indem eine Lösung des Amins der Formel III mit einer Lösung des Säurechlorids der Formel II in einem inerten organischen
Lösungsmittel, wie JMethylenchlorid, in Gegenwart eines Säureakzeptors,
wie eines tertiären Amins, zusammengegeben wird. Typischerweise werden Reaktionstemperaturen unterhalb der
Raumtemperatur und solche im Bereich von -3O0C bis Raumtemperatur
verwendet. Nach Beendigung der Reaktion wird das Reak-

tionsgemisch mit Wasser und/oder wäßriger Alkalimetallbicarbonat-Lösung
gewaschen, um das Säureakzeptorsalz zu entfernen und kann nachfolgend vom Lösungsmittel befreit werden, um
das gewünschte Produkt zu ergeben. Dieses Produkt kann als solches verwendet werden oder durch herkömmliche Techniken
weiter gereinigt werden.
Das Säurechlorid der Formel II kann aus der korrespondierenden freien Säure durch Umsetzung mit Thionylchlorid hergestellt
werden. Zur Bewirkung dieser Reaktion werden die Säure und Thionylchlorid unter Rühren in einem inerten, trockenen
organischen Reaktionsmedium, wie Toluol, zusammengegeben. Die Reaktion kann bei Raumtemperatur oder bei erhöhten Temperaturen,
wie bei Temperaturen im Bereich von bis zu 900C, durchgeführt werden. Nach Beendigung der Reaktion kann das
gewünschte Produkt gewonnen werden, indem das Lösungsmittel, welches als Reaktionsmedium verwendet wurde, abgezogen wird.
Die Verbindungen der Formel II und deren korrespondierende freie Säuren sind dem Fachmann bekannt und sind von
Schoenowsky et al. in Z. Naturforsch. 35b, Seiten 902-908 (1980), wie auch in den Europäischen Patentanmeldungen
0001641, veröffentlicht am 2. Juni 1979, und 0011802, veröffentlicht am 11. Juni 1980, beschrieben.
Beispiele für Säurevorläufer der Verbindungen der Formel II, die sich zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen
eignen, sind folgende: 2-/2-Nitro-3-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy7propionsäure,
2-/2-Nitro-3-(4-trifluormethylphenoxy)

N-(4-Ethyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin,
N-(4-Propyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin, N-(4-Butyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin,
N-(4-Chlor-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl) amin,
N-(4-Brom-1,3-dioxolan-2-y!methyl)amin, N-Methyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin,
N-Ethyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyDamin,
N-Propyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin,

Die Art, in welcher die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen hergestellt
werden können, ist in größeren Einzelheiten in den nachfolgenden Beispielen beschrieben.
Herstellung von 2-/*2-Nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)-phenoxy_7propiony !chlor id
2-/~2-Nitro-5- (2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy7propionsäure
(100 g) und Toluol (40 ml) wurden in ein mit einem magnetischen Rührer ausgerüstetes Glasreaktionsgefäß eingegeben.
Das Gemisch wurde auf einem Dampfbad erhitzt, bis eine Lösung erhalten worden war. Die Lösung wurde abkühlen gelassen und
Thionylchlorid (100 ml) wurde tropfenweise unter Rühren zuge-
setzt. Nach Beendigung der Zugabe wurde das Gemisch auf 670C
unter fortgesetztem Rühren für eine Zeit von etwa 2 1/2 Stunden erwärmt. Nach dieser Zeit wurde vom Gemisch das Lösungsmittel
in einem Rotationsverdampfer unter vermindertem Druck abgezogen, wobei ein Rückstand von 105 g des gewünschten Produkts
2-/2-Nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy7-propionylchlorid
als ein burgunder-farbenes viskoses öl verblieb.
Herstellung von N- (1,3-Dioxolan-2-y!methyl) -2-/2-nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy7propionamid
N-(1,3-Dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin (1,85 g; 0,015 Mol), Triethylamin
(5 ml) und Methylenchlorid (50 ml) wurden in ein mit einem mechanischen Rührer, einem Thermometer und einem
Zugabetrichter ausgerüstetes Glasreaktionsgefäß eingegeben. Das Gemisch wurde in einem Trockeneisbad auf eine Temperatur
von -200C bis -100C gekühlt und eine Lösung von 2-/2-Nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy/propionylchlorid
(4,2 g; 0,01 Mol) in Methylenchlorid (50 ml) wurden tropfenweise unter Rühren zugesetzt. Nach Beendigung der Zugabe wurde
das Reaktionsgemisch auf Raumtemperatur erwärmen gelassen unter Rühren über einen Zeitraum von etwa 1 Stunde. Nach dieser
Zeit wurde das Reaktionsgemisch in einen Trenntrichter überführt und mit Wasser (100 ml), mit verdünnter wäßriger
Natriumbicarbonatlösung (200 ml; 5 %-ige Konzentration) und erneut mit Wasser (100 ml) gewaschen. Das gewaschene Gemisch
wurde sodann durch Passieren durch ein Phasentrennungspapier getrocknet und wurde in einem Rotationsverdampfer unter vermindertem
Druck vom Lösungsmittel befreit, wobei ein weißer fester Rückstand verblieb. Der Rückstand wurde in Toluol gelöst,
mit aktivierter Holzkohle behandelt und filtriert. Das

