • the guide plates are guided down between the bridge girders 4, 4 '.
  • a mesh 15 can be provided on the underside to prevent flames from penetrating.
  • Various possible uses of the device according to the invention are illustrated in the individual figures. u. between in Fig. 1 at a pig iron dump.
  • a pig iron transport pan 16 hangs on the hook 17 of the crane trolley 5 and is fed by a torpedo mixer 18.
  • the smoke rising during the loading process is taken up by the hood 6 and discharged through the chimney nozzle 9, which nozzle is at a distance A from the crane support 1.
  • FIG. 2 illustrates the use of the device according to the invention when pouring pig iron into a pig iron mixer and when pouring pig iron from the mixer into a transport pan.
  • the unit according to the invention consisting of crane trolley 5 and extractor hood 6 has been moved into the operating position shown in dash-dotted lines, the snout of the pig iron pan 19 coming to rest above the pouring opening 20 of the pig iron mixer 21, so that the pouring process can begin by tilting the pan 19.
  • the associated chimney socket 9 ' to which the extractor hood connects, is located at a distance A 2 from the crane support.
  • the hood 6 is moved into the fully extended position, the associated chimney socket 9 ′′ being at a distance A 3 from the crane support 1.
  • FIG. 3 shows the charging of a converter 22 by means of a scrap chute 23 or a pig iron transport pan 16, the converter being in the tilted position.
  • the extractor hood 6, which is positioned over the mouth of the converter 22 and the charging containers 16, 23, adjoins a chimney nozzle 9 ′′ ′ , which is again at a distance A 4 from a crane support 1.
  • a main extractor hood 24 is provided centrally above the converter stand which absorbs the exhaust gases generated during the refreshing in the upright position of the converter 22.
