Es sind zahlreiche Mittel und Behandlungsverfahren bekannt,
die dazu geeignet sind, Textilien und thermoplastischen, hitzehörtbaren oder elastomeren Kunstharzen flammhemmende
Eigenschaften zu verleihen. Flammwidrige Textilien können z.B. dadurch hergestellt werden, daß man Metalloxide in
oder auf den Textilfasern abscheidet oder Eisenoxide und ein Gemisch aus Wolframsäure und Zinnoxid bzw. Antimontrichlorid
und Titandioxid auf dem Textilgut niederschlägt.' Derartige Verfahren erfordern jedoch mehrere Behandlungsbäder, in denen stark saure Lösungen angewandt werden, so
daß die Gefahr eines möglichen Abbaus der Textilien besteht. Außerdem führen Metalloxid-Beschichtungen auf dem Textilgut
zu Schwierigkeiten in anschließenden Färbeverfahren und beeinträchtigen
darüber hinaus den Griff des ausgerüsteten Produkts.
In einem weiteren bekannten Verfahren, das lediglich ein einziges Behandlungsbad vorsieht, wird das Textilgut mit einer

Dispersion von fein verteiltem'Antimonoxid in chlorierten
Kohlenwasserstoffen geklotzt". Nahe der Verbrennungstemperatur der Textilien reagiert der beim Abbau des chlorierten
Kohlenwasserstoffs freigesetzte Chlorwasserstoff mit Antimonoxid zu Antimonoxychlorid, das seinerseits die Flamme zum
Verlöschen bringt. Eine derartige Kombination von chlorierten Kohlenwasserstoffen und fein verteiltem Antimonoxid ist
jedoch zum Ausrüsten von dicht gewobenen Textilien wenig geeignet, da sie den Griff des Fertigprodukts beeinträchtigt.
Zum Flammfestmachen von Zellulosestoffen ist es bekannt, die Zellulose mit Diammoniumhydrogenorthophosphat zu verestern.
Derartige Textilien treten jedoch beim Waschvorgang mit den vorhandenen Kationen in Wechselwirkung und müssen daher anschließend
mit Ammoniumchloridlösung regeneriert werden.
Thermoplastische, hitzehärtbare und elastomere Kunstharzmassen mit flammhemmenden Eigenschaften bzw. die daraus durch Gießen,
Formen, Schäumen oder Laminieren hergestellten Produkte sind aufgrund ihrer Flammwidrigkeit und Hitzebeständigkeit von
steigender technischer Bedeutung. Zahlreiche Handelsprodukte sind für diesen Anwendungsbereich erbäUpieh, z.B. Chlorstyrol-Copolymerisate,
chloriertes Paraffinwachs im Gemisch mit Triphenylstyrol, chlorierte Paraffine /und aliphatisehe Antimonverbindungen
sowie Gemische aus 'Antimonoxid und chlorierten Kohlenwasserstoffen. Derartige Flammschutzmittel haben jedoch
im allgemeinen den Nachteil, daß sie nur bei Anwendung großer Mengen (bis zu 35 fj) die gewünschten flammhemmenden Eigenschaften
hervorrufen. Derart große Zusatzmengen beeinträchtigen jedoch die physikalischen Eigenschaften der thermoplastischen
Harze und machen deren Herstellung umständlich und kostspielig. Ein weiteres Problem besteht darin, daß bekannte
Flammschutzmittel nach relativ kurzer Zeit zum Auskristallisieren oder Ausschwimmen aus dem Kunstharz-neigen.

Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es daher, neue Flammschutzmittel
für Textilien und thermoplastische, hitzehärtbare oder
elastomere Kunstharze zu schaffen, die bereits in relativ kleinen Mengen zufriedenstellende flammhemmende Eigenschaften
verleihen und nicht zum Auskristallisieren oder ^Aufschwimmen aus den Kunstharzen neigen*
Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe sind die in Anspruch 1 definierten Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I geeignet.
In bevorzugten Verbindungen der Erfindung ist R eine Phenylgruppe,
einAUylrest oder ein gegebenenfalls chlorierter Alkylrest und X ein Chlor- oder Brotnatom bzw. eine Methylgruppe.

in einem geeigneten Lösungsmittel oder unter Anwendung von überschüssigem Phosphit umsetzt. Üblicherweise erfolgt die
Umsetzung etwa 1 bis 12 Stunden bei etwa 50 bis l6o°C,
vorzugsweise etwa 3 bis 6 Stunden bei etv/a 80 bis 120 C.
Anschließend destilliert man das Lösungsmittel und die anderen flüchtigen Bestandteile ab oder trennt sie auf
andere V/eise vom gewünschten Produkt. Geeignete ^Lösungsmittel sind z.B. Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, Äthylenglykoläther,
Dimethylformamid und aliphatische bzw. aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe.