Filtrat wurde teilweise vom Toluol befreit und mit Hexan verdünnt/
wobei sich das gewünschte Produkt N-(1,3-Dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)-2-/2-nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)-phenoxy/propionamid
in Form eines weißen kristallinen Feststoffes mit einem Schmelzpunkt von 148 bis 149,50C niederschlug.
Herstellung von N-Methyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-y!methyl)
-2-f2-
nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethy!phenoxy)phenoxy/propionamid
N-Methyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin (1,1 g; 0,0094 Mol),
Triethylamin (3 ml) und Toluol (60 ml) wurden in ein mit einem mechanischen Rührer, einem Thermometer und einem Zugabetrichter
ausgerüstetes Glasreaktionsgefäß eingegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde mit Stickstoffgas überdeckt und eine Lösung
von 2-/2-Nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trichlormethylphenoxy)phenoxy7~
propiony!chlorid (4,0 g; 0,0094 Mo!) in Toluol (50 ml) wurde
tropfenweise unter Rühren bei Raumtemperatur zugesetzt. Nach Beendigung der Zugabe wurde das Reaktionsgemisch bei Raumtemperatur
über Nacht gerührt. Nach dieser Zeit wurde das Gemisch in einen Trenntrichter überführt und mit Wasser und mit verdünnter
wäßriger Natriumbicarbonatlösung gewaschen. Die gewaschene Lösung wurde getrocknet, filtriert und vom Lösungsmittel
befreit, wonach ein orange-roter gummiartiger Stoff zurückblieb. Dieses Gummi wurde sodann der Chromatographie
unterworfen unter Verwendung einer 150 ml-Säule, die mit Ton
gefüllt war und mit Gemischen von Ethylacetat und Hexan in steigenden Konzentrationen des Ethylacetats als Eluationsmittel.
Insgesamt wurden 11 Fraktionen gesammelt. Die Fraktionen
3 bis 6 wurden vereint und vom Lösungsmittel befreit, um das gewünschte Produkt N-Methyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)-2-/"2-nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trif
luormethylphenoxy)phenoxy/propionamid als ein orange-farbenes Gummi zu ergeben.

Herstellung von N-Ethyl-N- (1 ,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl) -2-/2-nitro-5- (2-chlor-4 -tr if luorme thy !phenoxy) phenoxy7propionantid
N-Ethyl-N-(1/3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin (1,31 g; 0,01 Mol),
Toluol (4 0 ml) und Triethylamin (3 ml) wurden in ein mit
einem magnetischen Rührer, einem Thermometer und einem Zugabetrichter ausgerüstetes Glasreaktionsgefäß eingegeben.
Eine Lösung von 2-/~2-Nitro-5- (2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy) phenoxy/propionylchlorid
(4,2 g; 0,01 Mol) in Toluol (30 ml) wurde tropfenweise unter Rühren bei Raumtemperatur zugesetzt.
Eine leicht exotherme Reaktion wurde beobachtet. Nach Beendigung der Zugabe wurde das Rühren für eine Dauer von etwa
1,5 Stunden fortgesetzt. Nach dieser Zeit wurde das Reaktionsgemisch in einen Trenntrichter überführt und zweimal mit Wasser
(60 ml), verdünnter wäßriger Natriumbicarbonatlösung
(60 ml; 5 % Konzentration) und erneut mit Wasser (60 ml) gewaschen.
Die gewaschene organische Phase wurde getrocknet, indem sie durch Phasentrennpapier geschickt wurde und wurde
im Anschluß daran vom Lösungsmittel befreit, wobei ein viskoses öl als Rückstand zurückblieb. Der Rückstand wurde der
Chromatographie unterworfen, wobei eine Tonsäule (150 ml) verwendet wurde und Gemische von Ethylacetat und Hexan mit
steigenden Konzentrationen an Ethylacetat als Eluationsmittel. Neun Fraktionen wurden gesammelt. Die Fraktionen sechs und
sieben wurden vereint und vom Lösungsmittel befreit, um das gewünschte Produkt N-Ethyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-y!methyl)-2-/*2-nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trif
luorme thy lphenoxy) phenoxy_7propionamid in Form eines bernsteinfarbenen Gummis zu erhalten.

