Abstract

Un recubrimiento de la membrana sobre un substrato hortícola donde dicha membrana está compuesta por una o más capas particuladas que comprenden uno o más materiales particulados, en que dichos materiales particulados están finamente divididos y donde dicha membrana permite el intercambio de gases en la superficie de dicho substrato. 1Un método para el control de plagas en substratos hortícolas, caracterizado por los siguientes pasos: a) Dividir finamente uno o más materiales particulados hasta alcanzar un tamaño medio de partícula de 10 X 10-6 metros o menos. b) Preparar una mezcla acuosa de dichas partículas finamente divididas en un líquido volátil tal como agua, solvente orgánico de bajo punto de ebullición o una mezcla de solvente orgánico/agua de bajo punto de ebullición. c) Aplicar una o más capas de la mezcla acuosa formada a la superficie del substrato hortícola, mediante rociado u otra forma de aplicación, dejando evaporar el líquido volátil entre recubrimientos para formar en la superficie de dicho substrato una membrana, donde dicha membrana permite el intercambio de gases en la superficie de dicho substrato.
