Die Verbindungen der vorliegenden Erfindung können oral,
rektal oder parenteral, vorzugsweise oral verabfolgt werden,
wobei die optimale Dosierung mit der Wirksamkeit der

Zubereitungen geschaffen, welche eine Verbindung der zuvor beschriebenen allgemeinen Formel I in Verbindung

die für die Herstellung von zur oralen, rektalen und parenteralen Verabfolgung geeigneten Zubereitungen bekannt sind.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Zubereitungen enthalten vorzugsweise
von 0,1 bis 90 Gewichtsprozent einer Verbindung der allgemeinen

Zubereitungen zur oralen Verabfolgung sind die bevorzugten Zubereitungen der vorliegenden Erfindung und diese sind
die bekannten pharmazeutischen formen für eine solche Verabfolgungsart,
wie beispielsweise Tabletten, Kapseln, Syrups und wässrige und ölige Suspensionen Die zur Herstellung
dieser Zubereitungen verwendeten Hilfsmittel bzw.· Zusätze sind die auf dem Gebiet der Pharmazie allgemein bekannten.
Bevorzugte Zubereitungen sind Tabletten, worin eine Verbindung
der allgemeinen Formel I mit einem inerten Verdünnungsmittel, wie OaIοium-phosphat in Gegenwart eines die Auflösung
fördernden Mittelss beispielsweise Maisstärke 9 und
Gleitmitteln, z.B. Magnesiumstearat gemischt wird. Solche
Tabletten können, falls gewünscht, mit im Magen-Darmtrakt
löslichen Überzügen nach, bekannten Verfahrensteohniken versehen

acetat-phthalat. In ähnlicher Weise können Kapseln, beispielsweise
harte oder weiche Gelatine-Kapseln, mit einem Gehalt an- einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel I, mit
oder ohne andere Hilfsmittel bzw0 Zusätze in allgemein üblicher Weise hergestellt werden und falls gewünscht, mit
im Magen-Darmtrakt löslichen Überzügen in bekannter Weise '
versehen werden. Die Tabletten können geeigneterweise jeweils 25 bis 500 mg einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel
I enthalten. Andere Zubereitungen zur oralen Verab— folgung umfassen beispielsweise wässrige Suspensionen mit
einem Gehalt an einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel I in wässrigen Medien in Gegenwart eines nicht-toxischen
Suspendierungsmittels, beispielsweise Fatrium-carboxymethyl-Zellulose
und Dispergiermitteln, und ölige Suspensionen mit einem Gehalt an einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel
I in vegetabilischem Öl, beispielsweise Erdnuß-Öl.
w Zur rektalen Verabfolgung geeignete erfindungsgemäße Zubereitungen
sind die bekannten pharmazeutischen Formen für eine solche Verabfolgungsart, wie beispielsweise Suppositorien

In den Zubereitungen der Erfindung können die Verbindungen
der allgemeinen Formel I, falls gewünscht,, in Verbindung mit anderen verträglichen pharmakologisch aktiven Bestandteilen vorliegen. Beispielsweise können Antazlde und
Säureabsorbientien, "wie Aluminium-hydroxyd und Magnesiumtrisilikat
in den Zubereitungen zur oralen Verabfolgung
enthalten sein zur Erzielung eines sofortigen Antäzid-Effekts.
Andere pharmakologisch aktive Mittel-»- welche in Verbindung mit den Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I ij
vorliegen können, umfassen auf das zentrale Nervensystem
aktive Verbindungen, einschließlich kurz- und lang-wirkende
Sedative, wie die Barbiturate und Methaqualon, anti'-histaminisehen
und/oder antiemitischen Mittel, wie Oyelizin und Diphenhydramin, und anti-cholinergische Mittel, wie
Atropin.
Milch und Milch-Feststoffe sind wertvoll für die Behandlung
von Magenerkrankungen bzw. Geschwüren und die Zuberei- λ
tungen der vorliegenden Erfindung umfassen flüssige und
feste Zubereitungen auf der Basis von Milch und Milch-Feststoffen.
'Für die maximale Stabilität sollten die Zubereitungen dieser
Erfindung vorzugsweise einen pH von mehr als 7 aufweisen;
dementsprechend sind keine sauren Hilfsmittel bzwe Zusätze
erwünschte. · \