Zum Flammfest a usrüsten von Textilien werden eine oder
mehrere Verbindungen der Erfindung nach üblichen Ausrüstverfahren,
z.B. durch thermisches Klotzaufziehen, auf
das Textilgut aufgebracht. Die Verbindungen der Erfindung haben gegenüber bekannten Flammschutzmitteln den Vorteil,
daß sie sich für zahlreiche Textilien verschiedener chemischer Zusammensetzung und für die -verschiedensten
Anwendungsνerfahren eignen. Sie können sowohl auf die Faser
als auch auf das Gewebe aufgebracht werden, ohne daß die physikalischen Eigenschaften, die Qualität und der Griff
des Textilmaterial merklich verändert werden.
Textilien auf Zellulosebasis lassen sich auf verschiedene
Weise haltbar flammwidrig machen. Z.B. kann man-die Verbindungen
der Erfindung mit Formaldehyd zu N-Hydroxymethylderivaten
umsetzen, die ihrerseits mit den Zellulosematerialien auf bekannte Weise reagieren. Zellulosesubstrate können
Jedoch auch in einem Trocken-Klotz-Verfahren mit-wässrigen
Gemischen der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen, Formaldehyd, Harnstoff, Trimethylolmelamin oder anderen bekannten
Vernetzungsmitteln für Zellulose in Gegenwart eines sauren Katalysators behandelt werden.
Vorzugsweise werden die durch Kondensation mit Formaldehyd
hergestellten N-Hydroxymethylderivate der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen in einem wässrigen Medium mit Trimethylolmelamin
und einem. Lewissäure-Katalysator, wie Arnmoniumchlorid oder Zinknitrat-hexahydrat, vermischt. Die Zellulosematerialien
werden in das Klotzbad getaucht und hierauf rai-t*Hilfe
eines Zweiwalzen-Foulards bis zu einer Flüssigkeitsaufnahme von 70 bis 90 % abgepreßt. Anschließend wird das Textilgut
in einem Umluftofen 1 bis 3 Minuten bei 104 bis 1320C getrocknet
sowie 1 bis 6 Minuten bei ΙΛ9 bis 183°C thermisch

nachbehandelt. Nach dem Waschen mit heißem Wasser und Trocknen weisen die ausgerüsteten Proben etwa 5 "bis 2K) Gexvichtsprozent,
vorzugsweise etwa 10 bis 25 Gewichtsprozent, Flammschutzmittel auf.
Die Flammschutzmittel der Erfindung eignen sich zum Flammfestausrüsten
verschiedener Textilien, z.B. von Textilgut aus Zellulose- und/oder Eiweißstoffen bzw. analogen Kunstfasern.
Unter Zellulosestoffen werden Baumwolle, Reyon, Papier,
regenerierte Zellulose und Zellulosederivate mit mindestens einer Hydroxylgruppe pro Glucoseeinheit im Zellulosegerüst
verstanden. Unter Eiweißstoffen sind Textilmaterialien mit funktioneilen Proteingruppen zu verstehen, z.B. die verschiedenen
Tierwollen,-haare und -pelze.
Thermoplastische, hitzehärtbare und elastomere Kunstharze
können auf beliebige Weise mit den Flammschutzmitteln der Erfindung verarbeitet werden. Z.B. kann man das Kunstharz
mit dem Flammschutzmittel in einem Zweiwalzenstuhl oder einem Banbury-Mischer vermählen oder aber man formt bzw. extrudiert
das Kunstharz zusammen mit dem Flammschutzmittel. Auch kann das pulverförmige Kunstharz mit den Flammschutzmitteln
vermengt und hierauf zu Formkörpern verarbeitet werden. Schließlich kann das Flammschutzmittel während der Kunstharzher
st ellung, d.h. während der Polymerisation, zugesetzt werden, vorausgesetzt, daß sich die Katalysatoren und die
anderen Bestandteile des Polymerisationssystems inert verhalten. Im allgemeinen enthalten thermoplastische Kunstharze,
bezogen auf das Polymer - Gewicht, etwa 5 bis 50 Gewichtsprozent,
vorzugsweise etwa 20 bis 40 Gewichtsprozent, Flammschutzmittel.
Der Begriff Kunstharze umfaßt z.B. die Homo- und Copolymerisate ungesättigter aliphatischer, alicyclischer und aromatischer
Kohlenwasserstoffe. Geeignete Monomere sind z.B. Äthylen,

