Description
- Diese Erfindung betrifft eine Zusammensetzung, die ein lineares Organopolysiloxan/α-Olefin-Copolymer umfaßt, die zur Herstellung eines Films, einer Folie bzw. Platte und eines Schlauchs bzw. Rohrmaterials geeignet ist.
- Silikone sind in großem Umfang für verschiedene Anwendungszwecke verwendet worden, weil sie bekannte Eigenschaften aufweisen wie: Gleitfähigkeit, Formtrennbarkeit, Sauerstoffdurchlässigkeit, Abstoßen von Wasser und elektrisches Isolierungsvermögen. In Bezug auf Strangpressen und Formgebungsverfahren haben die Silikone jedoch verschiedene Nachteile. Ein Mangel ist die geringe mechanische Festigkeit, ein weiterer die Schwierigkeit der Formbarkeit von Silikon zu einem Film, und noch ein weiterer Nachteil ist die schlechte Verpreßbarkeit.
- Aufgabe dieser Erfindung ist es daher, eine Zusammensetzung zu schaffen, die neben anderen Komponenten ein Polyorganosiloxan umfaßt, das die Vorteile der Silikone beibehält und die Nachteile ausschaltet.
- Andere Aufgaben und Vorteile werden im folgenden dargestellt.
- Erfindungsgemäß wird die obige Aufgabe von einer Zusammensetzung gelöst, die zusätzlich zu einem vernetzbaren thermoplastischen Marz, einer aliphatischen Verbindung mit zwei oder mehreren Kohlenstoff-Kohlenstoff-Doppelbindungen und einem organischen Peroxid-Vernetzungsmittel ein lineares Organopolysiloxan/α-Olefin-Copolymer mit der folgenden Formel umfaßt:
- worin R eine gesättigte aliphatische oder aromatische Gruppe und jedes R gleich oder verschieden ist,
- a 1 bis 1.000 bedeutet und
- b 5 bis 100 ist.
- Copolymere dieser Art sind in EP-A-0 254 050 als Komponenten von Formtrennmitteln beschrieben worden.
- In der obigen Formel bedeutet R eine gesättigte aliphatische oder aromatische Gruppe mit vorzugsweise 1 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen, am meisten bevorzugt mit 1 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen. Beispiele geeigneter R-Gruppen sind Methyl, Ethyl, Propyl, Isopropyl, Butyl, Isobutyl, Benzyl, Phenyl, Tolyl, Xylyl, Phenethyl und Naphthyl. Die Alkylgruppen werden bevorzugt. Der Index a liegt vorzugsweise im Bereich von 8 bis 200 und der Index b vorzugsweise im Bereich von 8 bis 30.
- Das erfindungsgemäße lineare Organopolysiloxan/α-Olefin- Copolymer wird hergestellt durch Umsetzung eines Organopolysiloxans mit der folgenden Formel:
- worin R und a die obigen Bedeutungen haben,
- mit einem α-Olefin der folgenden Formel:
- CH&sub2; = CH(CH&sub2;)b-2CH&sub3;
- worin b die obige Bedeutung hat.
- Beispiele von α-Olefinen sind 1-Hexen, 1-Octen, 1-Dodecen, 1- Tetradecen, 1-Hexadecen, 1-Octadecen, 1-Eicosen, 1-Doeicosen, 1-Tetraeicosen, 1-Hexaeicosen, 1-Octaeicosen, 1-Triaconten, 1-Dotriaconten, 1-Tetratriaconten, 1-Hexatriaconten, 1- Octatriaconten, 1-Tetraconten, 1-Pentaconten, 1-Hexaconten, 1-Heptaconten, 1-Octaconten, 1-Nonaconten und 1-Decaconten. Diese α-Olefine können einzeln oder in Mischung verwendet werden.
- Die Umsetzung des Siloxans mit dem α-Olefin erfolgt in Anwesenheit eines Hydrosilylierungs-Katalysators. Der Katalysator kann ein organisches Peroxid, eine Azoverbindung, eine Platinverbindung wie Chlorplatinsäure oder eine Platinverbindung oder Platin, aufgebracht auf einem inerten Träger wie Siliziumdioxid oder Aluminiumoxid, sein. Ein bevorzugter Katalysator ist eine oxidierte Platinsäure, entweder mit oder ohne Träger. Ein Beispiel ist Platinsäurechlorid. Platin- Kohlenwasserstoff-Komplexe und Platinalkoholate sind ebenfalls geeignete Katalysatoren.