N-n-Propyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin (1,33 g; 0,0092
Mol), trockenes Toluol (60 ml) und Triethylamin (3,0 ml) wurden in ein mit einem magnetischen Rührer, einem Thermometer
und einem Zugabetrichter ausgerüstetes Glasreaktionsgefäß eingegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde unter einer Stickstoffgasdecke
gehalten und eine Lösung von 2-/2-Nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy/propionylchlorid
(3,9 g; 0,0092 Mol) in Toluol (4 0 ml) wurde tropfenweise unter Rühren
zugesetzt. Eine leicht exotherme Reaktion wurde beobachtet. Nach Beendigung der Zugabe wurde das Rühren bei Raumtemperatur
für eine Zeitdauer von etwa 1,5 Stunden fortgesetzt. Nach dieser Zeit wurde das Reaktionsgemisch in einen Trenntrichter
überführt und wurde mit Wasser und mit verdünnter wäßriger Natriumbicarbonatlösung gewaschen. Die gewaschene Lösung wurde
sodann getrocknet und vom Lösungsmittel befreit, wobei ein viskoses Öl als Rückstand verblieb. Dieser Rückstand wurde
sodann chromatographiert durch Ton unter Verwendung von Ethylacetat-Hexan-Gemischen mit steigenden Konzentrationen
an Ethylacetat als Eluationsmittel. Insgesamt wurden neun Fraktionen gesammelt. Die Fraktionen fünf und sechs wurden
vereint und vom Lösungsmittel befreit, um das gewünschte Produkt N-Propyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)-2-/2-nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy/propionamid
in Form eines bernsteinfarbenen Gummis zu ergeben.
Herstellung von N-Allyl-N- (1 ,3-dioxolan-2-y!methyl) -2-/"2-nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy/propionamid
N-Allyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin (1,32g; 0,0092MoI),
trockenes Toluol (70 ml) und Triethylamin (3,0 ml) wurden in ein mit einem magnetischen Rührer, einem Thermometer, einem
Gaseinlaßrohr und einem Zugabetrichter ausgerüstetes Glasreaktionsgefäß eingegeben. Das Gemisch wurde unter einer
Stickstoffgasdecke gehalten, auf 100C abgekühlt und eine Lösung
von 2-/"2-Nitro-5- (2-chlor-4-trif luormethy!phenoxy)-phenoxy/propionylchlorid
(3,9 g; 0,0092 Mol) in Toluol (40 ml) wurde tropfenweise unter Rühren zugesetzt. Nach Beendigung
der Zugabe wurde das Gemisch auf Raumtemperatur erwärmen gelassen und das Rühren wurde für eine Zeit .von etwa 1,5 Stunden
fortgesetzt. Nach dieser Zeit wurde das Reaktionsgemisch in einen Trenntrichter überführt.und wurde mit Wasser und mit.
wäßriger Natriumbicarbonatlösung gewaschen. Die gewaschene Lösung wurde getrocknet, indem sie durch ein Phasentrennpapier
geschickt wurde. Die getrocknete Lösung wurde sodann durch eine Tonsäule geschickt unter Verwendung von Gemischen aus
Ethylacetat und Hexan als Eluationsmittel. Neun Fraktionen wurden gesammelt. Die Fraktion fünf wurde vom Lösungsmittel
befreit und danach weiter getrocknet, indem der Rückstand unter vermindertem Druck bei 1100C für eine Zeitdauer von
4 Stunden stehengelassen wurde, um das gewünschte Produkt N-Allyl-N-(1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)-2-/2-nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy/propionamid
als ein bernsteinfarbenes Gummi zu ergeben.