Die Polymerisate der Erfindung können in verschiedener Form vorliegen, z.B. als Formkörper, Preßkörper, Platten oder
Stäbe, Fasern, Überzüge, Filme oder Gewebe.
Die Verbindungen der Erfindung eignen sich insbesondere zum Flammfestmachen von ABS-Harzen und Elastomeren, Kunststoffen
wie Acrylkautschuk, Acrylnitril-Butadien-Styrol-Terpolymerisaten,
Butadien-Acrylnitril-Copolymerisaten, Butylkautschuk, chlorierten Kautschuken, wie Polyvinylchloridharzen, Chloroprenkautschuk,
chlorsulfoniertem Polyäthylen, Äthylenpolymerisaten, wie A'thylen-Propylen-Copolymerisaten und Ä'thylen-Propylen-Terpolymerisäten,
fluorierten Kautschuken, Butadienkautschuken, z.B. Styrol-Butadien-Kautschuk, Isobutylen-Kautschuk,
Isobutylenpolymerisaten, Polybutadienpolymerisaten, Polyisobutylenkautschuken, Polyisoprenkautschuken, Polysulfidkautschuken,
Siliconkautschuken, Urethankautschuken, hochpolymeren Styrol-Latices, hochpolymeren Styrolharzen, Vinylharzen
und Schaumgummi.

Die Kunstharze können außerdem Weichmacher, Farbstoffe,
Pigmente, Stabilisatoren, Antioxidations- und Antistatikmittel
sowie andere übliche Zusätze enthalten.
Zur Bestimmung der relativen Entflammbarkeit selbsttragender
Kunststoffe wird in den nachstehenden Beispielen nach der ASTM-Prüfnorm' D2863-70 verfahren, bei der man die zur Aufrecht
erhaltung der Verbrennung in einem aufwärts strömenden
Sauerstoff/Stickstoff-Gemisch erforderliche Mindest-Sauerstoffkonzentration
ermittelt. Hierzu werden zylindrische Prüfkörper der Ausmaße 70 bis 150 mm χ 8,0 mm senkrecht
in einem Glasrohr angeordnet, in dem ein geregelter Sauerstoff/Stickstof.f-Gasstrom
nach oben strömt. Man entzündet das obere Ende des Prüfkörpers und stellt den Sauerstoffstrom
auf die Mindestgeschwindigkeit ein, die erforderlich ist,'
damit der Prüfkörper vor Ablauf von 3 Minuten bzw. .-vor
Erreichen einer Brennstrecke von 50 mm verlöscht. Der Sauer-,
stoffindex η errechnet sich dann nach folgender Formel:

in der Op den Sauerstoff-Volumenstrom bei der ermittelten
Mindestgeschwindigkeit und N2 den entsprechenden Stickstoff-Volumenstrom
bedeuten.
Zum Vergleich der Brenngeschwindigkeiten, der Selbstverlö-s chungs ei genschaft en und der Brennbarkeit von Kunststoffplatten^-stäben,
-scheiben und -verkleidungen dient in den nachfolgenden Beispielen eine Abwandlung de» ASTM-Prüfnorm
D635-68. Es werden zunächst Prüfkörper der Ausmaße 150 bis 200 mm χ 8 mm mit bzw. ohne Flammschutzmittel
hergestellt. Jede Probe wird 2,54 cm und 10, l6 cm von den
Enden entfernt markiert und zweimal für je 30 Sekunden ■
mit einem Neigungswinkel.von 45 in eine geregelte Brennerflamme
von 2,54 cm Länge gehalten. Anhand der Flammenfort-

