Mineralschmieröle
Patentiert im Deutschen Reich vom 28. September 1939 an
Patenterteilung bekanntgemacht am 24. Juli 1941
Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patents ist eine Verbesserung von Mineralschmierölen,
Bohrölen und Schneidölen durch Zusatz von öllöslichen Xanthogentetrasulfiden.
Es ist an sich bekannt, derartige schwere Mineralöle dadurch zu verbessern, daß man
ihnen geschwefelte Mineral- oder fette öle zusetzt. Diese Zusatzstoffe sind aber im allgemeinen
dunkel gefärbt, stark riechend und arm an chemisch gebundenem Schwefel.
Weiter hat man auch für diese Zwecke Alkylsulfide
oder Alkylpolysulfide vorgeschlagen, aber auch ihre Verwendung ist stark eingeschränkt
wegen ihres stechenden, widerwärtigen Geruches.
Besser wirken schon Xanthogendisulfide, die durch Oxydation von Xanthogenaten gewonnen
werden können, aber sie bewirken als Zusätze zu Schmierölen nur eine geringe Erhöhung
der Belastungsfähigkeit. Auf der Mougey-Almen-Maschine der Society of Automotive
Engineers versagte ein mit 5 °/0 eines derartigen Zusatzes versehenes Schmieröl bereits
bei einer Achsenbelastung von 90,6 kg. Eine leichte Verbesserung kann erreicht werden,
wenn man das Trisulfid verwendet oder die Lösungen tief kühlt und das ausgeschiedene
Material abfiltriert.
Im Gegensatz hierzu ergibt die erfindungsgemäße Verwendung der Xanthogentetrasul-
fide, ζ. B. des Äthyhcanthogentetrasulfids, hervorragende
Erfolge als die Hochdruckschmiereigenschaft von Ölen steigernder Zusatz. Als alleiniger Zusatz zu Mineralschmierölen be^
fähigen bereits 3 °/0 das Schmieröl in d<jn
S.A.E.-Maschine, die Höchstbelastung der Achse mit 260 kg bei 1 000 Touren je' Minute
auszuhalten.
Daneben erfüllt das so veredelte Schmieröl sogar die Forderung der Packardstabilitätsprobe.
Diese Probe schreibt vor:
04stündige Erhitzung des Schmieröls in einem Ofen auf 930 C und die Behandlung des
so erhitzten Öles in der S.A.E.-Maschine bei ,5 1000 Touren je Minute mit einer Belastung,
■ die um 38 kg je Sekunde bis zur Erreichung der Höchstbelastung erhöht wird, bei einer
Oberflächenreibung der sich reibenden Flächen im Verhältnis von 14,6 : 1. Das zu prüao
fende Öl soll dabei eine volle Belastung von 255 kg aushalten.
Ein außerordentlich weites Verwendungsfeld haben die erfindungsgemäßen Tetrasulfide
bzw. die mit ihnen versetzten Öle auf dem Gebiet der Schneidöle. Hier ist die Kühlwirkung
der Öle wichtig, weil es gelingt, ohne Entwicklung übel riechender oder schädlicher
Dämpfe oder Verfärbung des Öles zu arbeiten und so die Werkstücke ohne weitere Behandlung
in reinem und sauberem Zustande zu erhalten.
Für diese Zwecke gibt man den Ölen zunächst einen Zusatz von 2 bis 10 °/o der oben
bezeichneten Tetrasulfide. Sogenannte wasserlösliche Schneid- und Bohröle können
urch Zusatz von geeigneten Emulgatoren, wie
B. Natriumnaphthenaten, Sulfonaten, Harz-Glycerin, Alkohol, geschaffen werden.
Schmierölgrundlage, der die Tetrasulfide
gesetzt werden, kann Rohöl oder Raffinate 4»
mit Viscositäten von etwa 2 bis 1410E bei
380 C benutzt werden.
In manchen Fällen, wo nur eine oxydations- und korrosionshindernde Wirkung erstrebt
wird, genügt schon ein Zusatz von 0,01 bis 2 °/o des Xanthogentetrasulfids. Zur Herstellung
von Hochdruckschmieren oder Getriebeölen werden Grundöle mit höheren Viscositäten
verwendet, die unter Umständen auch einen höheren Viscositätsindex, z. B. 5«
über 50, haben. Die erfindungsgemäßen Mischungen können in Verbindung mit Linearpolymeren
zur Verbesserung des Vicositätsindexes mit fließpunktherabsetzenden Mitteln, Farben, Harzen, Voltolölen, Estern, ferner den
ölcharakter steigernden, die Oxydation behindernden Stoffen, Seifen, wie Calciumstearat,
Bleioleat, Blei- oder Aluminiumnaphthenat, halogenierten Estern, halogenierten Paraffinen,
Netzmitteln angewandt werden. 6«

- Patentanspruch:Verwendung von öllöslichen Xanthogentetrasulfiden zur Verbesserung der schmierenden Eigenschaften und der Oxydationsfestigkeit von Mineralschmierölen.