- Es wird ein Lösungsmittel verwendet, wobei einer der Reaktionssteilnehmer in dem anderen Reaktionsteilnehmer nicht löslich ist. Ein geeignetes Lösungsmittel ist unter den Reaktionsbedingungen inert, wie z. B. Benzol, Toluol, Hexen, Pentan, Hexan, Heptan, Octan, Cyclopentan, Cyclohexan, Methanol, Ethanol, Propanol und Butanol.
- Die Reaktion kann bei einer Temperatur im Bereich von 50º C bis 150º C , vorzugsweise von 80º C bis 120º C, erfolgen. Es ist kein spezieller Druck erforderlich, d. h. die Umsetzung kann bei subatmosphärischen, atmosphärischen und überatmosphärischen Drücken erfolgen.
- Gewöhnlich wird das Organosiloxan, ein oder mehrere α-Olefine, der Katalysator und ein inertes Lösungsmittel unter einer inerten Atmosphäre wie z. B. Stickstoff in einen Reaktor eingeführt. Die Reaktion wird solange durchgeführt, bis sich die Viskosität der Mischung nicht mehr erhöht. Das Reaktionsprodukt wird dann neutralisiert und gereinigt, um das erfindungsgemäß verwendete lineare Organopolysiloxan/α-Olefin- Copolymer zu erhalten.
- Pro jeweils 100 Teile an Organosiloxan in der Reaktionsmischung werden die folgenden, anderen Komponenten zugegeben: Gewichtsteile Komponente breiter Bereich bevorzugter Bereich α-Olefin Katalysator Lösungsmittel (sofern erforderlich)
- Um das lineare Organopolysiloxan/α-Olefin-Copolymer zur Herstellung von Filmschichten, Folien bzw. Platten oder Schläuchen bzw. Rohrmaterialien zu verwenden, wird das Copolymer mit den oben genannten Komponenten, und zwar einem vernetzbaren thermoplastischen Harz, einer aliphatischen Verbindung mit zwei oder mehreren Kohlenstoff-Kohlenstoff- Doppelbindungen, vorzugsweise zwei Doppelbindungen, und mit einem organischen Peroxid-Vernetzungsmittel vermischt.
- Als thermoplastisches Harz kann jedes vernetzbare Homopolymer oder Copolymer, hergestellt aus zwei oder mehreren Comonomeren, oder eine Mischung von zwei oder mehreren dieser Polymere, verwendet werden, wie sie gewöhnlich für Filme, Folien bzw. Platten und Schläuche bzw. Rohrmaterialien sowie als Ummantelungs- und/oder Isoliermaterial für Drähte und Kabel Verwendung finden.
- Gewöhnlich weisen die für die Herstellung dieser Homopolymere und Copolymere geeigneten Monomere 2 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatome auf. Beispiele solcher Monomere sind α-Olefine wie Ethylen, Propylen, 1-Buten, 1-Hexen, 4-Methyl-1-penten und 1- Octen; ungesättigte Ester wie Vinylacetat, Ethylacrylat, Methylacrylat, Methylmethacrylat, t-Butylacrylat, n-Butylacrylat, n-Butylmethacrylat, 2-Ethylhexylacrylat und andere Alkylacrylate; Diolefine wie 1,4-Pentadien, 1,3-Hexadien, 1,5- Hexadien, 1,4-Octadien und Ethyliden-norbornen; andere Monomere wie Styrol, p-Methylstyrol, α-Methylstyrol, p- Chlorstyrol, Vinylnaphthalin und ähnliche Arylolefine; Nitrile wie Acrylnitril, Methacrylnitril und α-Chloracrylnitril; Vinylmethylketon, Vinylmethylether, Vinylidenchlorid, Maleinsäureanhydrid, Vinylchlorid, Vinylalkohol, Vinylidenchlorid, Tetrafluorethylen und Chlortrifluorethylen; und Acrylsäure, Methacrylsäure und andere ähnliche ungesättigte Säuren.