Herstellung von N-(4-Methyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-y!methyl) -2-/2-nitro-5-(2,4-dichlorphenoxy)phenoxy7propionamid
N-(4-Methyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin (0,015MoI), Triethylamin
(5 ml) und Methylenchlorid (50 ml) wurden in ein mit einem mechanischen Rührer, einem Thermometer und einem
Zugabetrichter ausgerüstetes Glasreaktionsgefäß eingegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde auf etwa -150C abgekühlt und eine
Lösung von 2-/2-Nitro-5-(2,4-dichlorphenoxy)phenoxy7propionylchlorid
(0,01 Mol) in Methylenchlorid (50 ml) wurde tropfenweise unter Rühren zugegeben. Nach Beendigung der
Zugabe wurde das Reaktionsgemisch auf Raumtemperatur erwärmen gelassen unter fortgesetztem Rühren. Nach dieser Zeit
wurde das Gemisch in einen Trenntrichter überführt und wurde mit Wasser und verdünnter wäßriger Natriumbicarbonatlösung
gewaschen. Die gewaschene Lösung wurde sodann getrocknet, filtriert und vom Lösungsmittel befreit, wobei ein Rückstand
verblieb. Der Rückstand wurde sodann aus einem Gemisch von Toluol und Hexan umkristallisiert, um das gewünschte
Produkt N-(4-Methyl-1 ,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)-2-/*2-nitro-5-(2,4-dichlorphenoxy)
phenoxy_7propionamid zu ergeben.
Herstellung von N-Ethyl-N-(4,5-dimethyl-i,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl) -2-/~2-nitro-5- (2-nitro-4-bromphenoxy) phenoxy7propionamid
N-Ethyl-N-(4,5-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin (0,015
Mol),Triethylamin (5 ml) und Methylenchlorid (50 ml) wurden in ein mit einem mechanischen Rührer, einem Thermometer und
einem Zugabetrichter ausgerüstetes Glasreaktionsgefäß einge-

geben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde auf etwa -15°C abgekühlt und eine Lösung von 2-/*2-Nitro-5- (2-nitro-4-bromphenoxy )-phenoxy7propionylchlorid
(0,01 Mol) in Methylenchlorid (50 ml) wurde tropfenweise unter Rühren zugesetzt. Nach Beendigung
der Zugabe wurde das Reaktionsgemisch auf Raumtemperatur unter fortgesetztem Rühren erwärmen gelassen. Nach dieser
Zeit wurde das Reaktionsgemisch in einen Trenntrichter überführt und wurde mit Wasser und verdünnter wäßriger
Natriumbicarbonatlösung gewaschen. Die gewaschene Lösung wurde sodann getrocknet, filtriert und vom Lösungsmittel befreit,
wobei ein Rückstand zurückblieb. Der Rückstand wurde aus Toluol/Hexan-Gemisch umkristallisiert, um das gewünschte
Produkt N-Ethyl-N-(4,5-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-y!methyl)-2-/*2-nitro-5-(2-nitro-4-bromphenoxy)
phenoxy7propionamid zu ergeben.
Herstellung von N-(1,3-Dioxan-2-ylmethyl)-2-/2-nitro-5-(2-cyano-4-fluorphenoxy)phenoxy7propionamid
N-(1,3-Dioxan-2-ylmethyl)amin (0,015 Mol), Triethylamin
(5 ml) und Methylenchlorid (50 ml) wurden in ein mit einem
mechanischen Rührer, einem Thermometer und einem Zugabetrichter ausgerüstetes Glasreaktionsgefäß eingegeben. Das
Reaktionsgemisch wurde auf etwa -150C abgekühlt und eine Lösung
von 2-/"2-Nitro-5- (2-cyano-4-f luorphenoxy) phenoxy/propionylchlorid
(0,01 Mol) in Methylenchlorid (50 ml) wurde tropfenweise unter Rühren zugesetzt. Nach Beendigung der Zugabe
wurde das Reaktionsgemisch auf Raumtemperatur unter fortgesetztem Rühren erwärmen gelassen. Nach dieser Zeit wurde das
Gemisch in einen Trenntrichter überführt und mit Wasser und mit verdünnter wäßriger Natriumbicarbonatlösung gewaschen.
Die gewaschene Lösung wurde sodann getrocknet, filtriert und

vom Lösungsmittel befreit, wobei ein Rückstand verblieb.
Der Rückstand wurde sodann aus Toluol/Hexan-Gemisch umkristallisiert,
um das gewünschte Produkt N-(1,3-Dioxan-2-ylmethyl)-2-/2-nitro-5-(2-cyano-4-fluorphenoxy)phenoxy/-propionamid
zu ergeben.

