Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Dauerschmierfett für stoßbelastete
Stahl/Stahl- oder Stahl/Kunststoff-Verbindungen oder -Gelenke.
Im Kraftfahrzeugbau werden in zunehmendem Maße wartungsfreie Trag- und Führungsgelenke eingesetzt, die
im allgemeinen aus einer Kunststofftragschale, vorzugsweise
aus Polyurethan, mit einer sich darin bewegenden Stahlkugel und einer Kunststoffumhüllung, aus vorzugsweise
synthetischem Kautschuk,- wie Chlorbutadien/Acrylnitrilmischpolymerisat
bestehen. Eine Dauerschmierung derartiger Gelenke mit handelsüblichen
Schmierfetten ist Insbesondere bei hohen Drücken, extremen Außentemperaturen und bei größerer mechanischer
Beanspruchung wegen des hohen Verschleißes nicht möglich.
Man hat zwar versucht, für die Füllung derartiger Gelenkverbindungen Fette einzusetzen, die einen Zusatz
an Lithium-12-hydroxystearat und dispergiertes MoIyIrdändisulfid
enthalten. Diese Fette haben jedoch den Nachteil, daß entweder die Kunststoffe angegriffen werden
oder daß Schäden an der Stahlkugel durch mangelhafte Schmierung, durch Kavitation oder durch Korrosion
entstehen, was insbesondere dann der Fall ist, wenn durch Undichtigkeiten Wasser In das Gelenk eindringt.
Es sind zwar aus der GB-PS 7 08 908 und US-PS
30 15 623 Natrium- oder Lithiumfette mit einem Gehalt
au Bleloleat zur Erhöhung der Hochdruckeigenschaften bekannt, jedoch sind derartige Fette In Verbindung mit
Kunststofftellen ungeeignet. Das gleiche gilt für Fette
gemäß DE-PS 9 47 728 mit einem Gehalt an gemischten Metallselfen auf Basis von Naphthensäuren und/oder
Hydroxystearinsäuren. Aus der DE-AS 10 40 164 sind Schmierfette bekannt, die Metallsalze von Essigsäure
zusammen mit Seifen hochmollkularer Carbonsäuren enthalten, wobei neben Erdalkallen als Metalle Zink- und
Bleisalze und -seifen nur dann eingesetzt werden sollen,
wenn flüssige Fette oder Öle gewünscht werden; diese Fette sind genausowenig wie Schmierfette gemäß DE-AS
10 64667 mit einem Gehalt an Lithium- und Calciumkomplexen
kaum in Gegenwart von Kunststoffen einzusetzen. Das gleiche gilt auch für Schmierfette mit Lithium-
oder Alkaliseifen gemäß DE-AS 10 75 777 und US-PS 28 42 494, die nur äußerst geringe Menge an Zink^
oder Zinndlstearat enthalten sollen.
ίο Die Erfindung hat'slch die Aufgabe gestellt, geeignete
Dauerschmierfette der angegebenen Art vorzuschlagen, weiche keine Korrosion hervorrufen und wegen ihrer
guten Schmiereigenschaften einen wartungsfreien Dauerbetrieb derartiger Trag- und Führungsgelenke ermöglichen.
Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe wird ein Schmiermittel, insbesondere Dauerschmierfett für stoßbelastete
Stahl/Stahl- oder Stahl/Kunststoff-Verbindungen oder Gelenke, gemäß Hauptanspruch vorgeschlagen, wobei
ein besonders bevorzugtes Schmierfett In Anspruch 2 aufgeführt ist. Es ist überraschend, daß Schmiermittel,
die zusätzlich noch 5 bis 50 Gew.r* an nicht quellenden oder gering quellenden Salzen von gestättigten Mono-
oder Dicarbonsäuren mit 14 bis 30 C-Atomen und mehrwertigen Schwermetallkationen enthalten, eine derart
gute Korrosionsbeständigkeit zeigen, wie sich aus den Vergleichsversuchen zeigt.
Das hochviskose Grundöl bzw. naphthenbasische
Schmieröl hat im allgemeinen eine Viskosität von 60 bis 250 cST bei 50° C und beispielsweise folgende Verteilung
der aromatischen, naphthenischen und paraffinischen Anteile:

Insbesondere bei Schmiermitteln für den Tieftemperaturbereich
bis etwa -40° C ist es zweckmäßig, wenn ein Teil des Mineralöls durch ein synthetisches Öl, vorzugsweise
ein oder mehrere Ester gesättigter Mono- und/oder Dicarbonsäuren mit ein- oder mehrwertigen Alkoholen
ersetzt wird.
Die als zweite Komponente im erfindungsgemäßen Schmiermittel eingesetzten Verdickungsmittel sind Alkallsalze
und/oder Erdalkalisalze von· Cu-Cit-gesättlgten
Mono- oder Dicarbonsäuren wie z. B. Llthlumstearat,
Calclum(hydroxy)-stearat/Calciumacetat oder Lithlum-Cii-C]4-(hydroxy)-fettsäuresalze
In Kombination mit Lithlumsallcylat, -acelat oder Lithiumborat.
Als dritte Komponente des erfindungsgemäßen Schmiermittels werden nlchtquellende bzw. schwachquellende
Schwermetallselfen von gesättigten Cu-Cj0
Fettsäuren, von Insbesondere Adipinsäure, Arachlnsäure, Behensäure, vorzugsweise Stearinsäure, sowie von Sebacinsäure,
ferner von synthetischen Dicarbonsäuren, z. B. Hepladodecandlcarbonsäure, Dodecandlcarbonsäure, Tr!-
methyldadiplnsäure oder von deren Gemischen verwendet.
Ein Gehalt von bis zu 20 Gew.-* ungesättigten Säuren
wie Ölsäure, kann von Vorteil sein.
Als Schwermetallkationen werden die Kationen von Metallen mit einem spezifischen Gewicht von mehr als 5
bezeichnet, wobei Insbesondere Blei, Zink oder Zinn bevorzugt sind und Kadmium, Molybdän, Chrom, Elsen,
Kobalt, Nickel oder andere Schwermetallkationen zur Seifenbildung ebenfalls dienen.
Gegebenenfalls kennen die erfindungsgemäßen
Schmiermittel neber±.den Salzen aus gesättigten Fettsäuren noch bis zu 20 Gew.-% Seifen aus ungesättigten Fettsäuren
und gegebenenfalls an sichbekannte Additive wie
Oxydationsinhibitoren und Korrosionsschutzmittel, wie ■ Metallsallcylatev Sulfonate, Naphtenate, aromatische
Amine oder andere Zusätze, wie Molybdänsulfid, Graphit,
Phosphorsäureester und/oder Metalidialkyldithiophosphate enthalten.
Zur Charakterisierung der erfindungsgemäß eingesetzten nicht bzw. schwach quellenden Seifen dient die
geringe Änderung der Penetrationswerte nach DIN 51804, die nicht wesentlich unter 20%, vorzugsweise
nicht unter 10% der Werte des Grundfettes absinken sollen,
wie die folgende Aufstellung zeigt
1. Grundfett mit 10% Lithium-12-oxysterarat 280

quellenden SeJe (Bleiadlpat) 270
2b. nach Zusatz von 20% einer schwach

Es wurde ein Schmierfett A aus einem naphthenbasischen Mineralgrundöl mit einer Viskosität von 105 cST
bei 50° C und 12% Q1, 35% Qv und 53% C,. entsprechend
der folgenden Zusammensetzung hergestellt:

Diesem Schmierfett A wurde gemäß Erfindung jeweils 8 Gew.-% (Fett B), 16 Gew.-% (Fett C) und 24 Gew.-%
(Fett D) ZInkstearat zugesetzt.
Die derart erhaltenen Schmierfette bewirkten überraschenderweise, daß die Kunststoffteile der untersuchten
Gelenke sehr viel weniger angegriffen und die bei der Zersetzung von synthetischem Kautschuk der Gelenkumhüllungen
entstehenden aggressiven Verbindungen derart gebunden wurden, daß keine Korrosionserscheinungen
auftraten und Schäden auf der Gelenkstahlkugel durch Kavitation und Korrosion erheblich vermindert
wurden. Darüber hinaus w ar das Lastaufnahmevermögen erheblich verbessert, so daß ein einwandfreier Dauerbetrieb
der untersuchten Trag- und Führungsgelenke gewährleistet war.
Es wurde analog Beispiel 1 gearbeitet, wobei jedoch jetzt atf Stelle von ZInkstearat jeweils Zusätze von 20%
einer nicht quellenden Seife aus Bleiadlpat, Zlnkarachinat bzw. -behenat und aus Zlnnbehenat zugesetzt wurden.
Es wurdsn die gleichen vorteilhaften Ergebnisse wie in Beispiel 1 erzielt.
Zur Bestimmung des verbesserten Lastaufnahmevermögens wurden mit einer Tlmken-Prüfvorrlchtung
gemäß ASTM D 2509 Fette gemäß Beispiel 1 mit steigendem Gehalt an ZInkstearat untersucht, wobei die folgenden
Werte erhalten wurden:

Diese Werte zeigen, daß das Lastaufnabmevermögen bei den erfindungsgemäßen Fetten erheblich steigt, .ohne
daß der Abrieb oder der Verschleiß wesentlich verschlechtert
werden.
Die bessere Korrosionsverhinderung, die auf die Anwesenheit von Schwermetallseifen, insbesondere
Zinkseifen zurückzuführen ist, ergibt sich aus den folgenden Versuchen.
Die Vergieichsversuche wurden mit den oben erwähnten
Fettmischungen A, B, C und D gemäß Beispiel 1 nach DIN 51802 einmal mit frischem Fett und zum
anderen In einem verschärften Test mit einem Fett durchgeführt, das 3 Wochen in Kontakt mit einem
synthetischen Kautschuk (Neopren) bei SO0C belassen
worden war. Die folgenden Ergebnisse der Tabelle II zeigen, daß selbst bei verschärften Korrosionsbedingungen
die HCI- oder Chlorabspaltung, die im wesentlichen für die Korrosion verantwortlich Ist, praktisch nicht störte.