- Die genannten Homopolymere und Copolymere können nicht- halogeniert oder in herkömmlicher Weise halogeniert sein, gewöhnlich mit Chlor oder Brom. Beispiele halogenierter Polymere sind Polyvinylchlorid, Polyvinylidenchlorid und Polytetrafluorethylen. Zusätzlich zu den Polyolefinen können die Polymere umfassen: Polyester, Polycarbonate und Polyurethane. Die Homopolymere und Copolymere von Ethylen werden bevorzugt, sowohl in nicht-halogenierter als auch in halogenierter Form. Zu der bevorzugten Gruppe gehören Terpolymere wie Ethylen/Propylen/Dienmonomer-Kautschuk.
- Aliphatische Verbindungen mit 2 Doppelbindungen sind z. B: 1,5-Hexadien, 1,6-Heptadien, 1,7-Octadien, 1,8-Nonadien, 1,9- Decadien, 1,10-Undecadien, 1,11-Dodecadien, 1,12-Tridecadien, 1,13-Tetradecadien, 1,14-Pentadecadien, 1,15-Hexadecadien, 1,16-Heptadecadien, 1,17-Octadecadien, Bis(4-acryloxypolyethoxyphenyl)propan, 1,3-Butylenglykol-diacrylat, Pentadioldiacrylat, Neopentylglykol-diacrylat, 1,6-Hexandiol-diacrylat, Diethylenglykol-diacrylat, Triethylenglykol-diacrylat, Tetraethylenglykol-diacrylat, Trimethylolpropan-triacrylat, Ethylenglykol-dimethacrylat, 1,4-Butandiol-diacrylat, 1,3- Butylenglykol-dimethacrylat, Neopentylglykol-dimethacrylat, 1,6-Hexandiol-dimethacrylat, Diethylenglykol-dimethacrylat, Triethylenglykol-dimethacrylat, Dipropylenglykol-dimethacrylat, Trimethylolethan-trimethacrylat, Trimethylolpropantrimethacrylat, Diacrylphthalat, Triallylcyanurat, Triallylisocyanurat, Triallyltrimellitat und Diallylcholendat.
- Das in der erfindungsgemäßen Zusammensetzung verwendete organische Peroxid-Vernetzungsmittel hat vorzugsweise eine Zersetzungstemperatur von 100º bis 220º C für eine Halbwertzeit von 10 Minuten. Beispielhaft dafür sind die folgenden Verbindungen [wobei die in Klammern genannten Zahlen ihre Zersetzungstemperaturen bedeuten (ºC)]: Bernsteinsäureperoxid (110), Benzoylperoxid (110), t-Butylperoxy-2-ethylhexanoat (113), p-Chlorbenzoylperoxid (115), t-Butylperoxyisobutylat (115), t-Butylperoxyisopropylcarbonat (135), t-Butylperoxylaurat (140), 2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(benzoylperoxy)hexan (140), t-Butylperoxyacetat (140), Di-t-butyldiperoxyphthalat (140), t-Butylperoxy-maleinsäureanhydrid (140), Cyclohexanonperoxid (145), t-Butylperoxybenzoat (145), Dicumylperoxid (150), 2,5- Dimethyl-2,5-di(t-butylperoxy)hexan (155), t-Butylcumylperoxid (155), t-Butylhydroperoxid (158), Di-t-butylperoxid (160), 2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di(t-butylperoxy)hexan-3 (170), Di-isopropylbenzolhydroperoxid (170), p-Menthanhydroperoxid (180) und 2,5-Dimethylhexan-2,5-dihydroxyperoxid (213).
- Bei diesen Zusammensetzungen, die mit herkömmlichen Verfahren wie Extrudieren, Spritzgießen, Kalendrieren und Formpressen geformt werden können, können für jeweils 100 Teile des vernetzbaren thermoplastischen Harzes als geeignete Mengen anderer Komponenten folgende gelten: Gewichtsteile Komponente breiter Bereich bevorzugter Bereich Organopolysiloxan/Olefin-Copolymer ungesättigte aliphatische Verbindung organisches Peroxid-Vernetzungsmittel
- Diese Komponenten können einzeln oder als Mischung von zwei oder mehreren dieser Komponenten verwendet werden.