Herstellung von· N-(4-Chlor-1,3-dioxolan-2-y!methyl)-2-/2-nitro-5-(4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy/propionamid
N-(4-Chlor-1/3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)amin (0,015 Mol), Triethylamin
(5 ml) und Methylenchlorid (50 ml) wurden in ein mit einem mechanischen Rührer, einem Thermometer und einem
Zugabetrichter ausgerüstetes Glasreaktionsgefäß eingegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde auf etwa -150C abgekühlt und eine
Lösung von 2-/2-Nitro-5-(4-trifluormethylphenoxy)phenoxy/-propionylchlorid
(0,01 Mol) in Methylenchlorid (50 ml) wurde tropfenweise unter Rühren zugegeben. Nach Beendigung der
Zugabe wurde das Reaktionsgemisch auf Raumtemperatur erwärmen gelassen unter fortgesetztem Rühren. Nach dieser Zeit
wurde das Gemisch in einen Trenntrichter überführt und mit Wasser und verdünnter wäßriger Natriumbicarbonatlösung gewaschen.
Die gewaschene Lösung wurde sodann getrocknet, filtriert und vom Lösungsmittel befreit, wobei ein Rückstand
verblieb. Der Rückstand wurde sodann aus Toluol/Hexan-Gemisch umkristallisiert, um das gewünschte Produkt N-(4-Chlor-1,3-dioxolan-2-ylmethyl)

Zur praktischen Verwendung als Herbizide werden die erfindungsgemäßen
Verbindungen im allgemeinen in Herbizid-Zusammensetzungen eingebracht, die einen inerten Träger und eine
herbizid toxische Menge einer derartigen Verbindung enthalten, Derartige Herbizid-Zusammensetzungen, die auch Formulierungen
genannt werden können, ermöglichen die bequeme Aufbringung der aktiven Verbindung auf die Stelle des Unkrautbefalls in
jeder gewünschten Menge. Diese Zusammensetzungen können Feststoffe sein, wie Stäube, Granulate oder benetzbare Pulver,
oder sie können Flüssigkeiten sein, wie Lösungen, Aerosole oder emulgierbare Konzentrate.
Stäube können beispielsweise hergestellt werden durch Vermählen
und Vermischen der aktiven Verbindung mit einem festen inerten Träger, wie Talke, Tone, Silica-Materialien, Pyrophyllit
und ähnlichen. Granuläre Formulierungen können hergestellt werden durch Imprägnierung der Verbindung, die üblicherweise
in einem geeigneten Lösungsmittel gelöst ist, auf und in die granulierten Träger, wie die Attapulgite oder
Vermiculite, die üblicherweise eine Teilchengröße im Bereich von etwa 0,3 bis 1,5 mm aufweisen. Benetzbare Pulver, die
in Wasser oder öl zu jeder gewünschten Konzentration der aktiven Verbindung dispergiert werden können, können durch
Einbringung von Netzmitteln in konzentrierte Staubzusammensetzungen hergestellt werden.
In einigen Fällen sind die aktiven Verbindungen hinreichend löslich in üblichen organischen Lösungsmitteln, wie Kerosin
oder Xylol, so daß sie direkt als Lösungen in diesen Lösungsmitteln verwendet werden können. Häufig können Lösungen von
Herbiziden unter überatmosphärischem Druck als Aerosole

