Description
Nach der belgischen Patentschrift 651 596 können Mono- und Diolefine oligomerisiert bzw. polymerisiert
werden. Hochwirksame Katalysatoren, z. B. für die Oligomerisation, sind Verbindungen der Übergangsmetalle
vom Typji-Allyl-Me-X. In dieser Formel
bedeutet Me ein Übergangsmetall der 111. bis VIII. Nebengrappe des Periodischen Systems, X einen anionischen
Rest. Der π-AllyI-Ligand kann durch Alkyl,
Cycloalkyl, Aralkyl oder Aryl substituiert sein.
Nach dem gleichen Verfahren ist bekannt, daß man die Aktivität der Katalysatoren auf ein Vielfaches
steigern kann, wenn man die Ti-Allyl-Me-Systeiiie mit
Lewissäuren, z. B. Verbindungen wie K2AIX, RA[X2
oder AIX3 kombiniert, wobei X Cl, Br, J und R
Alkyl-, Cycloalkyl-, Aralkyl- und Arylgruppen sein können.

Nach dem gleichen Verfahren ist weiterhin bekannt, daß die Selektivität der Wirksamkeit der Katalysatoren
durch Zusatz von Verbindungen beeinflußt werden kann, die als F.lektronendonatoren, d. h.
als Lewisbase, zu wirken vermögen. Als Elektronendonatoren kommen z. B. Alkyl-, Cycloalkyl-, Aralkyl-
oder Aryl verbindungen der Elemente der V. Hauptgruppe des Periodischen Systems, Trialkyl-, -cycloalkyl-,
-aralkyl- oder -arylester der Elemente der V. Hauptgruppe sowie deren Triamide und weiterhin
aliphatische, cyclische und aromatische O- und S-Ather sowie Dialkylsulfoxyde in Frage.
Die selektive Wirkungsweise von Lewisbasen in bezug auf die Bildung von z. B. verschiedener C8-Gerüstisomerer
ist daraus ersichtlich, daß die Verknüpfung zweier Propene bei der Dimerisation von
Propen in verschiedener Weise erfolgt, je nachdem, ob man z. B. Triphenylphosphin, das die Katalyse
in Richtung hoher Ausbeuten an 2-Methyl-Pentenen lenkt, oder das basischere Tri-cyclohexyl-phosphin
wählt, das die Bildung hoher Ausbeuten an 2,3-Dimethylbutenen cokatalysierl. Gleichzeitig sinkt dabei
der Anteil an n-Hexenen.
Nach der belgischen Auslegeschrift 627 065 und der USA.-Patentschrift 3 104 269 kann man dimeres
Propen zu dem gewünschten Hexen isomerisieren. Dabei werden jedoch heterogene Katalysatoren verwandt,
die eine niedrigere Aktivität entfalten. Überraschenderweise wurde nun gefunden, daß auch die
vorbeschriebenen Dimerisationskatalysatoren zusätzlich mehr oder weniger starke Katalysatoren für eine
Doppelbindungsisomerisierung sind. Es hat sich gezeigt, daß die Isomerisierungsgeschwindigkeiten beim
Einsatz von bekannten heterogenen Katalysatoren um zwei bis drei Größenordnungen geringer sind als
mit den Katalysatoren der vorliegenden Anmeldung möglich.
Mit den \ orbeschriebenen Dimerisationskatalysatoren
gehet die Primärprodukte der Dimerisation nachträglich, d. h. bei Abwesenheit von Propen und
bei längeren Verweilzeiten als in der Dimerisationsreaktion
selbst, in thermodynamisch stabilere, ibi>mere
Produkte über. Im Falle von z. B. 2,3-Diineth>I-buten
liegi das thermodynamische Gleichgewicht bei
0Ί bei etwa 95°/0 2,3-Dimethylbuten-2, im Falle des
2-Methylpenten bei etwa 84% 2-Methylpenten-2. Beide Produkte erhält man in der Dimerisationsreaktion
nur in Spuren oder einigen wenigen Prozenten.
Gegenstand der Lrfindung ist ein Verfahren /ur
kaiaiytischen Isomerisierung von verzweigten und unverzweigten offenkettigen Olefinen oder deren
Gemischen, insbesondere Dimerisationsgemischen, die
in Gegenwart von Komplexverbindungen aus π-Allylnickelverbindungen,
Lewis-Säuren aus der Gruppe der Aluminiumhalogenid- oder Organoaluminiumhalogenid-Verbindungen
und Lewis-Basen aus der Gruppe der Phosphine erhalten worden sind, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß man die Olefine mit Triaryl·,
Trialkyl-, Tricycloalkyl- und gemischten Tri-Organo-Phosphinen als Lewis-Basen in Gegenwart von
π-AllylnickelverbindungenundOrganoaluminium-oder
Aluminium-Halogeniden bei Temperaturen von -80 bis ; 20 C behandelt.
Die ibomerisierende Wirksamkeit der Katalysatoren
ist nun ebenfalls in starkem Maße von der Art der Phosphine abhängig. Im allgemeinen sind Phosphine,
die bei der Propylendimerisation hohe Ausbeuten an 2,3-Dimethylbutenen liefern, d. h. stark basische
Phosphine, wie z. B. das Tricyclohexylphosphin, weniger wirksam bei der Isomerisierung als Phosphine,
die bei der Propylendimerisation wenig 2,3-Dimethylbiitene
liefern, d. h. Phosphine geringer Basizität, wie z. B. das Triphenylphosphin. Phosphine geringer
Basizität sind also gute Cokatalysatoren für die Isomerisierung der Olefine. Einen besonders aktiven
Isomerisierungskatalysator in diesem Sinne erhält man bei der Zugabe von Trimethylphosphin.
Ein Vorteil bei der Verwendung derartiger phosphinhaltiger Isomerisierungskatalysatoren ist, daß bei der
Isomerisierung keine unerwünschten Nebenreaktionen, wie z. B. Oligomerisationen oder Polymerisationen,
auftreten.
Ein weiterer Vorteil besteht darin, daß die thermodynamischen Gleichgewichte zwischen isomeren Olefinen
- im Gegensatz zu den herkömmlichen Isomerisierungskatalysatoren — bereits bei vergleichsweise
tiefen Temperaturen eingestellt werden können, bei denen diese Gleichgewichte zugunsten der thermodynamisch
stabileren Produkte verschoben sind.
Schließlich werden bei der Verwendung der phosphinhaltigen
Isomerisierungskatalysatoren für die Iso-
mensierung der Gemische der Propylendimeren alle
Q-Komponenten isomerisiert, was bei Einsatz herkömmlicher
Isomerisierungskatalysatoren, wie p-Toluo
sulfonsaure oder Kalium-tertiärbi.tylat nicht d"
hall ist.
Das bei der Dimerisation vun Propen mit den vorheschnebenen
Katalysatoren anfallende Isomerengemisch von geradkettigen und verzweigten Hexenen
laßt sich destillat;v kaum trennen. Es erschien aber
wünschenswert, technisch besonders beeehrte Propylendimere,
wie z. B. 2-Methylpcntene oder 2 3-Dimcthylbutene
rein herzustellen. Hohe Ausbeuter, an
3-Dimethylbutenen erhält man mit basischen Phosphinen
wie Tn-isopropylphosphin oder Tri-cyclo-•exylphosphm,
hohe Ausbeuten an 2-Methvlp.nrcn
mit Phosphinen, die z.B. sperrige tertiäre Butyl-,iruppen
enthalten, Isopropyl-tertiär-dibutylphosphii
rie.de Phosphine sind nicht geeignet, die Produkte
u thermodynamisch stabilen Endprodukten zu iso-
lerisieren.