pflänzling zwischen den beiden Markierungslinien werden die
Brenngesehwindigkeit, die Brennbarkeit und die Selbstverlösehungseigenschaften
ermittelt. Eine Probe wird als selbstverlöschend (SV) bezeichnet, wenn die Flamme über
die erste Markierungslinie hinwegbrennt, jedoch vor Erreichen der zweiten Markierungslinie verlöscht. Eine Probe
wird als nicht brennbar (NB) bezeichnet, wenn sie vor Erreichen der ersten Markierungslinie verlöscht.
Schließlich kommt in den nachfolgenden Beispielen ein Vertikal-Verkohlungstest gemäß der AATCC-Prüfnorm 34-I969
zur Anwendung, bei dem 7 x 25*4 cm große Gewebeproben
unter genormten Bedingungen 12,0 bis-3*0 Sekunden einer
geregelten Brennerflamme ausgesetzt werden. Die verkohlten Proben werden hierauf einer genormten Reißfestigkeitsprüfung
unterzogen, bei der mit Hilfe von GewichtsSätzen die
der Verkohlungss.trecke des Gewebes entsprechende mittlere Zerreißlänge bestimmt wird. Vollständig verbrennende Proben
werden hierbei mit (B), nicht brennbare Proben mit (NB), bezeichnet. Nicht behandelte Vergleichsgewebeproben verbrennen
unter den angewandten Bedingungen vollständig.
In den nachstehenden Beispielen wird, falls nicht anders angegeben, folgendermaßen verfahren: Die Gewebeproben
werden in einem Standard-Zweiwalzen-Poulard bei 4,2 atü
geklotzt. Die Trocknung und thermische Nachbehandlung erfolgt in einem Standard-Laboratorium-Umluftofen für
Textilien. Zum waschen und Trocknen dient ein Standard-Waschautomat
mit Trockentrommel. Zum Auskochen wird eine Wring-Waschmaschine mit eingebauten Dampfschlangen (Hooker
Boil) verwendet. Die zu behandelnden Proben werden darin 45 Minuten bei Temperaturen von etwa 93 bis 99 C in einer
Lösung gewaschen und bewegt, die 39*9 kg V/asser, 100 g
Natriumcarbonat, 100 g 'Ivory'-Seife und 10 g 'Tide'-Waschmittel
enthält. Hierauf läßt man die Waschlösung abfließen

preßt die Probe ira Wringer ab und wäscht nochmals unter Rühren 15 Minuten bei etwa 60 bis 71°C in etwa 40 kg Wasser.

Ein Gemisch aus βθ,3 g Triallylphosphit und 22,4 g N,NT-Bis-hydroxymethylterephthalamid
wird etwa 6 Stunden auf etwa 1350 C erhitzt. Anschließend werden die flüchtigen Bestandteile
bei 1000C und 1 Torr abgetrennt, wobei 62,0 g
einer gelben Flüssigkeit zurückbleiben, die anhand der
Spektren und der Elementaranälyse als die gewünschte Verbindung
identifiziert wird.

40 Teile N-Dimethylphosphonornethyl~2,4-dlchlorbenzamid
und 60 Teile Polypropylen werden etwa 5 Minuten trocken
vermischt. Das Gemisch wird dann geschmolzen und nochmals etwa 15 Minuten gründlich durchmischt. Anschließend läßt man
die Masse auf Raumtemperatur abkühlen und schneidet sie in kleine Stückchen, die langsam in ein Glasrohr von 9 ram
Durchmesser gegeben werden, das in einem Metallbad auf Temperaturen oberhalb des Schmelzpunkts der Kunststoffmasse
gehalten wird. Man gibt solange Stücke der Kunststoffmasse zu, bis die Schmelze eine Höhe von etwa 200 mm erreicht.
Hierauf führt man einen beschwerten Metallstab in das Glasrohr ein und verfestigt die Masse durch Abkühlen des Rohrs.
Die aus dem Rohr entnommene Kunstharzmasse wird dann gemäß den ASTM-PrUfnormen D2863-7O und D635-68 geprüft. Die erzielten
Ergebnisse sind in Tabelle I zusammengestellt.

stellt man den pH-Wert mit Salzsäure auf 7,0 ein und
versetzt mit j5j 1 g Ammoniumchlorid sowie l4,0. g einer
50prozentigen Lösung von Methylolmelamin. Man taucht 169,5
g/m Baumwoll-Leinen in die erhaltene Lösung und preßt das Tuch mit Hilfe eines Zweiwalzen-Foulards bei 4,2 atü bis
zu einer Flüssigkeitsaufnähme von etwa 90 % ab. Anschließend
wird das Leinen in einem Umluftofen etwa 2 Minuten bei etwa
121°C getrocknet und etwa 5 Minuten bei etwa 171°C thermisch nachbehandelt. Nach etwa 5minütigem Waschen von Hand mit
'Tide' als Waschmittel und dem Trocknen in einer Trommel
läßt sich eine Appretur auf nähme von 23,7 % errechnen. Das
ausgerüstete Leinen wird dann nach der ASTM-Prüfnorm D2863-70 und der AATCC-Prüfnorm 24-1969 auf seine Flammwidrigkeit
geprüft, wobei die in Tabelle II aufgeführten Ergebnisse erzielt werden. Nach weiteren 4 Waschen von Hand wird das
Baumwoll-Leinen nochmals gemäß der AATCC-Prüfnorm 24-I969
geprüft.

