Description
- Verfahren zur Herstellung von Schmiermitteln. Man hat bereits vorgeschlagen, Kolophonium zur Herstellung von Schmiermitteln zu verwenden. Indessen hat sich dieses Verfahren in der Technik nicht bewährt, weil das Kolophonium sehr stark klebt und zur Bildung harziger, klebender Rückstände in den Lagern Veranlassung gibt. ' Es hat sich nun gezeigt, daß sich dieses Nachteile vermeiden lassen, wenn man das Kolophonium hydriert. - Man erhält dann Stoffe, die ganz vorzüglich für sich allein oder in Mischung mit anderen geeigneten Stoffen als Schmiermittel Verwendung finden können. Die Hydrierung des Kolophoniums für diesen Zweck wird in an sich bekannter Weise vorgenommen. Beispielsweise kann man in folgender Weise arbeiten.
- i oo kg Kolophonium werden unter Verwendung geringer Mengen Palladium als Katalysator durch Einleiten von Wasserstoff bei einem Druck von; 3 bis ¢ Atm. einige Stunden lang bei Temperaturen von 8o bis ioo' C hydriert. Es entsteht ein Produkt, das äußerlich dem Kolophonium ähnlich ist, sich aber dadurch auszeichnet, daß es seine Klebrigkeit ganz oder teilweise verloren hat.
- Die Hydrierung kann auch in einem Lösungsmittel, das von Wasserstoff nicht angegriffen wird, vorgenommen werden.
- Zur Herstellung von Schmiermitteln kann das Kolophonium mit Stoffen gemischt werden, die sonst für Schmierzwecke benutzt werden, beispielsweise Mineralöle, technische Öle und Fette u. dgl.
- Ausführungsbeispiele: i. In i oo kg Spindelöl werden 2 5 kg hydriertes Kolophonium unter Erwärmen gelöst. Nachdem vollständige Lösung eingetreten ist und die Masse abgekühlt ist, werden 3 kg Ölsäure zugegeben und dann mit entsprechender Menge Alkalilauge verseift. Man erzielt hierbei ein sehr gut emulgierbares Öl, das beispielsweise zum Bohren, Fräsen; u. dgl. Verwendung finden kann. Zwecks Entfernung etwaiger Trübungen können dem Öl auch geringe Mengen Alkohol zugefügt werden.
- i oo kg Spindelöl werden mit 15 kg hydriertem Harz und 7 kg Talg gemischt. Die 1\Zischung wird auf etwa 8o° C erwärmt und unter beständigem Rühren eine Mischung von 8 kg Kalkhydrat und i o kg Mineralöl zugegeben. Man kocht dann etwa 5 Minuten lang. Nach dem Abkühlen entsteht ein festes konsistentes Fett.
- 3. i oo kg hydriertes Harz, i oo kg Rübö.l, 5k- Fettsäure und 3o kg Mineralöl werden zusammengeschmolzen. Man kühlt dann ab, bis das Produkt eine dickflüssige Konsistenz angenommen hat. Alsdann werden unter Rühren langsam entsprechende Mengen 5ogrädge Kalilauge zugegeben und hierauf die Masse mit 2o k- Mineralöl verrührt.
- Man erhält eine Masse von Butterkonsistenz, die in Wasser leicht löslich ist und die als Ziehfett oder als in Wasser lösliches Fett benutzt werden kann.

- PATENT-ANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung von Schmiermitteln, gekennzeichnet durch die Verwendung von hydriertem Kolophonium.