- Geeignete Additive für die obige Zusammensetzung sind Haftmittel, oberflächenaktive Mittel, verstärkende Füllmittel oder Polymeradditive, Antioxidantien, UV-Stabilisatoren, antistatische Mittel, Pigmente, Farben, Gleitmittel, Weichmacher, Schmiermittel, Viskositätssteuerungsmittel, Extenderöle, Metall-Inaktivierungsmittel, Verzögerungsmittel bei der Bildung von Wasserbäumchen (Treeing-Phänomen), Volt-Stabilisatoren, flammhemmende Additive und Rauch-unterdrückende Mittel.
- Die erfindungsgemäße Zusammensetzung wird gewöhnlich heißgeknetet, um diese homogen zu machen und zur Formung vorzubereiten, d.h. zum Extrudieren oder Formpressen zu Filmen, Folien bzw. Platten, Schläuchen bzw. Rohren und anderen Gegenständen. Das Hitze-Kneten kann in einem Banbury-Mixer, einem Doppelschneckenextruder oder in einer herkömmlichen Knetvorrichtung erfolgen. Die Knettemperatur liegt vorzugsweise im Bereich von 100º bis 300º C. Zur Formgebung werden herkömmliche Vorrichtungen verwendet.
- Die Erfindung wird durch die folgenden Beispiele näher beschrieben.
- Ein lineares Organopolysiloxan/α-Olefin-Copolymer - wie oben beschrieben - wurde hergestellt durch Umsetzung von 100 Gew.- Teilen eines Organosiloxans mit der Formel:
- mit 30 Gew.-Teilen einer Mischung von α-Olefinen (C&sub2;&sub0;, C&sub2;&sub2;, C&sub2;&sub4;, C&sub2;&sub6; und C&sub2;&sub8;) in Anwesenheit von Platinsäurechlorid bei 25º C. Das erhaltene Copolymer ist wachsartig. Das Copolymer wurde in die folgende Zusammensetzung eingebracht.
- 100 Gew.-Teile Ethylen/Vinylacetat-Copolymer mit einem Schmelzindex von 2,5 g/10 Min. und einem Gehalt von 18 % Vinylacetat (bezogen auf des Gewicht des Copolymers), 40 Gew.- Teile des oben hergestellten Organosiloxan/α-Olefin-Copolymers, 1 Gew.-Teil Triallyltrimellitat, 2 Gew.-Teile Dicumylperoxid und 0,1 Gew.Teile eines Antioxidationsmittels, Tetrakis[methylen(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyhydrocinnamat)]methan, wurden bei 160º C 20 Minuten lang in einem Brabender-Mixer geknetet. Die Mischung wurde dann zu einer 1 mm dicken Folie formgepresst. Die Folie hatte einen Schmelzindex von 30 g/10 Min., eine Zugfestigkeit von 80 kg/cm², eine Dehnung von 350 % und wies im wesentlichen keine Trübung auf. Die Folie wurde pelletiert und bei 160º C zu einem Band extrudiert.
- Beispiel 1 wurde ohne Dicumylperoxidzugabe wiederholt. Die Knetvorrichtung rutschte, so daß kein homogenes Produkt geformt werden konnte.
- Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt mit der Ausnahme, daß das Organopolysiloxan die folgende Formel aufwies:
- das α-Olefin eine Mischung von α-Olefinen mit jeweils 30 oder mehr Kohlenstoffatomen war, das vernetzbare thermoplastische Harz ein Ethylen/Ethylacrylat-Copolymer mit einem Schmelzindex von 6 g/10 Min. war und 18 Gew.-% Ethylacrylat enthielt; es wurden 30 Gew.-Teile des Organopolysiloxan/α-Olefin- Copolymers verwendet; die ungesättigte aliphatische Verbindung war Triallylisocyanurat; das Kneten erfolgte für eine Dauer von 30 Minuten. Die Ergebnisse für diese Folie unterscheiden sich darin, daß der Schmelzindex 40 g/10 Min. beträgt, die Zugfestigkeit 60 kg/cm² und die Dehnung 300 % beträgt.
- Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt mit der Ausnahne, daß als das vernetzbare thermoplastische Harz ein Ethylen-1-buten-Copolymer mit einem Schmelzindex von 4,7 g/10 Min. und einer Dichte von 0,900 g/cm² verwendet wurde; 35 Gew.Teile des Organopolysiloxan/α-Olefin-Copolymers verwendet wurden; 2 Gew.-Teile der ungesättigten aliphatischen Verbindung, in diesem Falle Triallylisocyanurat, verwendet wurden; das Kneten bei 100º C für eine Dauer von 10 Minuten und danach 10 Minuten lang bei 160º C erfolgte. Die Ergebnisse unterscheiden sich insofern, als der Schmelzindex 30 g/10 Min. beträgt, die Zugfestigkeit 120 kg/cm² ist und die Dehnung 600 % beträgt.
- Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt mit der Ausnahme, daß die Pellets zu einer 70 um-dicken aufgeblasenen Folie bei einer Strangpreßtemperatur von 170º C und einem Blasverhältnis von 1:6 unter Verwendung eines Schneckenextruders mit einem Verhältnis von Länge/Durchmesser von 24 geformt wurden. Die aufgeblasene Folie hatte eine Berstfestigkeit von etwa 220 kg/cm².
- Beispiel 3 wurde wiederholt mit der Ausnahme, daß 7 Gew.- Teile einer Mischung aus C&sub6;, C&sub8; und C&sub1;&sub0;-α-Olefinen verwendet wurden, die ungesättigte aliphatische Verbindung Triacrylisocyanurat war und die Pellets bei 190ºC zu einem Schlauch von 10 mm äußerem Durchmesser und 2 mm Dicke unter Verwendung einer Extrudiervorrichtung mit einem 10 mm-Durchmesser und einem Verhältnis von Länge/Durchmesser von 24 geformt wurden. Der Schlauch hatte eine Berstfestigkeit von etwa 80 kg/cm².
Claims (11)
1. Zusammensetzung, die umfaßt:
(i) ein vernetzbares thermoplastisches Harz;
(ii) eine aliphatische Verbindung mit zwei oder mehreren
Kohlenstoff-Kohlenstoff-Doppelbindungen;
(iii) ein organisches Peroxid-Vernetzungsmittel und
(iv) ein lineares Organopolysiloxan/α-Olefin-Copolymer
mit der folgenden Formel:
worin R eine gesättigte aliphatische oder aromatische
Gruppe und jedes R gleich oder verschieden ist;
a 1 bis 1.000 bedeutet und
b 5 bis 100 ist.
2. Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 1, worin R 1 bis 10
Kohlenstoffatome aufweist.
3. Zusammensetzung nach einem oder beiden der Ansprüche 1
und 2, worin das Copolymer (iv) hergestellt wurde durch
Kontaktieren eines Organopolysiloxans der Formel
worin R und a die in Anspruch 1 definierten Bedeutungen
haben,
mit einem α-Olefin mit der Formel:
CH&sub2; = CH(CH&sub2;)b-2CH&sub3;
worin b die in Anspruch 1 definierte Bedeutung hat,
unter Reaktionsbedingungen in Anwesenheit eines
Katalysators.
4. Zusammensetzung nach einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche
1 bis 3, worin das thermoplastische Harz ein Homopolymer
oder Copolymer von Ethylen und einem oder mehreren α-
Olefinen oder ungesättigten Estern ist.
5. Zusammensetzung nach einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche
1 bis 4 in vernetztem Zustand.
6. Zusammensetzung nach einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche
1 bis 5, worin R 1 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatome aufweist,
7. Zusammensetzung nach einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche
1 bis 6, worin der Index a 8 bis 200 und der Index b 8
bis 30 bedeutet.
8. Zusammensetzung nach einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche

Teile an aliphatischer Verbindung; 0,1 bis 10 Gew.-
Teile, z. B. 0,5 bis 3 Gew.-Teile an organischem Peroxid-
Vernetzungsmittel; und 0,01 bis 300 Gew.-Teile, z. B.
0,05 bis 60 Gew.-Teile an Copolymer vorliegen.
9. Elektrischer Leiter, der mit der Zusammensetzung nach
einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche 1 bis 8 beschichtet
ist.
10. Hergestelltes Produkt in Form eines Films, einer Folie
bzw. Platte oder eines Schlauchs, das die Zusammensetzung
nach einem oder mehreren der Ansprüche 1 bis 8 umfaßt.
11. Hergestelltes Produkt, das einen elektrischen Leiter und
wenigstens eine den Leiter umschließende Schicht umfaßt,
die die Zusammensetzung nach einem oder mehreren der
Ansprüche 1 bis 8 umfaßt.