Gemäß Beispiel 30 wird I69,5 g/m Baumwoll-Leinen mit verschiedenen
Verbindungen behandelt und gemäß der ASTM-PrUfnorm
D2863-70 sowie AATCC-Prüfnorm 34-1909 auf seine Flammwidrigkeit
geprüft. Die erzielten Ergebnisse sind in Tabelle II zusammengestellt.

Reyon-Stapelfasern Werden in die Lösung aus Beispiel 30
getaucht und mit Hilfe eines Laboratorium-Zweiwalzen-Foulards

bei etwa 4,2 atü bis zu einer Flüssigkeitsaufnahme von etwa 100 $ abgepreßt. Die Faser wird dann in einem Umluftofen
etwa 3 Minuten bei 1210C getrocknet und etwa
10 Minuten bei etwa 177 C thermisch nachbehandelt. Nach
etwa 5minütiger Wäsche von Hand mit einer heißen 'Tide'-Waschrnittellösung
und Trocknen in einem Umluftofen ist ein Appreturgehalt von etwa 1-3*8 % feststellbar. Die
Flammwidrigkeit der Faser wird dadurch geprüft, daß man
ein Ende der ausgerüsteten Probe etwa 2 Sekunden in eine Bunsen-Flamme hält und nach dem Entfernen aus der Flamme
beobachtet. Die behandelten Proben verlöschen sofort, während nicht behandelte Proben vollständig verbrennen.
Die Haltbarkeit wird nach 5 Waschdurchgängen in einem
Waschautomaten mit 'Tide' als Waschmittel bestimmt. Die
nach dieser Behandlung erzielten Ergebnisse der Entflammbarkeitsprüfung sind ebenfalls in Tabelle II angegeben.
Beispiele 35 - 3°"
Gemäß Beispiel 34 wird eine Reyon-Stapelfaser mit verschiedenen
Flammschutzmitteln behandelt und gemäß der ASTM-Prüfnorm
D2863-70 und der AATCC-Prüfnorm 34-1969 auf ihre
Entflammbarkeit untersucht. Die Ergebnisse sind in Tabelle II zusammengestellt.
19 g N-Diallylphosphonomethyl-p-toluamid werden mit 28,5 S
einer 40prozentigen Formalinlösung vermischt und 16 bis
Stunden bei einem pH-Wert von 10 gerührt. Anschließend stellt man den pH-V/ert mit Salzsäure auf 7>0 ein und versetzt
mit 2,4 g Ammoniumchlorid sowie 10,9 S einer 50p**ozentigen

Ein 203,4 g/m Wollgewebe wird in die erhaltene Lösung getaucht
und mit Hilfe eines Laboratorium-Zweiwalzen-Foulards
Ms zu einer Plussigkeifcsaufnähme von etwa 100 fo abgepreßt.
Anschließend trocknet man das Gewebe in einem Umluftofen
etX'ia 2 Minuten bei etwa 1210C und unterzieht es etwa 5 Minuten
bei etwa 177°C einer thermischen Nachbehandlung. Die
Wolle wird dann mit 'Tidef einmal in einem Waschautomaten
gewaschen und in einer Trommel getrocknet. Die Appreturmenge beträgt 25,3 /£· Die behandelte Wolle wird gemäß der
ASTM-Prüfnorm D2863-70 und der AATCC-Prüfnorm 3^-1969 auf
ihre Plamrnwidrigkeit geprüft» Anschließend wird die Wolle
weiteren 4 Waschzyklen in einem Waschautomaten unterzogen und nochmals gemäß der AÄTCC-Prüfnorm 3^-1969 untersucht.
Die erzielten Ergebnisse sind in Tabelle II zusammengestellt.

0,5 Mol N-Hydroxymethylformamid werden in -einem Dreihalskolben, der mit Thermometer, Magnetrührer und einem mit
Ablauf versehenen Rückflußkühler ausgerüstet ist, mit 0,5 Mol Trimethylphosphit vermischt. Man erwärmt das Gemisch
langsam auf etwa 10O0C und fängt etwa 2 Stunden das
Destillat auf, das durch IR- Spektren als Methanol identifiziert wird. Sobald kein Destillat mehr übergeht, .wird
das Reaktionsgemisch auf etwa 12O0C erhitzt und etwa 30
Minuten bei dieser Temperatur gehalten. Dann engt man etwa 1 Stunde bei etwa 8O0C und 5 Torr in einem Rotationsverdampfer
ein und trennt so die flüchtigen Bestandteile ab. Hierbei bleibt N-Dimethylphosphonomethylformamid in 98-prozentiger
Ausbeute zurück. -

Ein 500 ml fassender Rundkolben 'wird mit "8-1,9 g (0,70 Mol)
N-Hydroxymethylbutyramid und 124 g (1,0 Mol) Trimethylphosphit
beschickt. Das Gemisch wird unter Rückfluß gekocht und etwa 6 Stunden bei dieser Temperatur gehalten. Nach dem
Abkühlen trennt man die flüchtigen Bestandteile bei 1000C
und 2 Torr ab, wobei praktisch reines N-Dime thy lphosphonomethylbutyramid
in 7ö,7prozentiger Ausbeute zurückbleibt, das durch IR- und NMR-Spektren identifiziert wird.