Bisweilen mag es von Torteil sein, in den Zubereitungen
Verbindungen der allgemeinen formel I in. form τοη Teilchen sehr geringer GröiSe, wie sie beispielsweise durch flüssig-Kraft-Mahlen
(fluid energy milling) erhalten werden, zu verwenden.
Darüber hinaus ist ein weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung die Schaffung eines Verfahrens zur Behandlung von
Magengeschwüren, welches die Verabfölgung an den Patienten
von 0f25 bis 4 g täglich einer Verbindung der allgemeinen
formel I, vorzugsweise der allgemeinen formel II umfaßte In einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform dieses Gesichtspunktes
der vorliegenden Erfindung erfolgt die Verabfolgung oral.=
Insbesondere bevorzugt ist die orale Verabfolgung unter Verwendung von Tabletten, die mit im Magen-Darmtrakt löslichen Überzügen versehen sind.
Die bei der Herstellung von Verbindungen der allgemeinen formel I eingesetzten Ausgangsmaterialien sind in vielen
fällen bekannte Verbindungen; für den fall, daß sie neu sind, werden sie analog zu den Verfahren bekannter Verbindungen
hergestellt, und diese wiederum werden dem fachmann bekannt sein. In form von Beispielen wird die Herstellung

der getroclnete, ätherische Extrakt wurde verdampft. Der
Rückstand wurde destilliert unter Bildung von 9-Methyl- g
aminoxanthen, Siedepunkt (Bad) 110°0/0,1 mm.
In ähnlicher Weise wurde 9-Äcetamidoxanthen reduziert un- '
ter Bildung von 9-Äthylaminoxanthen>

9-Xanthenyl-acetat (1 g), Benzylamin (0,6 ml) und Toluol
(10 ml) warden 2 Stunden lang am Rückfluß behandelt. Die
abgekühlte Lösung wurde mit wässrigem Natrium—bicarbonat
und Wasser gewaschen und zu einem Öl verdampft. Dieses wurde in Benzol (10 ml) aufgelöst, ein Überschuß an trockenem
Chlorwasserstoff wurde eingeleitet und dann wurde Leicht-Petroleum (Siedepunkt 62 bis 680O; 30 ml) zugesetzt
unter Bildung von 9-Benzylaminoxanthen-Hydrochlorid,
Schmelzpunkt 157 bis 1610G.
In ähnlicher Weise wurden hergestellt: ' ~~-

(a) Eine Lösung von Nf-(2-Aoetoxyäthyl)-N-hydroxy-U-9-xanthenylharnstoff
(2 g) in Methanol (20 ml) und KaIium-cyanid
(ungefähr 50 mg) wurde eine Stunde lang am Rückfluß behandelt. Abkühlung auf O0O, Filtration und
Umkristallisation des Feststoffs ergab N-Hydroxy-IT'-(2-hydroxyäthyl)—F-9-xanthenylharnstoff,
Schmelzpunkt 1790C. -.
Tn einer ähnlichen Weise wurde
ψ -(2-Hydroxyäthy1)-U-methyl~K~9-xanthenylharnstoff, =

hergestellt.
(b) Eine Lösung von N*-äthoxyearbonylmethyl-N-hydroxy-N-
9-xanthenylharnstoff (3 mg) in absolutem Alkohol (100 ml
und F-Fatrium-hydroxyd (10 ml) wurde zwei Stunden lang
bei Zimmertemperatur gerührt. Das ausgefällte Natrium salz wurde gesammelt, getrocknet und in Wasser (25 ml)
t aufgelöst. Ansäuerung mit ein paar !Tripfen Essigsäure

bewirkte die Ausfällung des Produkts, welches aus Aceton/
Leicht-Petroleum (40 "bis 600C) umkristallisiert wurde unter
Bildung von IT'^Garboxymethyl-F-hydroxy-lT-S-xanthenylharnstoff.

In ähnlicher Weise wurde

Beispiel 14
Ein Gemisch von tf-Hydroxy-N'-methyl-ff^-xanthenylharnstoff
(2,7 g), Kalium-carbamat (5 g) und Methyl-3odid (2 g) in
Aceton (50 ml) wurde gerührt und 5 Stunden lang am Rückfluß
behandelt. Filtration und Verdampfung .des Lösungsmittels ergab N-Methoxy-N'-methyl-N-^xantnenylharngtoff,
Schmelzpunkt 149 bis 1500O.
(Für alle in den Beispielen 1 bis 14 beschriebenen Verbindungen
wurden zufriedenstellende Elemertt-Analyseii erhalten.
In vielen fällen schmolzen die Verbindungen bei den beschriebenen Temperaturen mit Zersetzung).
Bei der Herstellung von Tabletten können Semis ehe der
