Claims (5)
1. Fremgangsmåde til at styre en molekylvægtfordeling af et produkt fra en additionspolymerisationsreaktion omfattende de følgende trin: a) at indlede additionspolymerisationsreaktionen på et indledningstidspunkt; og b) at tilsætte mindst en reaktionskomponent til reaktionen i løbet af den mindst ene reaktionstid efter indledningstidspunktet; hvor reaktionskomponenten er udvalgt fra gruppen bestående af: a) mindst en katalysator; a) mindst en co-katalysator; c) mindst et reversibelt kædeoverførselsmiddel; og d) en hvilken som helst kombination af a), b) og c); hvor produktet fra additionspolymerisationsreaktionen er et polycarbonat, hvor additionspolymerisationen er en co-polymerisation af carbondioxid og et epoxid, og hvor reaktionskomponenten tilsættes kontinuerligt til reaktionen med en kontinuerlig additionshastighed og efter indledningen af reaktionen.
2. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, hvor katalysatoren omfatter mindst en metalbaseret katalysator udvalgt fra gruppen bestående af: a) en aluminumbaseret katalysator; b) en manganbaseret katalysator; c) en chrombaseret katalysator; d) en koboltbaseret katalysator; e) en yttriumbaseret katalysator; f) en zinkbaseret katalysator; g) en cadmiumbaseret katalysator; h) en nikkelbaseret katalysator; og i) en hvilken som helst kombination af a) til h).
3. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1 eller krav 2, hvor additionspolymerisationen er en co-polymerisation af carbondioxid og propylenoxid.
4. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et af kravene 1 til 3, yderligere omfattende at tilsætte et kædeafbrydelsesmiddel før et afslutningstidspunkt, når reaktionen er stoppet.
5. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, hvor den kontinuerlige additionshastighed varieres over tid.