Ein mit Rückflußkühler, Rührer und Thermometer ausgerüsteter Kolben wird mit 88 g (0,5 Mol) N-N'-Bis-hydroxymethylsuceinamid
und 186 g (1,5 Mol) Trimethylphosphit beschickt. Man kocht
das Gemisch etwa 4 Stunden bei etwa 92 C unter Rückfluß,
versetzt hierauf mit 100 ml Toluol und kocht weitere 25
Stunden unter Rückfluß. Das Reaktionsgemiseh wird dann abgekühlt
und durch Zugabe von 500 ml Aceton verfestigt. Durch Filtrieren erhält man 12 g eines Peststoffs (F.236-245°C),
der durch IR- und NMR-Spektren als Succinamid identifiziert wird. Man engt das Piltrat bei 700C und 10 Torr
ein, wobei l82g einer bernsteinfarbenen Flüssigkeit zurückbleiben,
die durch Destillation unter vermindertem Druck von überschüssigem Trimethylphosphit befreit wird. Hierbei
erhält man 144 g der bernsteinfarbenen Flüssigkeit, die durch Elementaranalyse und IR- sowie NMR-Spektren als
N,N'-Bis-dimethylphosphonomethyI-succinamid identifiziert
wird.

2,0 Mol Trimethylphosphit werden in einem 1 Liter fassenden,
mit Thermometer, Rührer, Destillationsbrücke und RüekfluJßkühler
ausgerüsteten Kolben mit 1,0 Mol N-Hydroxymethyl-3-dimethylphosphonopropionamid
vermischt und etwa 2 Stunden unter Rückfluß gekocht. Man fängt ein Gemisch aus Methanol
und Trimethylphosphit als Destillat auf und gibt eine äquivalente Volumenmenge Trimethylphosphit innerhalb der zweiten
Stunde zu. Nach Ablauf dieser Zeitspanne ist im Destillat kein Methanol mehr nachweisbar und man trennt überschüssiges
Phosphit unter vermindertem Druck ab. Hierbei'wird in
95prozentiger Ausbeute ein klares viskoses öl. erhalten, das
durch Elementaranalyse und IR-Spektren als N-Dimethylphosphonomethyl-3-dimethylphosphonopropionamid
identifiziert wird.

Ein 500 ml fassender Rundkolben wird mit 124 g (1,0 Mol)
Trimethylphosphit beschickt und auf 1000C erhitzt. Hierauf
versetzt man innerhalb von 10 Minuten mit 132 g (0,8 Mol)
N-Hydroxymethylphenylacetamid, hält das Reaktionsgemisch
etwa 6 Stunden bei etwa 96 C, kühlt ab und filtriert. Beim Einengen bei 1000C und 0,25 Torr wird in 64prozentiger Ausbeute
ein blaßgelbes Öl erhalten, das durch Elementaranalyse sowie IR- und NMR-Spektren als die gewünschte Verbindung
identifiziert wird.

Ein Gemisch aus 0,2 Mol Tris-2-chloräthylphosphit und
0,1 Mol Ν,Ν'-Bis-hydroxymethylsuccinamid wird in einem
Rundkolben etwa 6 Stunden auf etwa 1300C erhitzt. Hierauf
destilliert man die flüchtigen Bestandteile bei 1000C und 2 Torr ab, wobei 43 g N,N'-Bis-(2-chloräthyl)-phosphonomethylsuccinamid
als braunes Wachs erhalten werden.

Teile Polystyrol werden etwa 5 Minuten trocken gemischt,

hierauf geschmolzen und nochmals etwa 15 Minuten gründlich
durchmischt« "Anschließend kühlt man die Masse ab und schneidet sie in kleine Stücke, die in einem Zylinder
der Ausmaße 200 χ 8 mm geschmolzen und anschließend nach
den ASTM-Prüfnormen D286>-70 und D635-68 geprüft werden.
Die Ergebnisse sind in Tabelle III zusammengestellt. ;

Gemäß Beispiel 50 werden verschiedene Kunststoffmassen
mit verschiedenen Flammschutzmitteln hergestellt und geprüft. Die Ergebnisse sind in Tabelle III zusammengestellt.