dispergiert werden. Bevorzugte flüssige Herbizid-Zusammensetzungen
sind jedoch emulgierbare Konzentrate, welche eine aktive Verbindung gemäß der Erfindung enthalten und als den
inerten Träger ein Lösungsmittel und ein Emulgiermittel. Derartige emulgierbare Konzentrate können mit Wasser und/oder
öl zu jeder gewünschten Konzentration der aktiven Verbindung zur Aufbringung als Sprays auf die Stelle des Unkrautbefalls
verdünnt werden. Die in diesen Konzentraten üblicherweise verwendeten Emulgatoren sind nicht-ionisch oder Gemische von
nicht-ionischen Mitteln mit anionischen oberflächenaktiven Mitteln. Unter Verwendung von einigen Emulgatorsystemen kann
eine umgekehrte Emulsion (Wasser-in-Öl) für die direkte Auftragung
auf von Unkraut befallene Stellen hergestellt werden.
Eine typische Herbizid-Zusammensetzung gemäß der Erfindung ist in dem nachfolgenden Beispiel erläutert, worin die Mengen
Gewichts.teile darstellen.
Herstellung eines Staubs
Produkt gemäß Beispiel 2 10 pulverisierter Talk 90
Die oben angegebenen Bestandteile werden in einem mechanischen Mahl/Mischwerk vermischt und werden vermählen, bis ein
homogener, schüttfähiger Staub der gewünschten Teilchengröße erhalten ist. Dieser Staub ist für die direkte Aufbringung
auf die Stelle des Unkrautbefalls geeignet.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen können als Herbizide in jeder dem Fachmann bekannten Art aufgebracht werden. Ein

Verfahren zur Unkrautbekämpfung umfaßt die Berührung der Wuchsstelle des Unkrauts mit einer Herbizid-Zusammensetzung,
die einen inerten Träger enthält und als einen wesentlichen aktiven Bestandteil, in einer Menge, die herbizid toxisch
gegenüber den Unkräutern wirkt, eine erfindungsgemäße Verbindung. Die Konzentration der neuen erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen
in den Herbizid-Zusammensetzungen variiert in weitem Maße mit der Art der Formulierung und dem Zweck, für welchen
sie hergestellt ist, jedoch enthalten allgemein die Herbizid-Zusammensetzungen von etwa 0,05 bis etwa 95 Gew.-%
der aktiven Verbindungen gemäß der Erfindung. In einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung enthalten die Herbizid-Zusammensetzungen
von etwa 5 bis etwa 75 Gew.-% der aktiven Verbindung. Die Zusammensetzungen können auch derartige zusätzliche
Substanzen umfassen, wie andere Pestizide, wie Insektizide, Nematozide, Fungizide und ähnliche, Stabilisatoren,
Netzmittel, Desaktivatoren, Haftmittel, Haftstoffe, Düngemittel, Aktivatoren, Synergisten und ähnliche.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen sind auch geeignet in der
Kombination mit anderen Herbiziden und/oder Entlaubungsmitteln, Austrocknungsmitteln (dessicants), Wachsturnsinhibitoren
und ähnlichen Verbindungen, die in bislang bekannten Herbizid-Zusammensetzungen beschrieben sind. Diese anderen
Materialien können etwa 5 bis etwa 95 % der aktiven Bestandteile in den Herbizid-Zusammensetzungen einnehmen. Die Verwendung
von Kombinationen dieser anderen Herbizide und/oder Entlaubungsmittel, Austrocknungsmittel, usw. mit den Verbindungen
gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung schaffen Herbizid-Zusammensetzungen, die bei der Unkrautbekämpfung wirksamer
sind und häufig Ergebnisse liefern, die mit getrennten Zusammensetzungen der individuellen Herbizide nicht erreichbar
sind. Die anderen Herbizide, Entlaubungsmittel, Trocknungsmittel und Pflanzenwachstums-Inhibitoren, mit denen die er-

Stammverbindungen gewonnen werden können/ verwendet werden.
Unkräuter sind unerwünschte Pflanzen, die dort wachsen, wo sie nicht gewünscht werden, besitzen keinen ökonomischen
Wert und stören die Produktion von Kulturpflanzen, das Wachstum von Zierpflanzen oder die Aufzucht von Tierhaltungen.
Viele Arten von Unkräutern sind bekannt, einschließlich der Einjahrespflanzen, wie Amarant (pigweed), weißer Gänsefuß

In ähnlicher Weise können derartige Unkräuter als breitblättrige oder grasartige Unkräuter klassifiziert werden.
Es ist ökonomisch wünschenswert, das Wachstum derartiger Unkräuter zu bekämpfen ohne vorteilhafte Pflanzen oder Tierhaltungen
zu schädigen.
Die erfindungsgemaßen neuen Verbindungen sind besonders
wertvolle Mittel zur Unkrautbekämpfung, da sie gegenüber vielen Spezies und Gruppen von Unkräutern toxisch sind, während
sie relativ nicht-tbxisch gegenüber wertvollen Pflanzen sind. Die genaue Menge der Verbindung, die benötigt wird,