Auch ein Zusatz von an sich bekannten Hochdruckzusätzen, wie Zinkdlalkyldithiophosphat, die bei erhöhten
Temperaturen zerfallen und korrodierende Nebenprodukte entwickeln, wurde festgestellt, daß das Fett C
keine Korrosion und nur in einem Fall geringe Spuren
von Korrosion zeigte, und daß das Fett D überhaupt keine Korrosion zeigte, während das als Vergleich
benutzte Fett A eine mittlere Korrosion hervorrief.
Um die Verbesserung des allgemeinen Verhaltens In einem Trag- und Führungsgelenk zu zeigen, wurden das
Fett A und das Fett C In einem Radgelenkprüfstand mit
52" Ausschlag- und 30° Torsionswinkel bei 105 Doppelhüben/mln
und einer spezifischen Belastung von 230 kp/cm'untersucht. Die Kugel bestand aus Stahl,
während die Kugelschale aus Polyurethan gefertigt war; die Rauhtiefe betrug 1,5 bis 4μ. Zur Erschwerung der
Prüfbedingungen wurde Wasser von Zimmertemperatur durch ein Loch im Kunststoffbalg geleitet. Es wurde das
Axialsplel nach einer bestimmten Anzahl von Doppelhüben bestimmt, wie die Tabelle HI zeigt:

Diese Werte zeigen beim Interpolleren, daß Fett A bereits nach etwa 14Ü000 Doppelhaben ein Axialspiel
von Ober 2 mm bewirkt und einen einwandfreien Betrieb des Radgelenkes danach nicht, mehr gewährleitstet, während
man bezüglich des Fettes C nach etwa 400 000 Doppelhüben ein unzulässiges Axialspiel erreicht. Diese
Werte zeigen deutlich, daß die Verbesserung des Verhaltens in einem Trag- und Führungsgelenk etwa 300%
beträgt.
Es wurden Schmierfette analog Beispiel I hergestellt, wobei jedoch die Seifen die folgenden Säurekomponenten
enthielten:
A: eine Mischung aus 87 Gewichtsteilen Stearinsäure
" und 14 Gewichtsteilen Ölsäure
B: eine Mischung aus 68 Gewichtstellen Stearinsäure, jeweils 6 Gewichtsteilen Adipinsäure, Behensäure
B: eine Mischung aus 68 Gewichtstellen Stearinsäure, jeweils 6 Gewichtsteilen Adipinsäure, Behensäure
und Sebacinsäure sowie 14 Gewichtstellen Ölsäure
C: eine synthetisch hergestellte Dicarbonsäure, nämlich
C: eine synthetisch hergestellte Dicarbonsäure, nämlich
Heptadodecandicarbonsäure
D: eine im wesentlichen aus Trimethyladipinsäure bestehende Fettsäure.

Die Zinksalze dieser verschiedenen Säuren und ebenso die Salze des BIeIs und Zinns dieser Säuren zeigten in
den Schmierfcttgemischen im wesentlichen die gleichen
Eigenschaften wie Schmierfette mit entsprechenden Gehalten an Zlnkstearat.
Claims (5)
1. Dauerschmierfett für stoßbelastete Stahl/Stahloder Stahl/Kunststoff-Verbindungen oder -Gelenke,
bestehend aus
1) einem hochviskosen naphthenbasischen Schmieröl, das gegebenenfalls teilweise durch ein synthetisches
Öl. vorzugsweise durch einen Ester oder ein Estergemisch' aus gesättigten Mono- oder
Dicarbonsäuren und ein- oder mehrwertigen Alkoholen ersetzt ist
2) einem Verdickungsmittel aus Alkali- und/oder Erdalkalisalzen einer C)4- bis C2b-gesättigten
Mono- oder Dicarbonsäure
3) zusätzlich noch 5 bis 50 Gew.-* nicht quellenden oder schwach quellenden Salzen aus gesättigten
Mono- oder Dicarbonsäuren mit 14 bis 30 C-Atomen und mehrwertigen Schwermeiaiikäuönen,
gegebenenfalls
4) bis zu 20* Seifen aus ungsättigten Fettsäuren und gegebenenfalls
5) an sich bekannten Additiven.
2. Schmiermittel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es als Additive Oxydationsinhibitoren
und/oder Korrosionsschulzmittel sowie Molybdändisulfid
enthält.