u h.. Tricyclohexylphosphin und Triisopropylphos-
- hm fuhren zu Isomerisierungsgemischen. in denen der
\nteil an 4-Methylpenten-2 (eis und trans) Vergleichs-
-eise in höheren Teilen vorliegt. Dies ist die erste
•-tiife der Isomerisierung. Weiter unten ist als MaB für
ne unterschiedliche Selektivität der Katalysatoren das verhältnis von entstandenem 2-Methy]-pentcn-->
und J -Dimethyl-buten-2 in Abhängigkeit der verschiede-
:ie:; I hüsph-r.e angeführt. Für ein kontinuierliches Verfahren
kann sich der Fp-hmann bei ausgewählten Verweilzeiten die Selektivität und damit die Zusammensetzung
der Fndpndukte auswählen Behandelt man beispielsweise das Isomerengemisch aus -.5
der Dimerisation von Propen, hergestellt mit einem beschriebenen Katalysator aus .T-Allyl-Nickel-Jodid,
Äthylaluminiumdichlorid und Tricyclohexylphosphin,
nachträglich mit einem gleichen Katalysator unter Ersatz des Tricyclohexylphosphins durch Trimethylphosphin,
so erhält man mit über 90°/oiger Ausbeute ein Gemisch von jetzt destillativ trennbaren, thermodynamisch
stabilen 2,3-Dimethylbuten-2 und 2-MethyIpenten-2.
Über die Stufen einer Dimerisation von Propylen und Isomerisierung des Dimerisats läßt sich erstmals
auf billigem Wege auch im technischen Maßstab das 2,3-Dimethylbutangerüst aufbauen. Ferner fällt dabei
das für die Synthese von Isopren notwendige 2-Methylpenten-(2)
an.
Die Synthese von 2,3-Dimethyibuten-2 eröffnet einen neuartigen Zugang zum 2,3-Dimethylbutadien,
das als Ausgangsmaterial für die Herstellung eines synthetischen Kautschuks dient. Die Dehydrierung
des 2,3-Dimethylbuten zum 2,3-Dimethy!butadien mit Hilfe der üblichen Dehydrierungskatalysatoren
bereitet keine Schwierigkeiten und verläuft mit guten Ausbeuten.
Eine weitere Verwendungsmöglichkeit für 2,3-Dinvthylbuten
bzw. 2,3-Dimethylbutadien stellt die Möglichkeit zur Herstellung von Pyromellithsäureanhvdrid
dar, nach der 2,3-Dimethylbutadien mit Maleinsäureanhydrid umgesetzt und das Addukt
dehydrierend oxydiert wird.
Technisches Interesse besitzen die Propylendimeren als Kraftstoffzusätze, da sie insbesondere bei hohem
Gehalt an 2,3-Dimethylbutenen oder auch an 2,3-Dimethylbutan die Octanzahlen erhöhen, wobei die Verbesserung
vor allem auch im Bereich der niedrigsiedenden Komponenten erreicht wird.
A. Dimerisation von Propen (bekannt)
Die Zusammensetzung der Propylendimeren in Abhängigkeit von jeweils zugesetztem Phosphin (Reaktionsbedingungen:
—20' C, 1 atm ) ist der Tabelle I zu entnehmen:

Man erkennt aus der Tabelle I, daß der Anteil an 65 einsetzt. Gleichzeitig sinkt der Anteil der n-Hexene
2,3-Dimethylbutenen von 4,5 auf 68% wächst, wenn von 21,6 auf 1,8%· 'n der angegebenen Reihe werden
man die Phosphine PR3 gemäß der Reihenfolge die Phosphine zunehmend basischer.
R -- Phenyl, Methyl, Äthyl, η-Butyl und Isopropyl Bei Verwendung von Phosphinen mit stark sperrigen
tert.-Butylgruppcn sinkt der Anteil der n-Hexene weiter ab, gleichzeitig verringert sich aber der Anteil
am 2,3-Dimethylbutenen, so daß ein Maximum an 2-Methylpentenen resultiert.
B. Isomerisierung von C6-Olelinen aus der
Propen-Dimerisation
Bei Einsatz eines technischen Propylendimerisates
zur lsomerisieriir.g wurde nun ein Gemisch folgender Zusammensetzung als Ausgangsgemisch eingesetzt:
6,9% 4-Methylpenten-l, 5,5% 4-Methylpentcn-2-cis,
63,9% 2,3-Dimethylbuten-l.
4,8% Methylpenten-2-trans. 1 i,4% 2-Methylpenten-l,
2,7% Methylpenten-2.
0.2% lle\en-3.
1.0% He\en-2-trans.
1.3% He\en-2-cis.
1.1% 2.3-Dimelhylbulen-2,
0.1% llexen-1.
Der Rest sind geringe Mengen 2-Methylpentan, 2.3-DimethvIbuian und Benzol.
Unter Schutzgas, wie z. B. Argon, löst man in 100ml
Chlorbenzol 500 mg (2,78 mMol) C3H5NiBr sowie die
äquivalente Menge des jeweiligen Phosphins, gibt 100 ml des oben beschriebenen Olefingemisches >:u,
kühlt den Ansatz auf C0C und startet die Reaktion unter kräftigem Rühren durch Zusatz von 1,2 ml
- 1,45 g =-■- 11,4 mMol EtAlCl2.
Nach 19 Stunden unterbricht man die Reaktion durch Zersetzen des Katalysators mit Triäthanolamin,
gasförmigem oder wäßrigem Ammoniak und destilliert die CG-Fraktion von 53 bis 80°C über eine 70 cm
Vigreiix-Kolonne ib (Tabelle 11).
Als Maß für die unterschiedliche Selektivität der Katalysatoren dient das Verhältnis von entstandenem
2-Melhylpenten-2 und 2,3-Dimethylbuten-2 bei ungefähr gleichem Umsatz zu 2-Methylpcnten-2. Der
Zahlenwert des Verhältnisses 2-Mcthylpenten-2/2,3-Dimcthylbuten-2 bei verschiedenen Phosphinen ist wie
folgt:"

0,280 g (1,07 mMol! 1 riphcnylphosphin, gelöst in 5 ml Chlorbenzol. zugefügt und jvt/l 140 Stunden
bei 10 bis 20 C gerührt. Das keaklionsgemisch
vairdc danach auf Raumtemperatur erwärmt.

Claims (1)
- Patentanspruch:Verfahren zur katafytischen Isomerisierung von \ erzweigten und unverzweigten offenkcttigen Olefinen oder deren Gemischen, insbesondere Dimerisationsgemischen, die in Gegenwart von Komplexverbindungen aus rr-AUylnickelverbindunget;, Lewis-Säuren aus der Gruppe der AIumimumhalogenid- oder Organoaluminiumhalogenid-V'erbindungen und Lewis-Basen aus der Gruppe der Phosphine erhalten worden sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man die Olefine mit Triaryl-, Trialkyl-, Tricycloalkyl- und gemischten Tri-Organo-Phosphinen als Lewis-Basen in Gegenwart von n-Allylnickelverbindungen und Organoalumsnium- oder Aluminium-Halogeniden Km Temperaturen von -80 bis ·, 20 C behandelt.