hängt von einer Anzahl von Faktoren ab, einschließlich der Härte der speziellen Unkräuter-Spezies, des Wetters, der
Art des Bodens, der Methode der Auftragung, der Art der wertvollen Pflanzen in dem gleichen Bereich und von ähnlichen
Faktoren. Während die Aufbringung der aktiven Verbindung in einer Menge von bis zu lediglich etwa 28,35 g oder
56,70 g pro 4050 m2 (1 bis 2 ounces per acre) für die gute Bekämpfung eines leichten Unkrautbefalls hinreichend
sein kann, wenn die Unkräuter unter schlechten Bedingungen wachsen, kann die Auftragung von 4,54 kg oder mehr (ten

widerstandsfähiger perennierender Unkräuter, die unter günstigen Bedingungen wachsen, erforderlich sein.
Die herbizide Toxizität der erfindungsgemäßen neuen Verbindungen
kann durch viele eingeführte Testtechniken, die dem Fachmann bekannt sind, erläutert werden, wie durch Vorlauf-
und Nachlauf-Test (pre- and post-emergence testing).
Die Herbizid-Aktivität der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen
wurde anhand von Experimenten demonstriert, die für die Vorlaufkontrolle einer Vielfalt von Unkräutern durchgeführt wurden.
In diesen Experimenten wurden kleine Kunststoff-Gewächshausschalen,
die mit trockener Erde gefüllt waren, mit verschiedenen Unkrautsamen besät. 24 Stunden oder weniger nach
der Aussaat wurden die Schalen mit Wasser besprüht, bis der Boden naß war( und die Testverbindungen, die als wäßrige
Emulsionen von Aceton-Lösungen mit Emulgatoren formuliert waren, wurden in den angegebenen Konzentrationen auf die Oberfläche
des Bodens aufgesprüht.
Nach dem Aufsprühen wurden die Erdbehälter in das Gewächs-

haus gesetzt und in erforderlichem Maße mit zusätzlicher Wärme versorgt und täglich oder häufiger bewässert. Die
Pflanzen wurden unter diesen Bedingungen für eine Zeit von 15 bis 21 Tagen gehalten, wonach der Zustand der Pflanzen
und das Ausmaß der Schädigung der Pflanzen unter Zugrundelegung einer Bewertungsskala von 0 bis 10, wie folgt gemessen
wurde: 0 = keine Schädigung, 1,2= leichte Schädigung, 3, 4 = mäßige Schädigung, 5, 6 = mäßig schwere Schädigung,
7, 8, 9 = schwere Schädigung, 10 = Absterben t und NE zeigt an,
daß kein Durchtritt erfolgte. Die Wirksamkeit der Verbindungen wird durch die nachfolgenden Zahlenangaben, die in Tabelle
I zusammengefaßt sind, demonstriert. Zahlenangaben mit Dezimalstellen sind das Ergebnis von Durchschnittsermittlungen
aus zwei oder mehr Bewertungen, die aus wiederholten Experimenten erhalten wurden.
Die Herbizid-Aktivität der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen wurde ebenfalls durch Experimente demonstriert, die zur
Nachlauf-Bekämpfung (post-emergence control) einer Anzahl von Unkräutern durchgeführt wurden. In diesen Experimenten
wurden die zu untersuchenden Verbindungen in wäßrigen Emulsionen formuliert und in der angegebenen Dosierung auf das
Blattwerk der verschiedenen Unkrautspezies, die eine vorgeschriebene Größe erreicht hatten, aufgesprüht. Nach dem Besprühen
wurden die Pflanzen in ein Gewächshaus gegeben und täglich oder häufiger bewässert. Es wurde kein Wasser auf
das Blattwerk der behandelten Pflanzen aufgebracht. Die Schwere der Schädigung wurde 10 bis 15 Tage nach der Behandlung
ermittelt und wurde anhand der zuvor beschriebenen Skala mit 0 bis 10 bewertet. Die Wirksamkeit dieser Verbindungen
wird durch die nachstehenden Zahlenangaben, die in Tabelle II zusammengefaßt sind, demonstriert. Werte mit
Dezimalstellen sind wiederum das Ergebnis der Durchschnittsbildung bei wiederholten Experimenten.

- 10. Verfahren zur Unkrautbekämpfung, dadurch gekennzeichnet , daß die Unkräuter oder der Boden, auf dem die Unkräuter wachsen, mit einer Herbizid-Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 9 in Berührung gebracht wird.
