Abstract
Un método y un sistema para reducir las placas vasculares no invasivamente, que comprende las etapas de obtener una imagen de por lo menos una parte de un cuerpo de mamífero para producir una imagen; determinar la localización de por lo menos una placa vascular en dicha imagen; identificar la localización de la base de dicha placa vascular, siendo dicha localización de la base la localización diana; determinar con exactitud la posición relativa de dicha localización diana con respecto al ritmo cardiaco en el cuerpo; administrar un haz de ondas energéticas de ultrasonidos a partir de una fuente a una posición relativa con el fin de elevar la temperatura de dicha localización diana de una manera predeterminada; realizar el seguimiento de la temperatura de la localización diana; e interrumpir la administración de ondas energéticas de ultrasonidos al alcanzar dicha localización diana una temperatura determinada prefijada.