Baumwoll-Leinen wird, in einer Lösung aus 30
Teilen K-Dimethylphosphonomethyl-^-dimethylphosphonopropionämid,
10 Teilen Triroethylolmelamin, 30 Teilen einer 40prozentigen
Formalinlösung,-. 25 Teilen Wasser und 5 Teilen
Zinknitrat-hexahydrat geklotzt« Hierauf preßt man das Leinen
mit Hilfe eines Laboratorium-Zweiwalzen-Foulards bis zu
einer Flüssigkeitsaufnahme von 80 % ab, trocknet es in
einem Umluftqfen etwa 2 Minuten bei-etwa. 1210C und unterzieht
es etwa 4 Minuten bei etwa 171 C einer thermischen
Nachbehandlung. Anschließend wird das Leinen einmal in einem Waschautomaten mit !Tidef als Waschmittel gewaschen
und in einer Trommel getrocknet* Die Appreturaufnahme beträgt 24,7 %· Bei der Prüfung des Leinens nach der AATCC-Norm
34-1969 ergibt sich eine Verkohlungsstreclce von 11,5 cm.
Anschließend wird das Leinen ausgekocht (Hooker Boil) und nochmals geprüft, wobei sich eine Verkohlungsstrecke von ·

271*2 g/m -Woll-Bedford-Ripsgewebe wird in der Flotte aus
Beispiel 64 geklotzt -und bis zu einer Flüssigkeitsaufnahme
von 60 <fo abgepreßt. Nach dem Trocknen, thermischen Nachbehandeln
und Waschen gemäß Beispiel 64 beträgt die Appreturaufnahme 17*7 /»· Bei der sofort anschließenden Prüfung nach
der AATCC-Norm 34-I969 wird eine Verkohlungsstrecke von
3,8 cm ermittelt. Hierauf wird das Woll-Bedford-Ripsgewebe 24 mal in einem Waschautomaten mit 'Tide' als Waschmittel
gewaschen und in einer Trommel getrocknet. Bei der anschließenden Prüfung nach der Norm 34-1969 ergibt sich
eine Verkohlungsstrecke von 7*6 cm.
Eine Reyon-Stapelfaserprobe wird in die Flotte aus Beispiel
64 getaucht und bis zu einer Flüssigkeitsaufnahme von 100 Gewichtsprozent abgepreßt. Die Probe wird 5 Minuten bei
ll6°C getrocknet, 10 Minuten bei 171°C\ thermisch nachbehan'delt»
in heißem Leitungswasser gewaschen/yVonacn die
Appreturaufnahme 32 io beträgt. Nach dem Entzünden in einer
Bunsenflamme verlöscht die behandelte Probe sofort, während eine nicht behandelte Probe vollständig abbrennt. Auch nach
10 Waschdurchgängen in einem Waschautomaten bleibt die behandelte
Probe selbstverlöschend.
Ein Gemisch aus 0,2 Mol N-Dimethylphosphonomethylphenylacetamid
und 0,2 Mol einer 38prozentigen Formalinlösung
in 50 g Wasser wird bei pH 9 etwa 1 Stunde unter Rückfluß
gekocht und hierauf weitere 3 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur gerührt. Anschließend stellt man einen pH von 7*0 ein und
versetzt mit 20 g Trirnethylolmelamin sowie 5 S Magnesiumchlorid-hexahydrat.
169,5- g/m -Baumwoll-Leinen wird in der

