Abstract
Los aspectos de la invención incluyen un electrodo poroso y permeable al agua para electrocatálisis que comprende: una membrana electroquímica reactiva ("REM") porosa y permeable al agua que comprende: una membrana de soporte porosa y permeable al agua; en donde la membrana de soporte comprende un metal de titanio; y un revestimiento electrocatalítico en al menos una parte de la membrana de soporte de metal, siendo el revestimiento electrocatalítico una bicapa de óxido de estaño que comprende: una primera capa adyacente y en contacto directo con la membrana de soporte de metal; en donde la primera capa comprende óxido de estaño dopado con antimonio; y una segunda capa adyacente y en contacto directo con la primera capa; en donde la segunda capa forma una superficie de la REM de manera que la segunda capa está en contacto directo con una solución acuosa cuando la REM está en contacto con la solución acuosa; en donde la segunda capa comprende óxido de estaño dopado con antimonio y níquel o cerio. Preferentemente, la membrana de soporte está formada por un metal de titanio.