erhaltenen Lösung geklotzt und mit Hilfe eines Laboratorium-Zweiwal
ζ en- Foul ar ds bis zu einer Flüssigkeitsaufnahme von 120 % abgepreßt. Hierauf wird das Leinen in einem Umluftofen etwa 2 Minuten bei etwa ll6°C getrocknet und etwa
3 Minuten bei etwa 177°C thermisch nachbehandelt. Nach etwa 5minütigem Waschen des Leinens von Hand mit 'Tide'
als Waschmittel ergibt sich nach der AATCC-Norm 34-1969
eine Verkohlungsstrecke von 5*1 cm. Nach einer zweiten
Wäsche von Hand beträgt die berechnete Verkohlungsstrecke 4,8 cm.
4O.g NjN'-Bis-dimethylphosphonomethylsuccinamid werden mit
60 g einer 40prozentigen Formalinlösung vermischt und.
1β bis l8 Stunden bei einem pH von 10 gerührt. Hierauf
stellt man den pH mit Salzsäure auf 7*0 ein und versetzt
mit 23 g einer 50prozentigen Lösung von Methylolmelamin
sowie 5 g Ammoniumchlorid. Ein 203*4 g/m -Wollgewebe
wird in der erhaltenen Lösung geklotzt und mit Hilfe eines Laboratorium-Zweiwalzen-Foulards bei 4,2 atü
bis zu einer Flüssigkeitsaufnahme von etwa I30 $ abgepreßt.
Das ausgerüstete Wollgewebe wird dann in einem Umluftofen etwa 2 Minuten bei 1210C getrocknet und etwa 4 Minuten
bei etwa 177°C thermisch nachbehandelt„ Anschließend
wäscht man das Gewebe etwa 5 Minuten mit 'Tide' als Waschmittel von Hand und trocknet es in einer Trommel.
Die Appreturaufnähme beträgt 4l %; es errechnet sich
ein Sauerstoffindex von 28. Bei dpr Prüfung des Gewebes
nach der AATCC-Norm 34-1909 betragt die berechnete Verkohlungsstrecke
J,6 cm. Nach weiteren 4 Waschen von Hand
beträgt die Verkohlungsstrecke nach der Norm 34-I969 ·

Gemäß Beispiel 58 wird mit N-Dirnethylphosphonomethylbutyramid
als Phosphorverbindung eine Klotzflotte hergestellt.
203*4 g/m Wollgewebe wird gemäß Beispiel 58 in der erhaltenen
Flotte geklotzt, wobei die Appreturaufnähme 30 %
und der Sauerstoffindex 28 beträgt. Bei der Prüfung nach der Norm 34-19^9 beträgt die Verkohlungsstrecke nach einer
Wäsche 9*1 cm, während sie nach weiteren 4 Wäschen 10,1 cm beträgt.
40 g N-Dimethylphosphonomethylformamid werden mit 60 g
einer 40prozentigen Formalinlösung vermischt und 16
bis 18 Stunden bei pH 9 bis 10 gerührt. Hierauf stellt man mit Salzsäure einen pH von 7*0 ein und versetzt
mit 23 g einer 50prozentigen Lösung von Methylolmelamin
sowie 5 g Ammoniumchlorid. Eine Reyon-Stapelfaser wird
in die erhaltene Lösung getaucht und mit Hilfe eines Laboratorium-Zweiwalzen-Foulards bis zu einer Flüssigkeitsaufnahme von etwa 115 # abgepreßt. Die Faser wird dann in
einem Umluftofen etwa 5 Minuten bei etwa 1210C getrocknet
und etwa 10 Minuten bei etwa 177°C thermisch nachbehandelt. Nach einer Wäsche mit heißem Wasser von Hand und
anschließendem Lufttrocknen beträgt die Appreturaufnahme etwa 32 $. Der Sauerstoffindex der ausgerüsteten Faser
errechnet sich zu 29,5 während der entsprechende Wert für die nicht behandelte Faser bei 19*5 liegt. Hält man ausgerüstete
Proben 2 Sekunden in eine Bunsenflamme,so verlöschen
sie sofort , während nicht behandelte Proben vollständig abbrennen. Auch nach 5 Waschen von Hand in heißem
Wasser sind ausgerüstete Proben selbstverlöschend.

- Patentansprüche1. Phosphonsäureverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel IIlIl(RO)2PH2CHNCin der R! eine Phenylgruppe, einen niederen Alkenylrest oder einen gegebenenfalls halogensubstituierten C, ,--Alkylrest bedeutet und Z den Rest χoder R darstellt, wobei X ein Chlor- oder Bromatom oder einen C, g-Alkylrest bedeutet und ή eine ganze Zahl von 0 bis 5 ist, y eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 4 ist, falls Z den Rest 'darstellt, mit der Maßgabe, daß die Summe (y + n) nicht größer als 6 ist und η größer als 0 ist, wenn y den. Wert 1 annimmt, oder y eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 2 ist, mit der Maßgabe, daß R ein Wasserstoffatom, eine Benzyl-, Dialkylphosphonoalkyl- oder Phenoxymethylengruppe oder einen Cp o-Alkylrest bedeutet, wenn y den Wert 1 annimmt, bzw. R einen C, 2i-Alkylenrest darstellt, wenn y den Wert 2 annimmt.2. Verfahren zur Herstellung der Verbindungen nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man ein N-Hydroxymethylamid der allgemeinen Formel II oder IIICHNCH2OH(II)IlRCNHCH,OH(III)309842/ 1217in denen die Reste X, R, η und y die in Anspruch 1 genannte Bedeutung haben, mit einem Trialkylphospiiit der allgemeinen Formel IV.
